#1: If you park a ship in a starsystem and decomission that ship, will it provide any resources to that system (like Civ3 does)? #2: Am I stupid or is there no way to influence which laws are voted upon by the UP? I haven't found a way to push for certain votes or avoid others, and it's very irritating to be unable to influence, in any way, which laws are brought up. If the player is unable to influence this in any way, it makes the UP feel more like a random event than an actual unit

I might seem odd but I almost always choose the +70% population. Perhaps because I'm used to the way that Civ3 based production off how many people were on a planet. Am I entirely crazy for doing this? I've found that I can get up into the high 10's of billions while other civs are down in the 20's. I'm not sure if it's that much of a bonus or not. I'll have to try the speed thing, just to see what happens.

I think I may have answered my question in part. I managed to procure 300+bc a month in payment from various alien races for technologies. Because of this, I decided not to keep my tax rate at the highest level it can go (before the income starts dropping from people not reporting their taxes). When I did this, I noticed a marked rise in population and thought to myself, "Do happy people screw more?!" When I realized the answer was yes, I felt elated. Perhaps this has been my problem. Smar

I've played a couple different games now, all with the difficulty at easy. I took the advantage that gives my people 70% growth bonus and I only populate 15+ PQ planets. Yet, all the other aliens seem to out do me when it comes to proliferating like rabbits. What is up with this? I thought maybe I was expanding too much, since it seems new colonizers to planets can often die. But that didn't seem to be it. I thought I wasn't colonizing enough and sent out lots of ships with 100M people on

I'd love an option to set individual production sliders for each star system or planet. It could be set to default to whatever the empire is set to as a whole, but would cause less wasted production. For example, in the late game when new colonies are built. The player may want heavy research and military but this means that new colonies are stuck trying to build up their basic improvements. The same can happen for colonies that are already well-built with improvements and just need to pump

This may seem like a silly question but I figured I'd ask. Do starbases only apply their bonuses to the sector they are in? (for example, their military and social production bonus) Does it apply to every planet in the same sector as the starbase, regardless of where the starbase is located within the sector? (i.e. the starbase may be in the lower right corner of a sector, does it affect a planet in the upper left of that sector?) These may seem like silly questions, but I couldn't find a d
