"CNBC is the thermometer of business; so why not a channel to check the blood pressure of labor?" I like that one.

Should we therefore pay the President on innovative performance? Now there is an idea...
How exactly is that a strawman argument? Bahahahaa! My mistake. When I reread what I wrote here I became totally confused. I couldn't figure out why I said that. Finally I remembered that I had been reading another blog at the same time as this one (I do that when JU server gets really slow). The discu
hello, my name is miggy, and i am a girl. hello miggy, my name is abe and i am a boy. want to play doctor with me?
Vorpal Bunny!!!
Good post. I am glad you have toned down your vocabulary too. "Should the 400K earnings of the President of the United States be topped by a rock star or a chief executive of a corporation?" I think that this would stiffle innovation so I don't think that it would be a good idea. The general practice family doctor is almost nonexistant these days. He has been r
...and so man created religion.
Just be thankful that this only happens on a particular day for you. I have an international orginization which has unlimited funds and man-power, whose sole purpose is to make life difficult for me, everyday. I have come to know them as The IHAC, or The I Hate Abe Club.
The first question should be, what is the ethical basis for saying that one person should pay 10X more for the same services as another person? But government isn't a service so it isn't correct to compare it to services like cable is it? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#F
I think there might be some confusion here about what I meant by psychosomatic. I was not saying that caner is "just in your head" , because that is obviously false. I was saying that what causes cancer to appear in the first place is in your head, and thats why it is often cured by your head. Somewhere out there in some 5th world country is a person with cancer who is about to be cured by a witch doctor.
1/ what type of salary package and benefits will you be granting yourself ? I would work for anonymous donations. 2/ what system of government do you plan to have ? <
if only that were true. Don't discount the idea out of hand. Research has been showing that the mind-body connection is far stronger than previously thought.
There seems to be 10,001 causes of cancer and 10,001 cures for it (some of which are nuts, but work sometimes). This makes me think that cancer is largely psychosomatic.
OK, wasn't sure.
Uhhhh... Read the last sentance by itself.
No one has a beef with editorial bias. Actually, the whole point of Card's article was his beef with editorial bias. Editorial Bias = Media Bias
BakerStreet, here are some good resources. I hope you find them useful--I certainly have. Link Link
"since 1974, dr holt has cured over 300 cancer patients" The important question to ask is 300 out of how many? 3000? More? If he has been doing it since 1974 300 seems to be a low success rate. That isn't to say that his treatment is without merit. Many other researchers have experimented with radio therapy as well. It is more successful than average for some cancers and almost useless for others. People often think of cancer
what do i need to make me happy ? That's a question I've been working on since I was a teen. I think I have it mostly figured out now. just allow yourself to ponder the f
solitary confinement...if we couldn't live without others, annoying or not...this would not be used as one of the most brutal and effective punishments...hell it even broke Percy !!(Remember the Green Mile?) That's the funny thing about isolation; for one person it's Hell and for the other it's Heaven.<
i don’t think we were designed to tolerate living with so many other people being so nearby so constantly. That's certainly true in my case.
Unions have a lot less power now since the air traffic controller/Reagan thing.
I think one of the most abused tools around here is logic. I could argue against myself and win on discussions here using logic alone... and be totally, criminally wrong... </
I feel you pain romeo5000, for I wish that I had a speech-2-blog converter with the added feature of translating inflection and body language. When I am limited to communicating in just words I often come off as aggressively confrontational, rude or whatever—problems which I don’t have in a tête-à-tête (sorry, had to use that term once in my life, it won’t ever happen again ).
