I would settle for a constantly evolving (via updates) AI over a multiplayer option. This way constantly using the same tactics would not work. I thought that GC1 was going to use Human Player Tactics uploaded from submitted games to improve the AI, maybe this could be looked at. Most people, if not you then dont get upset, that were able to beat the game constantly used the same formula over and over (diplomacy weighted mod packs helped in this endeavour). Some else poin

I am still living in hope that this will become an option.
I've just been recalced for -50000 points yet several (inactive) players (eg Magnumaniac) near me in the table haven't been
At the risk of drawing attention to myself, mwaahahaha ;) I have never agreed with the recalcs especially with the 30 day no submit periods. I no longer play that often so I no longer submit. I have only ever used one name to submit under but I can understand why some people would create a new name to try and reach the
As a subscriber to TGN I am looking forward to the release of the GalCiv 2 beta. As a dialup user what is the procedure to get the CD sent out and is there a cost involve with this. I have no objection to paying a nominal fee and for P&H. I had also asked about this for Disciples 2 (a few months ago now) on the TGN website and got no joy.
se activities don't necessarily have to give over the tech, it could cut the rrequired time for research.
stand and watch another annex part of their empire? This penalty could be in the form of metaverse points or rank.
I am ready to come out of retirement for some more plundering.
Has any progress been made on the development of a games CD/DVD for those of us subscribers on dialup? I would love to try out Disciples 2 or Orb but my dial up does not always resume from where I leave of on the downloading making it an impossiblility for me.

Hi Jon, before I joined GROSS I used to be in the now defunct ANZACS. The reason I left was there was only 3 active members at the time and GROSS had about 10. Never feel obligated to stay in an empire if you are not happy, but as all the other posters say, you are able to join in their conversation threads. I no longer play the game (1 year and 180 games are enough for me) but I now hang around waiting for GC2.
Back to a pressing question for dial up subscribers. Is there any chance of getting the games on CD for a nominal fee?
I agree with Paul, I would gladly pay a fee for a CD/DVD with the larger games included to be mailed to me. I have tried to download Disciples 2 on dialup but sometimes when I resume the downloads itstarts from scratch.
Unfortunately mate, I have a 56 modem and twice it allowed me to resume, the third time, it started from scratch... I was not impressed!!!Anyone else suffering under the evil modem?
Same happened to me. I did a test cancel (1% Disciple II) and then restarted SDC and everthing worked fine. I then left the modem (evil) to its own devices for two hours and when I came back it had a download error and lost everything (5% downloaded). I had the la
I grab PQ13+ planets from the start. I think it is worth it to have the extra production power and with the two PQ techs available quickly the planets are pretty useful. I have PQ +5% as a starting bonus. By the end of the game, I am colonising PQ9 planets for their influence bonuses for my empire.
Dial up crashed at 5%, came up with an error. Went to restart and it did so from 0%. (:( I dont think I will bother now.
I have begun the Disciple 2 download on dialup, at 3% so far. ;p
My own personal dreams would be a development of AI intelligence.
Obviously you have not seen the Terminator movies ;)
I too have an AMD64, only 3200 though, but find there is no issue with the program running slow. Could it be that it has a problem with Win 2000.
We are infiltrating your empires, soon good will become chaos :HOT:
I too am only on dial up but I bought the Drengin.net as I support the ideal of what Stardock offers. Is there an option where we can pay extra to have a cds/dvd mailed out to us with all the content (all games) on? This way we would only have to download the patches/upgrades. Does Stardock Central enable you to restart a download from what you have already done if interrupted? [Message Edited]
Kind of. Once conquering the planet if a Wraith or a Vampyre is in the ship build then it will let you complete that build if you do not alter it. Once built then the option is removed. The same goes for alignment based trade goods if you are lucky enough to conquer a planet building one. Ensure you dont attempt to change the social build.
Not true. It is still possible to make races balanced well enough and still allow having fun through different abilities.
Why should all the races be balanced? When you have a heap of different races it makes sense there will always be stronger ones and weaker ones. The fact that some races are weaker makes it more fun when you use them to conquer the more powerful races. Historically, in games, I always play dwarves as I like the idea of thei
I am pretty certain you cant submit campaign games (The lower level ones anyway).
I ordered it from the US as I couldn't wait for it to come to OZ (MOO2 fan). Played it once and then sold it. Too many good games out there to waste time on this one. ;p
Races should not be balanced as this will take the fun out of using their different abilities. Nomads and dwarves were my favourites.
