First off there's not a huge amount of people doing DX themes. Those who make the desktops generally do so for themselves and then share their work with you. Some of the developers will port to both desktop sizes. Since the desktop is made to be usable at that resolution I can't see what difference it makes unless you can't display 1280x1024 (like me, widescreen) If asked nicely you may find some helpful in reducing their work for you.

Assuming you have windowblinds installed and your using a windowblind on your system, you can choose the skins tab from the Edit Desktop Menu page and then choose Use Windowblinds Skin. That will apply the current skin to the right click menu.

Put your windows cd in the drive and reboot the computer. When the menu comes up choose repair. If you don't have a windows cd (pre-installed) then select run from the start menu and type in c:\windows\setup.exe You shouldn't lose any data files but I would back them up first anyway.

I agree with MikeB314 you should email [email protected] I have 4.5 installed and found uxtheme.dll in c:\windows\system32 & c:\windows\servicepack\i386 I also found uxtheme.dl_ in the c:\windows\i386 directory Personally I would run windows setup to repair the installation.

I share your pain. After the three hurricanes my boat was trapped in the back yard by all the downed trees. By the time I was able to get it out, it had sat so long I wouldn't run it until I had the impeller and bottom end done. Then business got really heavy and kept me working weekends. Hold down shift & press the Print Screen button (Prt Sc) open a graphics program like Paint Shop Pro or MS Paint etc. and paste (Ctrl + V) the screen shot into the graphics program and save as a bmp or jpg.

Wish I was. Brought home 2 projects that are pushing deadlines next week. Probably spend my mornings trying to tie up some of their loose ends. Then use the afternoons to catch up on yardwork. Weather's supposed to be pretty nice, sunny and 70 saturday & 75 sunday. How bout you SD. You gonna get out and enjoy that Chicago weather?

Actually you proposed that we had chosen door 2 and after elimninating door 3 the answer to your "question" is that there is no reasont o change your choice because there is no statistical advantage to changin it. If the "thing" is a icon or png you'll need to extract it to the image directory. If the "thing" is a background you'll need to extract it to it's own directory under backgrounds. I f the "thing" is a docklet it should be extracted to it's own directory under docklets. All these directories are USUALLY located in c:\program files\stardock\objectdock. I've noticed the same thing but only when associated with having the tasks on the dock. I use 3 docks (2 regular & 1 tabbed) the tabbed for all my shortcuts (which stays on top) one regular for the systray only (which does not) and one for the taskbar (which does). The regular dock with tasks on it always wants to stay on top regardless of how you set the z order.
