Game number 40 is done, I'm now a Vice Admiral :D

The only way is to play it on a different computer that does support 1024x768.
The game art and UI is designed for 1024x768. there is no way to change the resolution without completely redoing most of the UI art, and SD is not going to waste their budget doing this. Sorry but that's just the way it is.
But then you'd just end up punishing someone who is save/reloading because they botched their strategy repeatedly and wants to give another try. Such as if I bought a full combat transport from an AI (but don't have the tech for it myself) and need to invade another AI before the planet rebuilds its defenses or gets captured by the other AIs. The problem is the population/soldiering works out to just about the same as that on my transport, so I would need to save/reload a few times if I
Simply put: 3D maps don't work unless you use starlanes. GalCiv does not use starlanes. Thus 3D maps in GalCiv won't work. There'd be ships all over the place with no way to actually tell where they are. :notsure:
No, there are no permanent repercussions for your alignment choices, not in that way. You can bounce back and forth along the spectrum and grab all the techs you please--the only limiting factor is how long you're willing to wait to get enough events to do it. [Ack, vicible beat me to the punch with his much simpler answer :P] [Message Edited]
Why don't you just set up a text file on your computer and type all your keys into it when you get them?
That's exactly what I do. Works like a charm, and I never need to worry about losing CD cases or digging them out from wherever they are. I just print the list out or burn it to a CD whenever I do a backup and I've got no worries.
AI updates based on the metaverse never meant the AI would magically adapt to players' strategies. Just that the devs would use info submitted to the metaverse to reprogram the AI to take the same tech path, basic strategy, etc as top players.
Nope, any unused production capacity still swirls right on down the crapper. The explanation as to why nothing has been done was that the AI would need overhauled to be able to properly account for this and use it to its advantage.
Yes, it -could- also mean that you just pick half evil and half good, but in that case it's a lot more likely that you'll drift toward one of the chaotics... :P
This just in from IRC:
(.Cari_Elf_Girl_Geek) well, that should be a simple matter to correct once Pat gets back from his appointment (.Cari_Elf_Girl_Geek) he can probably just write a script to update everything
So hopefully the metaverse will be back in action soon! :D
This definately sounds like the sort of thing the Cold One would be involved in ;)
Clarification: The progression (in game) is Saintly, Chaotic Good, Neutral, Chaotic Evil, Demonic. Chaotic is indeed taken from RPG alignments but here it basically just means you make choices mostly in line with your alignment but sometimes you don't, while Saintly/Demonic means you pretty much always choose the option for your alignment. Neutral, obviously, means you usually pick the neutral choice :)
It's just a matter of the frog getting time to hop over there... :)
Hrm... Maxtipherous, you should join us in the MWC so we can have more in-empire competition :P
If you're having problems then maybe this is intentional to preserve ray's rank LOL
:sniff!: :sniff!: I don't blame you though.. I've been considering the idea too, or of just joining one of the lower empires to give 'em a big 150k boost :P Of course, I'd come back here after I got their hopes all up :D [Message Edited]
All I can guess is your ISP isn't updating the DNS properly or something....
Maso--all incredible, all the time :D
One more game till Vice Admiral! (just a matter of getting the rankings to update to refelct the profiles... damn you server move):D
Works for me...
This has been known since she joined MWC mayito.. try reading the intro thread on the forums :P
Exxex99, scores are being received properly. You can go look at your profile and it does indeed show you submitted a medium maso today. I submitted two tiny masos this morning, and had the same result. The games are there, however, so it looks more like a minor DNS snafu on the rankings page (from the server move this morning, my guess is it's still pulling info from the old database or something, thus no updates from after the move). Rest assured though that the stardockians will figu
The game hanging on the first turn after a load is a known problem. Hopefully Brad and crew have got it squared away and the fix ready for the 1.11 patch Friday...
Time to get recruiting then, it looks like... only one or two good, dedicated players is all it would take :D
