the way i understood it the evil civs would get more wepons techs
Only one or two, such as Mind Terror Weapons (but that boosts soldiering, not weapons if I'm not mistaken).
kryo
Note to NWN players: Monks kick copius quantities of rear. Especially if they're named Sol or Kryos ;)
emperor: The in game tree browser only shows the core techs regardless... this is a known problem. The 'unable to build Excaluburs' is something else, and it *usually* amounts to the bonus pack being missing or damaged somehow.
The different alignments don't have different tech trees, really. There are a handful of techs that have alignment requirements (be they good or evil) but that's about it. You can see the full tech tree with all good and evil techs at Javascout's site ( http://webpages.charter.net/trevorpowdrell/ ) [Message Edited]
Maybe you should e-mail stardock and explain your case and maybe they somehow will let you download the expansion pack. I think that if you e-mail them they could help you.
Doubtful, since the license seems to prohibit resale... Really though, if you want GalCiv, buy it new. It's a great game and stardock really deserves the money for their hard work (and whoever sold it to you is either insane or just a bastard who burned a copy to keep and sold the original)...
At least you aren't begging for help with reregistering the copy (which SD will not do). The patch is the first thing under the downloads link at the left...
Has anyone else had difficulty with the inconsistant behavior of the scroll bars or am I the only one?
My only problem with scrollbars is that half the time my mouse wheel works with them, and half the time it doesn't. It comes and goes in the game with no discernible pattern...
IMHO the space sharks are useful to keep the AIs busy since I don't generally bother with a military until it packs a decent punch. Of course, if you don't like the space shark eggs you can just go to your GC/data directory and change the extension on Expansion01Anom.ANOMALY to something else--viola no more eggs! :D
It's just a matter of getting your people to post here :p
If you want to join one of the most organized empires in the Metaverse, how about giving the MWC a spin. You can join at http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=132 Or visit our site at http://idle.thehueys.com/midwest/index.php :D
I seem to randomly get DNS errors or somesuch on the MWC site now and then too, but not all the time like you seem to be getting. No idea what the problem is...
Hey citahellion, you seem to have no empire. And the MWC just happens to be looking for recruits--so how about you do yourself a favor and join us :D :D http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=132
There are lots of descriptions in the tech tree that are just for show, and don't really have anything to do with in-game abilities. Such as star creation tech, for example.
Wasn't there something about purple stars having a slight influence bonus over yellows? If so, then getting a purple Sol is a good thing just like having 3 habitable planets :P
Gimme gimme, I don't wanna wait for it to get approved and all that :D
The only ways of transporting troops are with the Transport, from Impulse Drive tech, and the Combat Transport, from Battleship tech--that is, unless you have mods adding new transports or adding transport ability to old ships.
Not meaning to throw a wrench in your droids, kid, but how exactly are there 9 submissions on 1.10 three weeks before the expansion even came out? :SURPRISED:
which I hope indicates more traffic but this thread and threadzilla (GROSS) still take longer to open than the shorter threads on the forum. I suppose we could put a link to the blog and continue the FOTR thread there.
Actually I don't think that would much help, as at least for me joeuser is just about as slow as galciv.com is. Both are much slower than most other sites. I get the feeling that stardock's network is just nearing its limit...
Happy Birthday MWC! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
A tip kid, convert the spaces to & npsb; (sans space) next time so they show up and it isn't all run together... although it still won't be perfect unless SD gives us a tag for fixed-width font.
If that were the case though, it would basically just boil down to you getting 5 extra ability points.
possibility to create political parties
You can do this already, by hand-editing the data files or with H5O's editor.
Freya, it could be that XP is tying to bluescreen but you may have your computer set to automatically restart in control panel/system/startup-recovery. try checking that setting first.
...perhaps... >:( (we need an evil, sadistic, happy face)
Hey, my first maso submission may have been exactly four months after my first submission, but at least I've beaten it, and continue to beat it. Just finished number ten, in fact. And so my progression toward evil continues :D
