For some reason I can't seem to make a submission to the library. I've tried over several days. At first I got a server error; now it goes to the upload.asp screen, but that is blank. Any ideas or advice?

I don't see any reason to reset the scores. I've given up on trying to get into the high score range. Some of these guys crank out games like they have no lives. Personally, I don't have a life either but I can't crank out games that fast anyway. :D
You should let Spellforce know if you continue to have problems. You could also upload it here
Not sure how to contact Spellforce, but I u/l to the .org site. Thanks.
I tried and failed to create an Excalibur defense mod, similar to the Overload Killer 1 and 2 upgrades. I would like to see your mod.
I'll try u/l'ing it again. I tried last night, but got a server error.
I was afraid so. Usually I'm not very lucky in those kind of races ...
It is a Galactic Achievement, not a Galactic Wonder. Everyone gets one. :D
Also, its true that starbases are too weak to invest in heavily anyway. They are no match for even a single Battleship. I say that a built up starbase should take 4 or 5 dreadnaughts to take out. Otherwise they are just to vulnerable to attack to invest all those modules into.
I created a Starbase Defense mod which I can upload to the library if anyone is interested.
Starbases no longer have a Maint. cost btw. So before, let's say you had 20 starbases. They were costing you $200 per turn. Every turn. Play the game for say 100 turns like this and you're talking $20,000 in maint. So it's really not that much more now. And it's only per starbase. So it gives more incentive for people to buidl UP their starbases rather than simply cranking out tons of little starbases.
Yeah, I actually make more money now than I did before. I just keep sav
So... Why do the Space Sharks look like Space Lobsters? I'd much rather use a big pot of boiling hot water on 'em! LOL
I discovered the following: I finish a game in v1.19 and submit. It does not submit. I reload the endgamesave and what gets loaded is not the same game I just finished, but a previous game, one I played in v1.13 I think, although I am missing another game that did not submit, but perhaps this is it, not sure. In anycase, I can reload the previous save and get the v1.19 game back, but it apparently is not saving properly or perhaps it is saving in another place.
I am havi
Can anyone tell me how to increase my logistics score? After building a few starbases, it starts getting too expensive to build more. I have to choose between going for resources or building up production in my sectors. >:(
The animosity between Israelis and Palestinians is a result of the Holocaust. The creation of Israel may have occurred anyway due to the terror campaign of the Zionists, but the Holocaust certainly created an atmosphere conducive to the political action of the time. At the time Israel was created the pendulum had swung far in favor of the Jews because so many had been killed. This gave them a very strong political base. The Palestinians had no such pol
If you look at history, the US most probably approximates Rome around the first or second century CE, or Great Britain in the 19th century, at least in terms of relative power and prestige. A very powerful nation that is both loved and vilified. Yes, we do use our overwhelming power, but not always, and not in every situation. We use it and will continue to use it for the forseeable future to protect what we see as OUR interests whether or not some oth
There is only one way the USA is going to put a "manned" station on the Moon or send astronauts to Mars. That will be after we get the wake up call when China, India or Luxembourg does it first. Remember Sputnik? ~SDC~
Yeah, but can he submit from uni if they don't let him install GalCiv on the uni system?
No matter. He can always submit them when he gets back home.
I'm a political junkie, so anything that gives the United Planets more to do would be lovely! I would also love for the Terran Senate to DO something (pass bills, or whatever) other than sit around and get re-elected every so often.
I agree 1000%. Something else cool might be if you ever lose control of the Senate, the other party might do something you don't like, like declare war on someone especially if its the War Party. Or block or stop your wars if its the Pacifists
Something else that might add a nice twist to larger maps, especially ones with tight clusters, would be to somehow limit ships traveling across the vast empty reaches of space. My understanding of the galaxy is that natural lanes do exist based on the physical layout of the galaxy. It is very unlikely we will ever explore the empty regions, and limiting movement that way until the later stages of the game could make it imperative to research the right tech to explore it and send deep space cons
Maybe it's just you. I have had Precursor events on lots of different planets. Maybe you should send out scouts to find Vizzard and make sure it's you that gets all the goodies! :D
GalCiv has been a big success at retail (as well as direct). Getting PAID for those sales, on the other hand, may prove to be more challenging.
Bought mine at Wal-Mart. I'm sure they must pay their royalties. If not, I'll bring it up at the next shareholders meeting! BTW, did you have to make this game soooooooooo addictive? ;)
3D engine, not 3D map.It would still take place on a 2D plane.
Someday, somewhere far into the future (sigh), I'd really like to see a true 3D space game. It would add so much. It took me forever to convince the Senate that our ships wouldn't fall off the edge of the universe! LOL
I think number 5 should be "Torture BY Alien Cuisine." LOL
Training needs a long time to have an effect, but if you cut the training budget, soldiers' performance won't drop right away. On the other hand, logistics has a much more immediate effect - take away their ammo, and they can't fight. Give it back, and they can shoot straight away.
How true! I remember back after Hurrican Andrew when I was living in Homestead, FL, they sent in the National Guard to patrol. Great idea. Only problem was they didn't give them any ammo and th
One thing that could be added though is the idea that the further you get from your nearest planet or starbase, the more logistic points are required to maintain your fleet.
That's a great idea, but I would add that it not be just any planet you have taken. It should need to have its own orbiting space station with repair facilities and logistical support base (build all in planet queue) in order to provide logistical support. Starbases should also require upgrades to pro
Oh, GOODIE! And just in time for my birthday! :CONGRAT: (Yeah, so that's supposedly a congrat sign, but it's really me with my birthday hat on.) :D
The game desperately needs some sort of Tactical Ship-to-Ship Combat in ANY shape or form.
I agree. I think this is probably the weakest part of the game. I haven't played MOO since before some of these guys were probably born ;) but I remember it had a very nice, but basic tactical combat system. I am just wondering if it isn't implemented here for copyright reasons. [Message Edited]
Apolyton has a great system where people who dl mods and scenarios can comment on the files. Is there any hope that we can oneday have the same thing for the GalCiv Library? It would make it helpful in deciding which files to dl.
