One thing thats always bugged me about space games is the idea that constant thrust equals constant velocity in the void.

Was that a military victory by any chance ;P? And btw, I notice that with the default morality settings its very hard for me to go evil. Most games play out as follows on 'intelligent' or higher; The Yor die a horrible, horrible death. The Drengin declare war on me, along with at least one other race, with all but maybe the Torians following suit over time. I give the Drengin ships to buy time for me to get better ship tech. The Drengin die,
I've started to associate their pitiful robotic faces with Enron and everything.
True, but you can't corner the market that way.
Custom windows shell? Do tell. TEACH ME OH WISE ONE! WATCH AS I SUCK UP YOUR TIME LIKE A THOUSAND MEMORY LEAKS!
There was a cutscene? Hmmm... must reinstall moo2. And btw, if they made the explosion realistic in size then you would always lose the terror star after using it :P.
Personally I don't see what the big deal is about terror stars- their mere prescence squeezed the victory out of my game plan. Deficit spending can be a horrible, horrible thing.
D'oh, didn't think so.
Can't you just use star fighers for the same purpose?
Oh ya, and do speed upgrades and interdictor beams affect freighters? -not the ones that establish trade routes, the mini ones that go back and forth once a route has been established.- For that matter, do defense upgrades affect those freighters?
Oh and what happens if you do that, then the terror star is destroyed?
Uhm, just so you know, the AI always builds every building possible.
Did it take a lot of little gifts, a lot of large gifts, a lot of medium gifts, or just a few massive gifts? Cuz sometimes its maddening how the AI won't ally with me no matter what I do, even if I give it the coveted Corvette tech >_<.
Uhm, what on earth are you people talking about, I don't see any grammatical errors in AIL.ST's post, nor do I see any indication that Cotal was laughing AT him rather than with him... My question is, what does the name AIL.ST mean? Or Cotal for that matter?
"I have created a fantasy role-playing system, not a computer game. My resume is devoid of this particular effort since I am a physician by trade" Oh, well, all you said initially was that you worked on role playing/strategy games... for all I knew that meant you are the creator of "Operation". THAT could go on your resume ;D. Btw, has anyone ever seen that movie thats been floating around the 'net, entitled "Summoner Geeks"? I think you guys would get a kick outta that ;D.<b
I want an mp3 of that song- hey wait, heres a brilliant idea; make a Galciv soundtrack cd! I'd buy it! ... Oh wait, all the songs are already available in mp3 format... right off the cd.... and my hard drive... ... -_-... Nevermind. P.S. Maybe with some new Galciv themed songs exclusive to the cd? I know I'd buy it! Then again, the guy who did that music is probably long gone. Ah well... Anyways, ya I guess I c
On a side note; GAHHHHH! That Torian Confederation song keeps playing in my head, and it won't stop! Damn you Stardock!
Who else rolls their eyes when they see how zealously the AI clutches this tech, even late in the game when my Overlords are cruising around with relative impunity? In my -admittedly somewhat limited- experience, by the time you get corvettes -and transports to invade- the enemy has battleaxes and you are S.O.L. Even if they don't, do you really want to go down a dead end on the tech tree just for the ability to lose ships to enemy defenders?
I think it WAS the starwas mod, as I uninstalled it and haven't had the problem since. Hmph... ~SDC~
A mobile resource? No kidding? Thats awsome. Hey, if you make a starbase thats on top of a resource into a terror star, then disband it someplace else -deep in your territory, for example,- does the resource simply vanish, or is it now relocated? ~SDC~
I say this not because I don't believe you, but because several people have already said they work on games without elaboration: I DEMAND TO SEE YOUR RESUME! :D. If I am talking to the creator of PONG, I'd like to know it so I can suck up and maybe get some tips on game creation.
Try going into the music or event music folders ingame and playing the mp3s there. If that works then.. uh... hmm I just ran out of inspiration ;D. But try it anyway and post the results.
Oh, and is it possible to build so many starbases with interdictor modules that you are essentially making your sector a black hole from which no enemy ships can ever escape?
I concur with all of you, just wanted to spot check myself to see if anything was wrong. Thanks, everyone. Oh and btw, for whatever reason, I seldom invade anyone, and when I DO invade, its to take back one of my planets. Its just too much of a hassle for me to be bothered ;P.
Do the upgrades under the military tab on the starbase upgrade screen apply to terror stars? -meaning, the repair upgrade, the defense upgrade, the speed upgrades, etc...- If I make a terror star with cultural upgrades, is it essentially a mobile cultural emporium? A kind of "Don't bother coming to Mcdonalds, Mcdonalds will come to YOU" franchise? Will aliens get pissed if I have a culture-upgraded terror star in their territory? What happens if I move a terror star onto a resource?
