that's some skill comparable to the best TBS players. Any cheese tactics? I don't think you could beat two AI players straight on.
Gengsta
maybe doesn't exist??? - yet Ray, your crystal ball is wrong!! good guess though, I was making the same guess.
Looks like 1.09 has no effect on metaverse scores (EBZM) And it has been a good discussion. Thanks ThelebK!
Could it be that you need +5, or -5 alignment games to move to the next? Interesting
I think they take your morality rating at games end and average it with 35 and 65 as the threshold. Much higher for the pures. I took 3 chaotic goods ~70, and one chaotic evil at ~18, and went from good to neutral. One more pure good (100) game and went to chaotic good. Under this system, it's going to take a lot of games for you to change aliments Ray. stupid
No. Ships not orbiting planets were shrouded in the fog of war. You, for example, would not be able to see a fleet of incoming transports until they were in range to attack you. Nor would you be able to see their entire fleet in transit between planets. The diplo screen threatens to reveal everything. Now, I am guessing the position of their fleet or using advance scouting. With new options offered by the diplo screen, I'll know where every ship they owned is positioned without cost. I
Ok back with a quick analysis of my old saved games. It suggests that trade routes does seem to follow the said pattern as long as there are no obstacles in the way. Although your trade routes will seem to go through every obstacle in its path as if they were not there. No verdict on how trade routes behave with obstacles.
Mini-freighters ( a miniature version of the freighters move on the map ). On your trade screen they come out as blue triangles, and they also show you the direction they are moving. Try to generate the parallelogram trade route with your imagination. Best I can do. >:( My previous statement was from experiences. I have only paid attention so many times, and that's what seems to be the rule so far. Worked for all trade routes that have been primarily vertical and once for a primarily h
what is this?? more advertising!!! :) Nice to hear that, can't wait for its release in a couple months. Meanwhile, try not to kill us with anticipation. Please? If you could post some screenshots though, that would be awesome.
no all extortion demands are blue. you're just going to have to guess at what they will accept and not accept to pay for tribute you should, however, have a significant military lead over them before you try anything of the sort.
Newly conquered cities in CIV that are thinly garrisoned alomst instantly flip back to their original owner. In GalCiv it takes many, many, turns for this to happen rendering it a useless means of defense.
Different game mechanics. In civ you used military units to conquer and subjugate the population. In GalCiv you use your own population and kill enemy taxpayers. Doesn't make sense for your own pop to revolt against you. :D That's an employee!
Ahhh MIT Press, I've seen some of the more advanced stuff they been doing with that. Nothing going with more advanced activities. Evolution takes a long time, and the process is very slow. Genetic Computing on the other hand has some possibilities in getting an answer to the most controversial CS problem: The NP problem.
Ummm, one huge question for the Frogboy. On the Diplo screen, does it show location and properties for all enemy ships??? Or does it only for the ones that are in your sensor range and not ones under the fog of war? Actually, it's open to everyone that has tried it, but keep in mind: Currently the fog of war does not hide any of the ships parked in orbit. If the diplo screen reveals location of all ships, espionage spending will be rendered almost useless as well as ad
teching is really expensive, consider cutting research costs. I can usually run at 100% spending for military and social, but around 75% for research.
Actually it's been quite noisy in this thread. Not so elsewhere.
Oh, yeah. Right now the easiest path to victory is cultural victory. Domination of 50% of the star sytems on a map and a few influence resources can get you there. Since military victory scores significantly higher, most players turn off cultural victory so they can obtain the military victory. I've seen about 50% higher scores for military victories.
Wow, the forum is bustling with activity. ThelebK, your strongest point is in the Warcraft 3 portion. The AI is indead very good at playing Warcraft 3 and the toughest AI can defeat the vast majority of the players out there. The difference here is of course the difference between RTS and TBS. In Warcraft 3, the AI faces a small tech tree, small number of stategic points, and one sole source of income. It also has the advantage of being able to handle everything at once. <b
for that you'll need to check your registry run: regedit hkey_local_machine/software/stardock/dregin.net/galciv/ read field Version (STARDOCK CENTRAL users only) [Message Edited]
Time to bring this up, it's July 4th now on the eastern seaboard. Have an nice Independence Day, and enjoy the long weekend.
My alliance victory was with limited rushes, but you aren't going to win militaristically or culturally for that matter. I was in cultural trouble the whole time and hopelessly behind on tech. Like I said I barely squeeked it by that time. If you do better, please enlighten me. You might find it easier on larger maps, more systems = more chances to steal tech and maintain tech parity when you go rushing. I always got behind when I did that on the smaller maps. If the
that sounds right there's 26 unaffiliated with average score of about 23,000 or so (not definitive) so at least 598k points of untapped points potentially awarded to the best recruiters.
Oh is that how it works. I usually assault two civs in lightning war. +2 speed, grav accelerator, and impulse stack very nicely for a fast moving roll over of enemies. I'm way too militaristic. Maybe that's what's getting me lower. I usually lose out on the first couple TGs that way. Not that I'm going to change my style.
Hey Ray how do you get such a high score for your games on large and medium. I can't seem to score very high even on gigantic. Do you have a huge military??? I tend to have the dominant military very early on. Wondering if I was overdoing it or not enough.
Shouldn't in the expansion pack!
Also there is the problem of the AI counter attack. You can lure out AI ships from orbit, by announcing war. In response the AI removes every major ship with offensive capability from orbit opening planet to easy invasion. To Peter Harris: AI doesn't quite consider the relative value of star systems on different size maps. It seems the values are proper for a tiny or small map. Also removal of those less useful building would help streamline the AI's building
