I don't know if there's enough off-topic threads around here to justify a new forum for them, though... As for the people who are looking for tech support and answers - I think something like a stickied FAQ would fix that problem. A lot of the tech-support threads we've got repeat the same questions - if people can find most of their answers in that FAQ, they won't have to read through all the other threads on this forum, so it won't matter if imperial and off-topic threads stay here.

Kit's drunken singing just reminded me to finish this one up - it's been brewing since the world cup, just never got around to putting it together so it made sense... oh, wait, it still doesn't make sense! :p
Wild Wombat Action Figures - with authentic battery-powered "Iron Paw slamming on table" action! Now with sound! Press the buttons! Hear him chew food, burp, and snore! Wow! :SURPRISED:
Disclaimer - as usual, this is all horribly out of date. Ah, you're not alone - everyone is just quiet so they can appreciate your music. :D
Wow, this place went into a frenzy! I fired up my Beatles CD, ready to sing along, when I saw it'd already finished! So, when are you guys putting on the next concert in the temple? LOL
You need option 3) If we jump the gun and do something stupid and preventable that makes things worse, we are culpable.
Fair call - that's always possible, so it should be included as an option. I don't think that result's likely from simply reducing pollution, but it is quite possible in cases like that sulfur-addition you mentioned. I should have made my position a bit clearer. Our goal is to keep human-habitable conditions on this planet for as long as possibl

Ooh, when did we got the spaceship-comet-blueball thingy? Btw, have any of you guys ever heard of "Wombat Bitter"? I saw an old sign for it at the SCG, and even google drew a blank.
Wow! Kit and MM77 are celebrating their glorious accomplishments, while everyone else is still in a spin from that story. What a time to be alive! LOL
I bought a CD of beer songs, and that wasn't on it. I want my money back. >:( ;p
How about action figures of all the top players? Then everyone who's frustrated to see people above them in the rankings can just buy that player's figure and smash it around their room. That should calm them down for a little while. When they start to get worked up again, they can just buy a new action figure and smash it. If people are just gonna break them like that, you could make them out of really cheap materials and no-one would care. Hell, you could just relabel Lord of the Ring
-I'd be interested in a theme park, especially if it was on Mars. What would that cost me? My life's savings? No one currently needs to inherit my wealth so it’d be worth it.
I like the way you think! Someone remind me to go on a trip to Mars when I'm old and senile. :)
I wonder if I should be talking the talk several weeks before I can walk the walk again? :notsure:
Sure you can! It's very entertaining - for us, at least! Having drunken pirates in wheelchairs swearing and waving cutlasses at us is great fun! Just give us a five-minute warning call before you stand up and start chasing people. :p
Git yer pet koala to shave yer arse. It'll be less painful when a flaming coconut is launched yer way!
I th
You bloody magicians - it's all done with smoke and mirrors, isn't it? Isn't it? LOL Ah, just kidding - congrats! :CONGRAT:
Ahh, I've got a few days worth of stuff to catch up on...
The idea that most Americans are greedy, stupid, selfish louts who care nothing about our environment is fat load of left-wing propaganda. Here is an example of the problem: "Personally, I think one of the best things we could do is encourage a longer-term view - as long as the people making decisions can get away with thinking only for the next financial year or the next election, I don't think a l
Matt - we drew. :)
Kit! Time for a virtual beer! :D Glad to hear from ya!
blast that Ben - we're all picking up the accent
Arr, matey. Cultural exchange be a wonderful thing.
Och, aye! What a bump! I'm still sore. :SURPRISED: Happy new year to the fan club prez, and all the fan club members! (Oh, and to CariElf, of course, but that's obvious. In deference to her, I will NOT use a chunder-blunder smiley tonight, even though in all honesty I should. LOL )
"More be-er, more beer, more be-er, more beer, more be-er, more beer, more bee-eeeeeer, more be-er, more beer, more be-er, more beer, more be-er, more beer, more beer." (Insert music as appropriate. You know the song, surely.) Hic. Happy new year, y'all! :CONGRAT: P.S. If you were out in the town tonight, and you heard me and me mates singing "My name is Mistur Schkippy, I'm S-O-B-E-R!" , I'm sorry. You shouldn't hav
Hmm. I don't think they would have bought my thesis if I did that. Of course, the alternative would be to have the AI absolutely 0wN my thesis supervisors, and spank them silly. Then, while they're still distracted and screaming in pain from the 0wNaG3, I'll slip my thesis in and have them just tick it (while they're still thinking about their pain, of course).
I think Earth is a one-in-a-million planet. Way beyond PQ 26, in spite of the environmental damage we've caused. I think it's quite likely that the vast majority of the worlds out there have no life larger than bacteria.
Yeah, I agree with that one. In a game of GalCiv, you're amazed to see a class 30 planet, and a class 15 is just pretty good. In the real world, anything above a 5 or 10 would be very rare. I still don't think that makes us a 30-something, but. :
It's not sub-15 yet, but I wouldn't say it's far off. I'll go for 16. Personally, I think one of the best things we could do is encourage a longer-term view - as long as the people making decisions can get away with thinking only for the next financial year or the next election, I don't think a lot's going to change.
Wow, this place has gone quiet. Everyone must be gearing up for a big New Year's Eve.
