I believe there a maintence cost just for colonizing on class 13 and below, how much it is I don't know though. And theres morale penalties. ~SDC~
I reformated my computer and wished to reinstall my stuff. I also wish to get Political Machine (Stardock). Everythig went okay, except that I'd need my serial number and I don't know where this is.
I don't think that game is done yet, don't even think it's in beta. ~SDC~
This isn't a wincustomize foum. This is a common mistake of stardock central used, Stardock Central is used for more than Wincustomize. ~SDC~
Is that what you call the invisible ship bug ?
It might be part of it, but what they really mean isa ships not appearing on the map, which this part at least can be fixed by saving and reloading. ~SDC~
What about galactic wonders? I captured a planet with one from a minor once and the benefit never showed up on my stats is there a way 'round this?
nope, if you don't build it it's impossible to get the benefit. ~SDC~
why didnt someone notice this back in december when it was released??
They did notice. It's been a known problem really almost since the day the beta was released. It's been reffered to many times on threads specific to the beta. And it's not the entire expansion, the new races and ships and plot that goes with them aren't included yet. As for a planned date of the next release I think Carielf said January 22. ~SDC~
You have to download and use Stardock central. ~SDC~
The influence you trade for has nothing to do with the influence used in cultural victory. The influence you trade only applies to UP votes. ~SDC~
There isn't an entire forum for German or any other non-english language. There are a few threads you could try though, can't remember the names of them. ~SDC~
You have to spend the extra money on a Drengin.net subscription to get the beta. It will give you all of Stardock's games, all new games they release within a year, and the ability to beta test. ~SDC~
I don't know if this has been talked about somewhere and I missed it but my terror stars had 9/1 moves after I loaded a saved game. Restarting it didn't fix the problem, and as these stars were grouped with dreadnaughts the bug would let me move the star 9 spaces, and THEN the dreadnaughts would shoot off in the direction of the autopilot (at full moves). Next turn the dreds would be back WITH the terror star.
Stardock knows, and it doesn't seem to be a priority to fix.
Screensavers have executable code content which 'can' be an issue with virus dissemination so are unlikely ever to be hosted here.... A quote from Jafo on the last thread asking for screensavers. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.g
Stardock's aware of this, it's a problem for everyone with the beta. Carielf's been working on a fix but doesn't know when it will be done. ~SDC~
is that as soon as an alien race colonizes a new star this becomes their new capitol, I thought this was supposed to stay the same star each time.
Aliens can change their capitols, humans can't.
Second one is that after I've traded something with another race to get a trade good such as aphrodisiac it does not show up in my list of goods to trade.
You can't trade a trade good you got from someone else, the race that builds it has a monopoly. You ge
Nastavnik: I'm still testing and tweaking the save game code in AP. When I'm certain that I have a solid build I'll ask Brad if we can put it up or if we should wait until we have the new races in.
A quote from her from the 1.13 bug thread. ~SDC~
Yes i am at war with the systems i tried to invade. One thing i noticed is that it prompts how many "Citizens" i want to load into the transport. Does the game make a distinction here between "citizens" and "soldiers"?
No, there is no distiction between citizens and soldiers in the game. ~SDC~
3) can starbases move? i can select them and a destination for them, but i've never actually seen them move. Are they just REALLLLLLY slow, or is the interface just tricking me into thinking i can do something that i can't?
If you make it into a Terror Star it can move, but only one space a turn.
4) how can i change the video resolution? i can't find an option anywhere in the setup
If you mean screen resoluton you can't ~SDC~
I think that you can only do it from your CD and then go to stardock and download the patches
You can install it from Stardock Central. But I wouldn't recommend it for someone with dial up. I installed it from it, don't even have a cd. ~SDC~
Does anyone know if there are plans to allow for a LAN/Internet multiplayer feature in the future, say, with a GalCiv2 (if such is produced...)? Or, some future 'superpatch' of GalCiv1..?
Theres absolutly no chance for it in Galciv 1. Frogboy said they are still considering it for 2 but haven't decided yet, but won't do it if it hurts the single player game. ~SDC~
will we be able to use to two new races in the map editor and stuff?
The new races aren't in yet. Neither are the new ships. ~SDC~
I don't think Stardock wants it's patches available anywhere other than Stardock Central or the Galactic Civilizations site. So probably not. ~SDC~
and there seems to be a bug in game, because if an AI player builds a wonder and i conquer that wonder has no effect on my empire, also if i conquer a planet with a trade good, i can't trade that good to other players and it doesn't effect me unless i traded it off them first
No this isn't a bug Stardock meant it to be that way. You can't conquer wonders or Trade Goods. And yes AIs do buy Improvements now the thing is GoblinCookie is continuosly responding to beta test
Bugger! Downloaded it twice, but both times it crashed after saying it was making icons. Still lists it as available to download, but why would it crash as it looks like it finishes installing? Will worry about this come Thursday (my weekend). Thanks folks
If you got to the point of it crashing when it says creating shortcuts then you probably have it. It crashed for me at that point but I checked and turned out it downloaded completly. ~SDC~
It doesn't look like you have the newest version, you need to install Stardock Central to get it. ~SDC~
You don't, thats not exactly what it means. Stardock does. They see all the information in all the games everyone sends in then they put the chosen improvements into a patch. ~SDC~
