H50, Can you shoot me your email address? I have some programming things I'd like to discuss with you. Thanks. [email protected] ~SDC~

But, of course! :) Thanks. ~SDC~
I'm sure Ethermage will be happy. ~SDC~
:D ~SDC~
Hello everyone. Just joined up with the fellowship, and Ray suggested I stop by and say Hi. Hi. ;) LOL Ok, now I'm laughing. It's too late here for any rational thought and I just finished up my second maso game just a little while ago, so my brain is a little bruised. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone here on the forums. They have turned me from the loser (on simple) I was into the maso player I am today. Thanks! I was going to
Ok, I joined. :HOT: Peer pressure? Maybe. You have some very talented players in your empire. I think I'll pass on that communication thread though, 1300+ messages is just too much time away from the game. ;) ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Thanks Ray! I tell you, that level is WORK. Cripling is CAKE compared to that. It sure is nice to kick some butt at that level. You really feel a sense of accomplishment. My strategy had to change dramatically and you can forget about supplementing your cash flow with tech trading (unless you trade with new minors). All in all, it is very satisfying. 10 more wins to go before my next medal. Yeah. :D ~SDC~
Hey Hawaii, does your program renumber the IDs used in mods when you load them? Seems to me, that that would be ideal, just in case you downloaded different mods that use the same ID numbers. Just wonderin' about it. :) ~SDC~
Get the GalCiv Writer provided by HawaiiFive-0. With it, you can create your own Starbase modules that will increase your trade revenue. I had 10 SB modules that would increase Trade by 25% each, but I removed them as my trade went through the roof, and it wasn't fun to play. :( You may have better results though. ~SDC~
Actually, not directly, but that's ok. I'm still thinking about it though. LOL I'll try my hand at Maso tonight. Wish me luck! ~SDC~
I've had that happen to me once, but I did not understand what happened. Thanks fsk. ~SDC~
I have to say, Ray, you have got to be the most aggressive recruiter I have ever seen. It seems like every other post you have has "Consider joining the Fellowship." in it. That's just funny. Good job Ray! :) ~SDC~
Use Auto-Attack liberally. ;) ~SDC~
I don't get why you would need 10 million. Wouldn't you just as easily get the event with 1 (million)? I once had a planet in the 90's, but that was with some mods from the Library. I have since removed them and play with minimal mods to insure a "balanced" game. Of course, with the high PQ mods, you run into the chance of getting an Anomalous score - and nobody wants that. :notsure: ~SDC~
Of course, there is always the cheese way of waiting until you get the notice that it has been built, and then reload the autosave and lease it yourself. Ok, I feel dirty for even mentioning that. :( ~SDC~
I used to have the exact same problem. Now, when the end movie is playing, I just alt+tab out and start up a browser session and then alt+tab back and I have not had a problem with it since. I hope that helps. ~SDC~
I have never ever seen a life force resource. I believe they were removed during the beta, never to be seen again. I don't know if SD has plans on implementing them, but I for one, sure would like to see them! :) ~SDC~
Sorry I have not replied before now. Real life, you know? :( Anyway, Dark Rain is correct. The ability points are very hard to change and they (SD) have checks in place now that will recalculate the remaining points, so changing it would be next to impossible (I've tried). If someone DOES figure it out, please let the rest of us know! :) On a side note ... the editor is coming along ... s l o w l y, but it is coming. I'm sure things will pick up after I move (end of this month).
Edit the Player.civ0 file. You will find the money in there, near the beginning of the file. ~SDC~
This really should go in the Mods forum, but you can edit the Player.Civ0 to get your money changed. I do have to say though, that the game is much more enjoyable the way it is. :) Also note, that if you change your money, you will not be able to submit to the Metaverse. ~SDC~
I too, had problems with the additional SB modules. Everything else worked fine. Thanks again JoB! :D ~SDC~
I am planing on writing a front end kind of thing for savegames, but the real world is creeping in. We're looking for a new house and the kid's got an ear infection and it looks like some late evenings at work for a couple weeks, so ... I don't know when I'll get the time. :( ~SDC~
Wow. Thanks! I know that many people are going to be grateful to you when you get the rest of it. I was wondering though ... have you figured out the mini map yet? Whenever I move a star location, it does not get reflected on the mini map, so there is obviously something there that I'm missing. ~SDC~
I like the fact that they don't automatically appear somewhere. I give ships all the time to Civs at war (that I have strategically placed), just so they can attack each other right away. It's great fun to watch. LOL ~SDC~
#24, I absolutely agree with the keyboard shortcuts. I sometimes think I must click thousands of times during a typical game. I still find myself trying to hit the space bar to acknowledge the default action, just to sigh and click the button instead.
