what are your system specs? and what difficulty level are you playing? also, if you are downloading from stardock, i assume you're downloading the multimedai files also? (seperate directory from the game) :notsure:
is the 845 chipset DirectX9 compatible?

what did you change? recently updated drivers? are u installing from CD or stardock?
should be ok then. GC1 doesn't have any special video requirements. might be a driver issue? either you don't have the latest drivers, or the latest drivers have an incompatibility issue and mght need to be rolled back. probably the best thing is to send your debug.err to stardock. they're very helpful :)

GC1 is *definitely* worth playing IMHO. you might investigate whether getting a subscription to stardock's totalgaming.net (which gives all your moolah to stardock) might deliver you GC1, GC2 and still leave room for a few more goodies??? otherwise, i'm sure there'll be a fairly cheap price for the GC1/AP boxed set at this stage (though stardock won't get much of THAT moolah) ;) oh and GC2 beta2 iz not a great play at this stage, but the word is that beta3

it's me being the noob, i can see under your account that your player name and your nick name (which you can change BTW ) is AW Trespasser or AW_Trespasser, so you must be submitting right. maybe the metaverse is glitched at the moment. you can remame all your endgamefiles and save them up for a day when you *can* submit.... otherwise contact stardock direct. they're good at getting back to you. sorry not much help on this...... the other *must* is that you have to submit under your player name and not your nickname. are you doing this?
from what i know mods in themselves don't necessarily trigger rejection, but there are certain *flags* which can be tripped by them such as PQ, $ etc. You do have to submit with no firewall, and i did have trouble many moons ago and kinda stopped, so can't say whether this is specific to you, or a general malaise anyone else got an idea?

I did notice there was no sound which I am guessing is forthcoming have you downloaded the GC multimedia pack? there should be sound........or do you mean sound effects not music?
can't speak for SE i'm afraid (SEV is being beta tested as we speak and the game shots do look great) but have to say that GC1 is a very good game, particularly in terms of the AI. Persoanlly reckon it's better the MOO2 which is saying something... :)
welcome ExtremeMagic - GC iz a great game, but as Tech says, it's a bit quiet here now, and the empires aren't as active as they once were. a lot of players are also posting at www.galciv2.com where the beta of GC2 is being tested.... :)

as a far as I'm aware, a TG sub give you automatic access to the GC2 beta. the only cut-off for access to the beta is for people who preorder GC2 only. So, yes, if you subscribe to TG at the end of July, you will get access to the beta in 'fall' autumnal roy
