ati is packaged in some HP computers and in the high-end macs. my hp desktop at work is an nvidia while my laptop is an ati.. (shrugs). i personally prefer ati but i'll give this card its due.. its fierce. still, for the power it uses it should have a DC plug in. i can see high-send gamers jumnping all over this, but i've got a 500 watt PS.. thats hefty considering the standard.. and i have plenty of other high-gain devices that can't afford one card hogging the juice. i think latin meant 'copy' the background layer.. or, in photoshop, 'Duplicate' it. trash the original, and you'll be left with a transparent ready background copy. put a new transparent layer under neath it and you can play with transparent interactions between the two.

sub question: does anyone know who they can RE-PROGRAM shortcuts? i move between mac and pc a lot and i'll tell ya- boy would i love to use the alt or winkeys as an option key. when i collaborate with people and they say 'oh, you can fix that by hitting control+option+blah' i'm like.. wait.. you mean alt? when you're big on shortcuts, you don't look at the keys, you feel for them. even on my keyboard, the alt key has the option symbol. but it doesn't work like that!

i would only wish that under the 'my skins' section, it would tell you if your upload had been rejected in that list. thats it. then you can clear it. sometimes you wonder if something just hasn't gotten uploaded properly.

i look at memory usage another way.. i don't say 'i have a gig of ram, so 20 megs towards something insignificant doesn't bother me'.. i say 'i have a gig of ram, so if i resource correctly i have more to use for the task at hand'. just because you have a lot of it doesn't mean programers shouldn't streamline things as much as possible. when all we had was 64 megs, stuff had to run small. just because its standard to have more doesn't mean stuff HAS to run big. keep it small and you just have mo
