wstaylor, note from the template.. clean, well seperated areas for navigation, content, and sub links. not that every site has to look like that but i'm glad you're taking a look at the templates/tutorials. its great stuff. i think the fireworks tutorial is one of the biggest eye-openers to what cool looking things you can do very very simply. you may think the samples are too flat, but..flat=quick loading

i see the difference. the logo has a redish background. make sure the program you're making the graphic in is set for RGB. even is your hex number is 0, it might be trying to swap it back on you. when you save for web, check your color pallet, if its a gif. see if there is a red color showing up in there.. if so, and unwanted, just remove it. it should be replaced automatically by black. if you can't figure it out, email me the file and i'll take a look. <

dunno about go live.. i'd stick with dreamweaver just because of its integration with flash and fireworks. adversely, yes, golive integrates with imageready an illustrator but i lean towards macromedia when i think 'internet'.. and you can't beat fireworks for quick easy vector to code pages. and, banner ads!! thats all i gotta say. hehe still learning flash, myself. <img src="http://images.s

um.. if having a problem on a widespread and stable browser like IE, i would NOT recommend going to a newer, more prototype platform like firefox to fix the problem. the problem is rarely in the browser itself. firefox is still mozilla and mozilla is still not mosaic. definitly try wiping the cookies, they've redone some things recently and that could cause you a problem 'less you clean the history first. <img

how long is the tune? you're allowed to use up to 8 measures of someone elses' music in something you do. if its just a little thing they figured it wouldn't be a big deal and thus, havn't gotten permission and likelwise wouldn't want your messages to start an avelance. i can symphasize with them a little.. you want to use a litte jingle but otherwise have to pay a royalty. it can get obsurd. i ped deviant art quickly, upon realizing you had to become a member just to use the search function. i couldn't get around the site to see if there was anything there i liked, to even consider a membership. i've found a few nice skins there but i made it to the artist's page by searching in google. by luck the link would lead me there.
