"No worries Aadik its all fun and games to me as well....lets just hope we all see it that way I know the ANZAC's sure do...just be glad they haven't invaded your threads with drop bears and exploding sheep yet." You are invited to gape with awe and amazement as the ANZACs demonstrate the wonders of Airborne Livestock. WARNING: Absolutely no scribes will be allowed.

"we must for we are in too far to turn back now" No, you're not -just tell G.R.O.S.S. you were drunk or temporarily insane when you declared war, and they might go easy on you. :)

On behalf of the ANZAC Empire, I have been authorized to make the following statement: 1) We demand that the conflict be televised in widescreen format and surround sound, to maximize our viewing pleasure. 2) All Churches of the Holy Brew (pubs) are sacred ground. No fighting in these places is permitted until a minimum bet of $50 on the result has been made, and at least ten alcholic drinks have been purchased by both parties. Fighting with doing this is disrespectful to the p

1337 hAx0r Class 101: Faking Serial Numbers CDs have lots of pits and valleys on the surface, to represent 0s and 1s. Now, the first thing you need to do is figure out what part of the CD is accessed when the program asks for the serial number. You can do this by putting a tiny spike in your CD drive, along with the CD. When the program asks for the number, bash the top of your computer case really hard. With any luck, this should drive the spike through the CD and you can see the secto

It's not good, it's evil. We're %@)!ing up the northern hemisphere with our Insidious Mind Control (tm), and they don't even realize it. What a master plan! Dr. Evil would be proud. Who needs the secret police, anyway? B1 and B2 say, "Throw off the shackles of oppression! Overthrow your government! Become an Australian colony today!"

@Kiwi Greg: lol, that was a classic. It's going on my next spam mail to all my mates LOL Aargh, I oughta be submitting games, but I've still got uni exams on this week, then I'm going to Melbourne for a few weeks on some army reserve stuff... anyone know some good pubs down there? Oh well, I'll make sure I pick up a few bush critters on my way home to throw into the mix :)

"What other stupid stereotypes are used for Aussies... Kiwis... Bananas... whoever?" Banana-benders, sandgropers, taswegians... the list is endless. We all have secret names such as these. But if you use the wrong name on someone, you will be struck down in the blink of an eye. Choose - but choose wisely. :p [Message Edited]

I'd still like to hear some more ideas on exactly how this stuff should be done - the way I figure it, if we put together a fully worked-out algorithm here, people look about it, and it does what everyone wants, the devs are more likely to put it in. Well, it's more likely than if we sit around saying "i don't like this! fix it! make it, um, BETTER!" :p [Message Edited]

New graphics and movies would be in the "nice" category, but I don't really care about them. Also, they're not gonna add things like ground/space tactics, custom ships, and a 3-D map. Some of them MIGHT be in GalCiv 2. Actually, I'm hoping 3-D maps don't make it. Sure, it's cool to say "wow it's 3d!", but I haven't seen a 3-D map system in a game that wasn't a nightmare to get around (unless you memorize the whole map, but that defeats the purpose). This is the order of things I think t

"I've been clippering some today out the back ready to go." lol, I just imagined the next episode of "Australian Story"... Interviewing a working-class joe in a singlet: "Well, I used to shear sheep, I did. Me dad did it, and his dad, and, well, you get the idea. But then the government took all our sheep away! Some classified bs or something, I dunno. I reckon they're just against us honest blokes, always have been. I tried starting other businesses for a whi

I posted some ideas to fix this without adding more sliders a while ago - my first post about the governors is probably too complicated, but check out post number 9. http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=66132 (and just to repeat - it DOESN'T need extra sliders, those values at the end are calculated for you by the computer.) re:propoganda - the same idea is easy to put in for propoganda spending if we had an empire-wide propoganda fund. Splitting money evenly

Well, we'll just have to get our pets so drunk that they can't read your signs anymore. Too easy. The only way to be safe from our pets is to jettison your entire cargo of alcohol and run for your lives. Light beer doesn't count, btw.

Military doctrine teaches you to prepare for the worst-case scenario. With that in mind, I suggest the following additions to the "good game of GalCiv" list: 1) Fridge and microwave. Well, you should have these in close reach anyway, but I'm obliged by law to mention them. 2) Supplies. That is, food and booze. The more you spend on one, the less you have to spend on the other. I suggest buying all your supplies up front. First, it's cheaper. Second, you won't have to rely on th

Pawns In Transit Sergeant Hard glared fiercely at Chris's departing back for long, long minutes. He knew Chris was plotting something, and tried to guess the details. It seemed like everyone had secret agendas around here - including himself. He remembered the simple days when his only responsibility was breaking in new recruits in the peon armies, when he marched out a billion recruits at a time. He had fewer recruits nowadays, but much more to teach. And then there was the politics of

"I see the darn Aussie counterintel unit thinks they caught Pix of the top secret frog I was going to implant to ruin their entire ecosystem a-la the simpsons" So, you're basing your battle plans on simpsons episodes? Well, perhaps you should remember everything you've learned about koala bears in the simpsons: 1) Your toad ruined our ecosystem, our koala ruined yours. But don't you remember that look in the koala's eyes at the end? He's EVIL, and you just pissed him off. <
