*hops in* looks sweet!! gray makes it un distracting. maybe do a brand with a colored titlebar but not borders? i know i know you could just turn border skinning off but i'd prefer it run as intended. DesignCaddy doesn't like colored borders *hops out*

17 - 21 - indeed mcafee was first, and i swore by that as a necessety until along came symantic buying up norton. that shield always gave me problems on my 98 machine and i just never went back. 'sides.. get your self system works or a norton firewall and it comes with antivirus. 20$ a year isn't bad considering you find out first hand what its going towards.

i understand, at the point of 'millions of posts that all look alike'. i'd never attack the system which is moderated-above all else-volentarily and say 'you should do this or that'. but to counter you jafo, what if the least downlaoded ones were d r o p e d out to favor a new one? it may be the same thing to some people but at least it changes, and with that movement it would only get better. but that would only be a suggestion if it could be done automatically.. no one should have t

norton. we've got mcafee at work and i promptly replaced my computers copy with norton they update it more often, and the symantic guys seem more on top of new technologies then mcafee. while the entire office is infected with something, i sit back and just hum at my pretty little norton gears.

4) It doesn't work great as a wallpaper, especially since the majority uses white icons and prefer non-blinding bright wallpapers. bad assumption, lass..if all moderation were done based on what you felt the community wanted (or by what download numbers showed, as that would have to be what you're basing on) you'd be screwing the rest of the worl

*sigh* its a very beutiful image. its not terregenned, it is comfortable on the eyes and is good with icons on top of it. you can say its bland, boring, unimaginative.. but not only do i disagree, so many other things that have gotten through moderation are far less -functional-. if you don't like that arguement, then : if you want to block out something based on certain attributes, you have to block out all things with those attributes. this means the same exact image made in terregen,

i spent a couple hours yesterday not getting any real work done, but rather playing around with DX and windowblinds, absolutely determined to start using Desktop X after having this whole suite of programs at my fingertips yet using only IP, WB and OB in the 6 months i've had it. i love the idea of desktop x and the ability to have an interface tailored to making one work more effeciently. it appears very fast (when the skins are built right) and, if shortcuts are customizable, it appears very e

karma, i used to use hyrdavision with either of my two ati cards.. all in wonder 128, later on the radeon.. tossed it a long time ago because it 'caused some minor but annoying problems with dialog boxes and what not in my pallet-heavy programs - most notably installshield would always be funky. it was handy for keeping information locked on the screen you were presently using.. ie, if i pulled a program to screen #2, menus and windows related to it could be centered on wherever my curs

right click on your desktop and go to the 'web' tab, and turn on active desktop. then you can place web pages or little application 'widgets' on your desktop, like sports scores, weather, and so on. i havn't used it in xp but it was notoriously unstable in '98.
