Sorry I've been away but things have been pretty frantic at work (it being a hospital no surprise there!) but I've found chance to come back to my post now... oh dear, sorry but just HAVE to say to this...
So I find the comment about ATARI totally absurd - you wish ! I run a few of their support sites.
Try speaking to ATARI about the pathetic Tech Support for MOO3 and how the patches actually made the game worse before they abandoned the game entirely, you attitu
DarkPaladin
ZZZZYeti Simply sounds like you haven't bothered reading the manual to be quite honest, it's not exactly taxing, and my father of 57 can play the game with little trouble. The lack of military would most likely be due to you not building sufficient quantities and having the support structure to pay for it? Hundreds of games? I dread to imagine which, 100 Atari Emulation greats one of them? and you think StarDock are one of the worst companies out there? Obviously you're no
CariElf Thanks for the advice, but in the end (around 6am Sunday morning :p I uninstalled and re-installed StarDock and that seemed to clear the problem, I was just too desperate to get the new beta for AP! I was going to try and change servers, but I noticed that only California shows up, after the re-install, Atlanta came up as an option, but now it's gone again! I'd appreciate it if you can spare a couple of mins to advise on this if possible? (Oh and yep, refreshing the
Forgot to mention, the Error report says incorrect file size at the end...? Don't want to have to go through the hassle of re-installing StarDock unless I have to... :notsure:
Have started to receive the error message "Invalid Chunk Data" when trying to download anything from Drengin.Net. Have not done anything as far as I'm aware to cause this... any ideas?
Oh how I have missed my GalCiv! *Hugs the CD to his chest* :p As you can see, I'm back again, and hopefully to submit some more games after my time away! Oh and thanks surther for the good wishes, things are back to normal again now (or as normal as they ever seem to get for me, I live a strange life at times! LOL )
K I won't read it ;)
Just enquiring, but is there a rough date for the next version release yet? :)
I have seen the problem occur during my own games, and I do not play on Maso difficulty or Gigantic size maps (Usually no larger than a Medium) but still encounter the problem after a period of time. Ships vanish, graphics for planets also vanish P4 1700 384 Meg RAM 128 Meg GeForce4 Graphics Card Win XP Pro No other apps running Quiting GalCiv then reloading the save game does seem to resolve, but is a pain to have to keep doing that Hope this helps<br
surther No admittedly I've not read the guide yet, I've had to neglect GalCiv as there was a death in my girlfriends family, but now things have settled down again, I shall return! I'm currently trying for Small maps. I tried a Tiny but got overwhelmed early on
Thanks for all the advise. Definately want to expand and see the more challenging AI at work. I am now reading through some strategies Also enjoying reading the following ongoing game (when I find the time!) and has already given me some interesting ideas! http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=d3527bdf14907bc44d7540909e346338&threadid=72311&perpage=20&display=&pagenumber=1 And I'm about as impressed by Prime Minister Megatron as I am by our own Prime Ministe
Shambles10 - I can't believe that you've never played a game that's had a patch released for it which voided any prior save games!! I've seen many MANY patches state exactly that! It's a common occurrence in game updates, but more so in RPG/Strat games than in FPS RTS type games, so maybe that's why?
Well I got thrashed on Maso on my first attempt, so back to the drawing board :D
"Soylent Green" is people! So? :p :d :d :d :d :d :d
I did think that billions seemed somewhat extreme, but I could have sworn they'd said that on the news... $165 million, that's not so expensive, I can live with that :P I knew I'd read about an experiment on Earth regarding this sort of thing in the past, it was called Biosphere II, and the link below gives the story behind it all and why it failed http://www.chemistry.org/portal/a/c/s/1/acsdisplay.html?DOC=vc2%5C2my%5Cmy2_biosphere.html
You've gotta remember how long it take to get to Mars in the first place! Once there, what do you do? Plant a flag? Hehe. We can't currently find a way to produce oxygen in sufficient quantities to sustain someone on another planet yet anyway :( Then again when we send robots there, we get kilometers and miles mixed up and smack into the planet. I wonder how a Martian would explain that on his/her/it's Insurance policy?! LOL I'm all for space exploration, but what gets m
I have mentioned this myself, I think in the 1.13 error report thread, but until now not seen anyone else report it Did not have this prob prior to updating to 1.13 / downloading X Pack
I've been cranking up the difficulty level to see how I can handle it, and havn't done too badly, just need to find the time to play larger games now and try a few on Maso level
LOL Well Said LOL If the game's too easy, make it harder!!! That and if it's so easy, I'd expect a lot more Metaverse scores to appear...? [Message Edited]
On the UP vote screen, if a vote comes up to share tech, the game freezes. This has happened on three separate occasions and I've only owned the game for a day. If I task switch out of the game, it shows that the game is using 99% of my CPU resources. I then have to end-task it.
XopherMV - This was a bug introduced with the update to 1.13. There's a thread near the top of the list called "Tech Sharing UP Issues" which has a temporary solution to this problem post by Star
I like the phrase dance around the defect LOL
LOL I'm tempted Seeker Master, believe me! :D But I'd rather our own Empire become more active again! Is it considered "good" morality to re-animate our dead players using long lost PreCursor Technology? As long as we treat them well of course! :p OK ok... maybe Chaotic Good? :p Hmmm for every release there seems to be more problems than ever... although fortunately I was able to recover my last game and ended up winning... yay :CONGRAT:
Sounds fair enough to me. Until recently, I've been playing on relatively easy levels, but understand that if I want to score better, I'll have to learn to play the game better on harder levels! :p Why play on Maso level if you can score the same or similar on Normal? The only gripe I have is in the amount of "cheese" that can be used and abused to score in general on any level, but all games suffer from that sort of thing I guess!
I would sure like to know what I'm doing wrong, nothing makes sense! It seems like others have no problem with their economy, with raising money
RasterOps - Trust me, you're not the only one who seems to have major problems economically for no apparent reason. I've had them in similar circumstances to, where I am far ahead in every field compared to the AI, but seem to be losing money hand over fist. My last game in fact made me shake my head when I was being le
I of course am always active
I'd not noticed until you pointed it out surther ;-) Hehehe. Good to see someone taking an interest in chatting though!!! I've decided to stick it out and hope that the good old MidWestern Confeds decide to gather round our fire and chat for a while! All are welcome! :) I've unfortunately run up against that damned Tech Trade bug in the UP Council Meeting, but have dragged CariElf's temp fix down and hope it will allow me to
