I've decided to leave the Fellowship, and be a lone wolf in the Metaverse. My stay on planet Tolkien was nice and I appreciate all who helped me out. I may check the thread from time to time, but I doubt I'll post anymore. Thanks for accepting me into your empire, however temporary that was. :) Goodbye everyone. :D

Thanks for fixing my bio on the Fellowship page, Theoden. I will be absent from the forums for a short period of time, due to life related difficulties (I crashed my Win 98 partition and need to fix it, and I have other things to do as well). See you again in the near future sometime. :)

It's a big improvement over the last one ; I particularly like the pic of the wizard of the front page . If I had one negative thing to say it would be that it needs more contrast; I mean the links and the page header image need to stand out from the back ground. Oh, one more thing: the popups are annoying: might scare someone off. The strategy link takes me to the angelfire website, is that intended? It Says "we couldn't find the page you requested". I liked t

"By the way, Miles...excellent story! I'm looking forward to the next installment!" Thanks, it's good to know people actually enjoy what I write. I'm not going for any awards or wanting to compete with other writers because there are so many better writers than me out there. I'm just doing my part with my meager college educated (basic) literary skills to entertain the Fellowship (and any other visitors) as much as I can. ;) When I write I never have a plan or outline, so I'

Here's more RPG story, a mini-series if you will: Within the Fellowship halls, Zyrixion heard the familiar footsteps of Ray The Wanderer approaching his quarters. Ray knocked gingerly to see if he was still awake, and Zyrixion let Ray into the room. “I have news,” Ray stated importantly. “Eh, what news?” inquired Zyrixion, the warrior bard-monk. “There is something not quite right in this city. The nobles of the viceroy’s inner circle are in an uproar over an item whic

I put all my MP3s in my galciv playlist folder (stupidly), then tried to create .m3u playlist files saved to the playlist directory, and it did not work...the playlist showed up but the music didn't play. It created a "Default" playlist which worked fine, but no other playlist did. I moved the mp3s to C:\MP3 and recreated the .m3u playlists and it works great. Took me hours to figure this one out. :( Hope this helps anyone who makes the same mistake. :)
Do you or does anyone have have some efficiency tips?
One thing I do is to fleet my constructors, then hit build starbase, and all the upgrades are automatically prompted to you, i.e. all contructors in the fleet build one star base at once. ;) That's the only tip I know of, but I would like to hear someone else's approach if they have one. :)

I try to be good most of my games to get an ally (though sometimes I'm not sure if I am making the correct choices) :notsure: , and that way I can pick on a weaker empire and grow my empire. I have played evil and I can see it has its advantages too. I think it's time for me to play another evil game to balance out my alignment some more. :D [Message Edited]

Miles Naismith aka Zyrixion's back story: Born in the Nothern Kingdom of Arthedain, a river-trading city of Caras Celairnen, Zyrixion's Mother and father worked hard to raise him right. Zyrixion's father worked as a trade-good buyer/seller and earned enough to provide his son with good books and a good mentor, a bard named Tridar. Zyrixion's mother also worked, in the city market place where villagers from all over Arthedain would come to buy their wants and needs. Tridar taught Zyri

Gengsta, here's a song from Metallica, one of my favorite bands. I think you could use it; just give credit to Metallica for the Lyrics. ;) For Whom The Bell Tolls Make his fight on the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside Shouting gun, on the run through the endless grey On they fight, for they are right, yes, but who's to say? For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know Suffered wounds test their pride Men of Five, still alive

Gengsta: Although you said my song was okay, I have doubts about it's worthiness. I tried to imagine your plot development as it would unfold so my song would fit in. I think I needed to be more general, creative, and melodic, and so I pass on the challenge of song writing to anyone who wants to try to write a rally song to use instead of mine in WofW. Don't worry my ego's not that fragile. :D But use it if you like, Gengsta. :)

If it weren't for the forum I would be completely in the dark about galciv strategies, at least for a long while. So crippling and masochistic are close in terms of overall AI strategy? I'll have to remember that if I ever get to that level; I'm struggling on normal, but I think I can beat it now, with a few cheese tactics of course. ;) Edit: The person referred to above was me. I asked what I began to think was a dumb question and changed my post. Sorry, Vincible. <

Gengsta: You wanted a battle song for WofW with space faring elves and humans, and I tried to fit it into the story , but I'm not sure how good it is; it's only the first draft. I can try again if you dislike it, no problem. ;) This was just top of my head, stream of thought composing: Alien Menace In the tumltuous beginning Planet Middle-Earth becomes many An unknown force spreading United Alliance now expands freely <br

I have a busy schedule today, and I'm not good off the cuff. I haven't kept up with the WotW stories also, so I don't know if I could create anything appropriate in time for tonight, but I will read WotW to get a feel for it and maybe compose a song for later; I just need some time. We do have another bard, I have been told, so someone else may want to take up your quest instead. :notsure: What type of song should it be in the event I am the one to write it, and should I just post it
Miles knew the little people of the Fellowship were going to pay big time as a result and that made Miles very afraid
Painting me as a coward, huh? Well, I do have some backbone as I too have posted my stories and songs in the fellowship thread (that takes some courage). It's just when I'm outnumbered that I get filled with trepidation. ;) Some of us may be little people, but we're getting more experienced by the day. I'm sure your story was just all in
