Not too sure here if the cultural indicator in the menu correlates correctly with your dominance as it should (plus you need to maintain it for a year once you get it to win, and only then if the culture victory option is on) As for the submission message, that's the way it's supposed to be, since Brad and crew added in some new feedback to the process in 1.10. Test 1 means it sent ok, error 0 means there were no problems. [Message Edited]

Fun is always more important than realism :P Fixing culture calculations would not prevent culture bombing, but it would require you to actually build lots of culture-boosting improvements and wonders in order to do so instead of just building hordes of starbases and instantly flipping every non-human planet in several sectors.

If it is decided to limit starbases by type and not by total quantity, it shouldn't be too tough to add in one module of each main type that has no or almost no real effect, but you have to pick one of them to build when you establish the SB--then you can only build more modules of that type (plus defensive ones).

Meh... The only time I ever bother changing them is if I come across a very high PQ planet early on, either naturally or through random events. I then name that system Terra Prime, and build everything there instead of on earth. :) [Message Edited]
That's where most of the problem (for me) lies. The locals. That's where the majority of "influence" is in effect. Having two party palaces may not make the locals take much notice, but the game shows them as becoming deleriously happy.
This thing is the people aren't becoming 'deliriously happy', it is your empire becoming more influential. That is, your culture is ingraining itself into the lives of the people of that sector and the surrounding sectors. Anyhow
kryofx is new to the page
New?! New?! I'm just back in my rightful place, and on my way back to #3 where I was a couple months ago. And thanks to the masoverse it's now possible :D And Nand1, keep working on those masos. It's only a matter of time before you figure out the key cheese to beating it ;) Meanwhile, my fall from Chaotic Good Kryo to Neutal Kryo and hopefully soon Evil Kryo continues :HOT:
The multiple Party Palace (PP) influence attack is indeed very powerful but I don't like it because it's tedious constructor micromangement (better now with rally points)
There was never anything that tedious about it. My method? 1) Set lots of planets to build hordes of constructors. 2) Pick a place to build the palaces . 3) Center the view on where you want the palace, then open the fleet panel and click the blue arrows on 6-7 constructors--m

"Another 50 years of CFCs and human life on this planet would have been doomed. I'm not kidding or exaggerating" Sadly, you are. The problem with environmentalists whining about the ozone hole is that it was never a detriment to humans. Quite the contrary in fact. The reason for this is that while the antarctic region saw a thinning of the ozone layer, it was simultaneously thickening over populated areas *where the CFCs were actually being produced*. The "science" explaining the proces

Nope, captured TGs/Wonders do not benefit you; I'm still not clear on whether that's a long-standing bug or if it was indended, though. I'd think it would add a little more strategy to the game if civs had to vie for the planets that had the TGs/Wonders built on them.

I've thought about this too, that you should be able to mobilize a starbase without going the whole way and installing the superlaser too. That way you can build mobile palaces, etc. without bothering with actual terror stars. Of course the devs could also do something like limit you to one fully-fledged terror star at any given time. After all, building and maintaining such a huge artificial structure would be ridiculously expensive...
