The tricky part with targa files is that you have to have an alpha channel in it that define the visible and the transparent part of the image. In Photoshop you make a selection of all your layers, go into channels, create a new one, and fills it with the paintbucket, then you'll have the alpha channel and the tga file is ready for use. You have to use this procedure to create toolbaricons in SkinStudio. If you have your doubts, try to open an existing tga file, and check the channels.

I'm using the most rescent version of SkinStudio (not a beta), and it's in Category view. I learned from Adni, that it's not possible to change it at this time, so I'll have to change the background color - but thank you very much for your time!
Thanks Koasati! But... The normal color was white, I changed it to black (R:0 G:0 B:0) and saved it, applied the skin, and it had not changed. I opened the skin in SkinStudio again, and the normal color was changed back to white. Is this feature possible to apply?
I have only little left to finish before my WB skin is complete, however I've encountered a problem I hope someone here can help me with: It's the color of the text in normal state in the Control Panel, the way it is now, the text is white and black on mouseover. Where can I change that in SkinStudio?
I think it might be fun if we were able to see which countries the people who download our work are from, like in percentage or something. Say I've had 3.241 downloads and 1.296 of those came from Spain. That's 40%, then I could start wondering why my work is so popular in Spain. This could exceed to other variables like type of browser, region, gender, or even age if a database could do that, and we were to give that input, we'd have to change our account for that I guess. It's another way of g
Maybe by altering the autostart settings in the properties of the drive? You could accidently have checked it off somehow.
Go to Microsoft.com or find the link on the left bar at geeknewz.com and download PowerToy for Windows. It's a handy little app by MS to change the "hidden" features of Windows. There's an option to change it back. Hope this helps you out.
Create a shortcut to CursorXP and place it in the Start folder under Documents and Settings.
I tried WinExpose too from http://www.winexpose.com it doesn't run smoothly on my 3 GHz P4 and 1.5 GB ram. And it doesn't exactly do what Expose on mac do. It takes screenshots and scales them in different corners, where you can pick the one you're looking for. IMO it's not that good, but hey it's only 10 bucks. I believe to have read that an Expose-like feature is something Microsoft have been messing with for several years, but not implemented in Windows. Sort of like virtual desktops you can
Aye that's the rub!
About Microsoft making their own computers: I think they actually are, if you've followed the Longhorn hype, you would probably have seen the prototype, it's been mentioned in the media as well, at least here in Denmark. It's kind of Mac'ish, has a widescreen and a placeholder for a handheld PDA and a webcam. I've seen it several times on various screenshots found via winsupersite.com I think...otherwise look at osnews.com, neowin.net, xbetas.com and geeknewz.com, they usually post stuff like th
I got a new machine during Christmas and New Year, P4 3.0 GHz with Hyperthreading, Asus P4C800 mobo, 1.5 GB DDR PC3200 ram and a Sapphire Radeon 9600 XT, which also included a free copy of Half Life 2 when it's released, so if your getting a new graphics card think ATI. They've got this special deal to offer consumers...
Especially if you've read how some of the enemies attack... The minimum requirements are speculations, we'll get the officials from ID some day.
Just got this off of planetdoom.com: What kind of gaming rig am I going to need to run this puppy? easiest way to sum it up is a Pentium 4 or Athalon XP, 512 megs of RAM and a top end video and sound card will give you the full experience of DOOM III. Although 1GHz CPU 256MB RAM GeForce or Radeon 7xxx series card will be sufficient to play at a minimum. So older machines should have a chance too <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/events.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Woohoo, we don't have to wait much longer for the new Doom 3. I just pre-ordered it from EB Games with a little bonus figurine. It should ship in early April, perhaps even late March! (Let's see how that goes). Check http://www.doom3.com for a trailer, screenshots, desktops and links to the pre-order. I'm just afraid that once I get my hands on this baby, I'm not gonna be able to play it...I think my ass might pinch a tear every minute, cause this is gonna be creepy. We should expect th
Extensis Suitcase or BitStream Font Navigator.
I got here in the search for a dock for Windows. First I used Y'z (still do), but now I use ObjectDock over Y'z. It was just a matter of time before I started doing stuff for this community. After all I've downloaded from here I'd better upload some too! It's turned into my favorite hobby in no time...think I'll stick to here until I die...
Holy crap, that's a lot! Way to go!
I thought X-Icons was a well known web site? It started with Mac OSX icons about 3 years ago I think, the XP section opened sometime this year I believe. An author can post on several sites...WinCustomize isn't THE site. You'll see Steve Smiths work here, at X-Icons and Deviant Art, Jairo's work here and at ThemeXP i.e. I don't think other people are posting in their names, come on.
I have the Plextor PX-708A, it costs 2.000 DKK, which is about $280. Quite expensive but really good, supports all formats with a max speed at 8X. I'd go with the Plextor, they're known for q uality.
We'll probably see some when WA5 is officially released, as of now it's at RC10 (?), so it won't be too long I guess. I think I read something about the "Modern skin" being somewhat like WA3, built up with images and xml. Just checked the Winamp folder to make sure, png's and xml. So if someone know xml, they could begin messing around with it. I find the modern skin much faster than WA3 skins, but a little slower than WA2 skins.
Perhaps it's a question of memory. How much RAM do you have installed? How many apps are you running at the same time?
Heh heh, anything and everything with a pulse Of course there are more talented skinners/graphic designers out there who are ripped more often than my silly two times. Sure I shouldn't complain then, but that's not in my nature. If you don't speak, you won't get heard.
Way to go Skinner Bones. Keep 'em coming
Oh freakydyboohoo you might think , have you ever heard of moral? Being ripped just once is too many. I have a hard time understanding peoples lack of respect for other peoples work.
