Also It would be nice to "resize" them , some cool structures look huge on small and tiny ships.
Not so sure , I was not able upgrade "defender" design either (in compain) even I had all the advenced tech. I mean I could upgrade the ships but not the design (wanted change the weapon). The "Upgrade" button in ship design screen is just disabled for it. Is it intended ? - If yes then it's very unconvinient , at least an option to base a design on some current design required !
Basically the info displayed on ship upgrade screen is incorrect. Here is a scenario: 1. I have Defener (predefault) class ship. 2. I created my own design with small hall,2 lev2 lasers and 1 armor and 1 basic supply. 3. I selected "Defender" ship and hit upgrade buttn from main interface (middle bottom of the screen), then selected my new design created at (2) as upgrade target. The problem is in
Small update on 1 (no next turn button) which is major problem. First exiting the game completely and loading the same save allowed me to continue. Second, got it another time, this time it seems to be related to the fact that I "doubleclicked" on next turn button.
Yep , I hit quit and then got MS "Program has crashed" message. Btw: couple more bugs : 1. After loading "Quick Save" game (loaded after battle) the "Next Turn" button gone 2. I already reported this in early Betas, happens less but still there - If there is no anomalities and you hit "Auto survay" button for survay ship it does nothing , but then after you clo
From "Settings" menu I exited by hiting "Load/Save" this disaperared mouse , it returned after I Alt-Tabed and back but then message about "restart" poped up (I changed Res) and after hitting "Quit" got CRD
Yes , but this will affect the logo for entire race. Also it's not that convinient , I am programmer so for me it's not a problem but I think for general user it would be much "nicer" to have "browse" button in game creation screen that could import (and resize if needed) any image. As an option same thing with leader "face" too btw. And don't forget option (that a bit harder to implement I guess) to put imported logo on ships in fleet combat.
Actually a good question , in GC1 asking anything was "considered" as demending tribute worsing relationships with the one you ask from even if its your ally. Is this "fixed" in GC2 ?
Well it's very minor and I probably missed the train already but one of the things I would like to see is ability to use player's own logos. Just an image (.png, .jpg,.bmp ...) you could load when starting a game that will appear on all your screens (and hopely ships) in game instead of default race logo. I believe it's easy to implement and will add some very positive "feeling" into a game , such small things make an "athmosphere
One of the unpleasent things I remember from playing GC1 was that UI very easily ovverun you even if you play on easiest level. Later of cause I managed to to "adjust" and scored some vectories on hardes levels but this almost caused me at some point to drop the game (and for one of my friends did caused). You see usualy when you set for "Very easy" you expect easy introductional walk crashing everything and everyone , testing bui
Well guys , It's may be a bit too late now but playing GC1 once more I recalled another thing that anoyed me a lot in in and I hope to see "fixed" in GC2. Basicly it's the fact that your allyes give you ships. Pazeled what's wrong with it ? After all free ships is good, right ? - Well , not , not when you out of money to sustein them
FIRST I probably will play the story Then ... I probably will try all all possible default races just to get a taste Then ... 100% technology oriented race only.
Hm... I am too glad it's not MoO2 - I liked MoO 1 much more
Civ 4 and checking this forums
Um, AWACS is a real thing, not just in games. Link Sure but the "ring" should be horizontal I believe
Of cause the answer is "No" developer made it clear a lot of times , but I still cry for MoO 1 style combat , yes it was stupid , but boy it was fun
Hm... rather uninteresting images ... I preeffer starships better , make a few nice looking starships and starships in combat !
Great News !!! Btw: if it's gold, when compain will be available for download ?
Now I would preffer such remake of Master of Magic and first MOO
Same here after MOO 3 failure started to look for something enjoble.
I agree with what you saying but my point is that while game should run well on mid range computers it should not look WORSE on high end computers like it's now, at least should be same. After almost every user tryes highest resolution possible first and only if it not works well goes down until find highest playble resolution. So if my PC works fine with 1200x1024 I might not even know that the game will look better at 640x480 <img src
To put things simple : 1. Is "Space Empires" good game ? - defenatly . 2. Is "Spase Empires" as good as it could be ? - Defenatly not , it is "cheap" but since there is nothing better in this area and this is imagination area of gaming anyway ... 3. Is "Space Empires" better/worse then GalCiv2 ? - Can't tell the games are from the same genre but different by aproach. Some people love some aspects ot
Well, we could add in code so that if it goes beyond a certain ratio it doesn't stretch them, but centers them in a black box I don't know the "right" solution but as it is now it's not good, since game itself looks best on high res and on LCD monitors (that probably most users have by now) it's bette
Actually that's why I made this post - to let the developers know that it's not looks good. It's on them to decide to use bigger images or better scaling algorithm or something else , but something shell be done about it. Btw: I was talking about "cut sceene" images , not videos, actually just noticed that there are such thing as videos and downloading them now
