Does anyone have a Metaverse score calculating program or spreadsheet? I need one that takes into account decay if possible. It's just my last submitted game dropped my score and I'm trying to keep that from happening again. :notsure:

What alignment do you usually choose to play as (if you play a bunch give your metaverse alignment) and why? I tend more towards evil..I just can't pass up the short term benefits sometimes. And during a war I'm not about to take a huge cut in finances, population, or soldiering! I've never even had a pure evil game, good doesn't seem to accumulate fast enough :notsure:

I can usually manage to get to 0 even on tiny maps, the key is to just be consistent and never compromise on good or normal. And of course some events have more of a bonus, and therefore more of an effect on alignment, than others.

The first way you can boost your research is in your choice of political party at the beginning of the game. Choosing the technologists will give you the biggest boost to research, or choose the universalists for a smaller boost. When you go to choose the abilities your civilization will have you have the option of putting some points into the research category. The points you can spend on improving research are as follows: Advanced (1 point) 10% Gifted (2 poi

On page six is the bonuses for your political party. The box next to the political party in game shows you which ones are applied to which party. You can only change them by selecting a different party. The ones on page 12 are the abilities you can select regardless of party using 10 points to buy abilities.

Map size matters little. I've crashed tiny maps on xp as well. Also on version 1.05. And having turned off all background programs. Put your autosave on 4-10 turns and pray mate. :notsure: I don't know about the author but I have tried the whole updating mp3 codecs deal. And I have no mods on my game, in fact it's pretty much factory default plus the update to version 1.05 and the bonus pack.

Ahh thanks I must have missed it the first time. :) Do you happen to know with alignments though what margin of error you have? For example HyperSoldiers I never saw in my last game but did a tech victory. JavaScout says alignment 45 to get it and I was 49 for quite a while and possibly below that. :notsure:

1) A scroll bar that you can hold down the arrow on in the research screen, instead of having to click multiple times. 2) Antimatter weapons reclassified as a military tech. 3) Fix the bug on the archive summary screen so you can read the entire summary, since the long ones are usually cut off and there is no way to scroll. 4) Be able to have survey ships scan the map in order to update the view instead of just pursuing anomolies.

A very minor bug. On the archives summary screen for research the techs with long summaries are cut off and you can't read the whole thing. Perhaps a scroll bar is in order? And while we are talking scroll bars would it be possible to make it so on the research tech screen you could hold down the arrow to scroll instead of having to keep clicking?
And a longer time to press the space bar during invasions.
I thought it actually helped improve the odds. Do you mean it lingers on higher numbers longer? I wasn't aware there was a limit, maybe I always just hit it too fast.

Yeah I actually downloaded the strategy guides and manual and read them the night before I got the game. Does anyone know if there is a documentation of the changes somewhere, I like to plan especially my party in advance and the manual isn't very accurate there.
Also, I think what he's asking for is a hotkey that presses the "Done" button on any of the hundreds of dialogs that GalCiv pops up all the time. If there is such a hotkey, I want to know what it is too!
The esc button seems to do that for me.
