if you're gettign into fireworks, my advice: run the tutorial. you'll be suprised how aftter 40 minutes you'll know how to draw a page exactly like you have very quickly and easily, have it load fast, and have it integrate perfectly with dreamweaver.
ok, lesson lesson: without going into the ettiqette of web graphics, how can you make graphics in the style you are using load quicker? draw up your graphic and go to 'save for web'.. i'm assuming you're using photoshop. if using a flat graphic, a gif is the way you want to go. if it has shade sor gratients, use jpg. your center panel will show a preview of your graphic with the settings a
ugoin, that welcome text is a graphic 45kb large. a user on a 56k modem going an average of 40 will load that graphic alone in 10 seconds. with all the other graphics and that page, you're looking at a nightmare for dialup users. play some more with the 'save for web' option, if using photoshop or illustrator.. and using the optimization options if in image ready. optimal loading time for a page is no longer then 12 seconds. or, if you can get an 'educational copy' of Fireworks, it might do you
muuuuch easier to naviagte! way to go! next - i shall give a course entitled: optimizing graphics for the web- the do's and don'ts of using photoshopped graphics in place of plain text.
yes! the answer to all computer problems is simply to UPGRADE your hardware! hehe.. i like that
jinn, center/old city philadelphia.. more spacifically, the 1300 block of juniper from south street to spruce street.. some very old homes being bought up and redone to match the 1200 block..very nice slew of town houses. the one across the street from me was just bought for 450,000. i'm pretty sure i have the footage right.. it IS a little small but, thats the price for history..
i was just going to say ..... 'guys, you know this is from three years ago, right?' hehehe i was going to say something also but saw 'ain't 24 hours old yet' and 'july 2001'. said .. oh..
i don't mind it at all, i think graphically its a well designed and very memorable logo. i'm just sick of seeing it on every 3 wall papers that get uploaded.
oh- WAIT! it could also be a 'Southern watersnake' .
where do you live mgiff? we agree its a 'northern watersnake' (my mother pulled out a garden book)
i know what he means.. even if you've fully hidden the task bar (on OB or OD load, for example) it pops back if some programs like windows update or norton antivirus flash a message from the system tray. in my case, i have Novel software constantly sending me stuff so the taskbar never stays gone. is there a .dll or .ini file that can be edited to compeltely 'not load' the task bar? i know you can use a script to enable explorer to run the task bar seperately from the desktop and shell,
there is a windows powertoy that does certain things like capture at intervauls.. it MIGHT be able to do that.. but it looks like they switched their site around again and i can't find a link.. sorry go to www.microsoft.com/windows and see what you can dig up.
600,000 for a house? dude.. not too shabby.. how big are these houses? because a small town house in my neighborhood is going for 750,000-1 mil i'm talking.. 1300 square feet.

what cracks me up is that THEY are suing YOU. this thread alone is enough evidence to SHUT THEIR COMPANY DOWN. i'd speak softly and not make my enemies. [Message Edited]
easy on the submit button. since jafo's werkin' i get to say: "There is no need for more then one thread. Please keep all comments of the same topic within one thread." * this thread is closed * boo ya. what kind of cool effects? [Message Edited]
thats my point. reading the thread instead of just the title. a satire to shocker asking where his notification was when it is in #1.
