His solution worked for me, though since it crashed in the last second while creating shortcuts Stardock Central doesn't think it's installed. But it is there. ~SDC~

It worked for me finally. At the last second when creating shortcuts it crashed and so Stardock Central dosen't think it's installed but after looking on my hard drive it seems to all be there. ~SDC~
CariElf has said there have been some problems with DSLs before (not all DSLs though as I haven't had a problem), though I don't think I've ever seen her elaborate or give solutions. ~SDC~
reinstalling Galciv and Stardock Central didn't do anything for me. I think I'll wait for Stardock to make a fix rather than reinstall Windows ~SDC~
it seems the latest sdc does not archive stuff
It does, I got it to archive 1.12 and 1.13 just fine. It just won't archive the expansion. ~SDC~

If you mean the number I don't think you can [Message Edited]
finishing a game before updating is becoming a hassle
The patches have only been released about once a month recently, and they don't go down unless a new one comes up. Finishing a single game before updating really shouldn't be a big deal. ~SDC~
the minor civilizations started to build a colonial ship every two turns , and every planet they colonized build another two colonials every two turns
Theres nothing abnormal about this, thats how most of my games go during the early part when I want colony ships. Set military production to 100%, spend rate to 100% and taxes to about 50% and all of your planets will make colony ships every two or three turns. You loose alittle money every turn this way though so you
Thats strange, didn't say it before but me too. Maybe it is a Nividia compatibility issue. ~SDC~
I have basically ther same problem, directx 9b, newest Stardock Central and GalCiv 1.13, XP Pro. When I hit install windows gives me one of it error messages asking to send an error report and shutting down stardock central ~SDC~
Try right clicking and picking 'check for application updates' theres something wrong with it on your computer if that doesn't at least give you 1.13 ~SDC~
You can't seem to install it by restoring either, I have 1.12 and 1.13 on my restore list but not the expansion. Even when I highlight the expansion and pick restore it just gives me 1.12 and 1.13 ~SDC~
I tried that but I couldn't figure out where it downloaded too. That doesn't seem to really download or install it. ~SDC~
That's a very good question. I guess I had assumed I was since I had access to Stardock central and its updates, but since I am not seeing the beta I guess it may be that I am just a registered game user and not a full Dregin member!
A Drengin.net subscription is something you have to pay extra for. It gets you all of stardocks games and betas. You don't need it for Stardock Central. ~SDC~
everytime I click install I get an error and windows says it needs to shutdown Stardock Central ~SDC~
1. Battleships and above are invisible (no graphic)sometimes, but not every time I play.
This is an old well-known bug, which Stardock has more or less said would take too much effort to fix because of where it is in the code. Saving and reloading will make them visible again. ~SDC~
A thread on this has already been made 'Galactic Civilizations is Gamespy's Turn-Based Strategy Game of the Year.' ~SDC~
Go to the diplomatic screen with one of them (if you have made contact with them) pick attack, then choose the race you want them to attack. Most cases you'll probably have to pay them or give them a tech or two to make them willing to. ~SDC~
I guess the closer Altarian Prophecy gets to Beta, the more info we'll get.
The beta (or maybe alpha) is supposed to be released today. ~SDC~
I've never been able to figure out how to rollbackwards after a patch upgrade (not sure if you even can)
Archive and Restore through Stardock Central should do it, but you have to archive the versions you want before updating. ~SDC~
The invisible ship bug probably won't be fixed CariElf said they would probably have to spend a few weeks working on nothing but that bug to fix it and because of that it's not worth it and since it can be fixed by saving and reloading I would agree, they should work on other things if it would take that long. The expansion for example would probably be delayed by working on that bug. ~SDC~
my game kept on locking up my entire computer before the new 1.13 patch so i happily updated the game when the new patch was made available. however, i had lost all my tech and social improvements when i restarted my saved game. additionally, the game ended immediately when i tried to continue playing, giving me a military victory.
It doesn't look like you have a choice i this case, but it is as I seem to have observed stardock's policy you should always finish any games
It's generally Stardock's policy as I understand it that you should finish a game before updating. Any new patch can mess up an old game. ~SDC~
Is 1.13 still up ?
You have to use Stardock Cerntral. ~SDC~
