hmm... i had a powersupply take out a mainboard and processor a couple years ago, when my appartment had a power surge. definitly wasn't fun. the processor still worked but it, amazingly, was reading as a 400mhz chip when it was previously a 1.53 ghz chip. that's a good call and i think i'm going to pick up a new box in the next couple of days. ........... my brother had this monolith of a peice of crap computer he had built and whenever you walked up the stairs to hi

kona, the processor chip has nothing to do with the design of the product.. motorrola phones don't look anything like the powerpc's in the g3 era, afterall. the high end apples now use radeon cards, but don't look anything like my laptop.. they came close to choosing AMD for the g5, but IBM won the job. future may hold nice things though, with the 64 bit AMD chip gaining in popularity.

so i shut the computer off again today, came back tonight and turned it on. fan didn't spin up again. i didnt' feel like dragging the case out of it's little rolly thing again, so i just got behind it and whacked the PS a few times with my fist. didn't work. then i did something really brilliant... i stuck a screwdriver in it, through the little vent slits. i thought i could push it into starting. after i reset the breaker and turned the machine on again, finding i had done no apparent

Who is the maker of a 500w PS with one fan? you know.. i never thought about that..probobly why it was so cheap. that one fan does its job well enough though, when it runs.. i have a case fan next to it that help out a lot as well.

with all of the dying hard drives and crazy boot problems, i thought this was humorous. i turned off my machine for the first time in a month the other day, and when i came back and turned it on it ran for about 5 minutes then shut itself down. i turned it back on to whacked-out display settings. it ran for another 5 minutes, then shut off again. i thought this is strange, it is as if the thing is overheating.. my studio was hot, but not THAT hot! so i turn it back on and sit in my Bios

you don''t need to apply a skin, you need to remove the win xp skin which is by default applied. right click on your desktop and Select ''properties''.. go to appearance, and in the drop down choose ''Windows Classic''. this will set you to the ''`98'' style interface which, so far as i''ve seen, is the similar look in win2k. with the icons, you''ll be set.
