Don't know if Window- or WebBlinds can do this, but Y'z Toolbar can. So at least it's possible, I really hope it gets implemented if not yet.

A TGA file can only be transparent if it contains an alpha channel. Once you have your shape in a layer, hold ctrl and click the layer (ctrl+shift if the shape consists of several layers), then go to channels and make a new one. A channel called aplha channel (or something like that) should appear, it's completely black, just fill your s election with white. The white fill is the magic key, since ít defines which part of the TGA is visible. All the black is the transparent areas. You could even

Maybe it's because you have an image with several frames and the first one happens to completely white, I think SS shows the first frame of an image...? Also make sure you have your alpha channels set up correctly, that could be another place to look.

I guess I could do a quick Illustrator, the way I do icons is by doing the base forms in Illustrator then polishing it up in PS. The -shadow effect in Illustrator isn't good (it's sort of pixel-square-like-thingy-not pretty-etc) and there's no support for transparent gradients, so already I would exclude the gloss and shadow parts... The gloss effect could probably be overwon by opacity and blends. [Message Edited]

Well I'm kind of a newbie in skinning, so each time I sit down and do something I learn a little more, luckily I'm a fast learner. I won't be entering with a hardcore creative design (I think the next one will - found my inspiration...), but instead a nice looking skin that's very easy to use on a regular basis. Actually my WB skin is done, but I'll hold it until my IP is ready. That is truly not something that's done in a week. I tend to think a lot of people are holding theirs back too, polish

At work, I'm lucky to use the 20" Apple Cinema Display. It's really nice to work with, because you can have all the tools on the sides and concentrate on the important stuff in the middle. I'm probably gonna make my company's new website, and in reward, my boss will get me a LCD monitor. I just don't know which one to choose. Of course the colors have to be nice, sharp and reliable, as I'm going to do plenty of work in PS. One option is ViewSonic's VP201s. It's got great reviews in sev

I started my WindowBlinds skin last saturday, and today all I need are animations and Start Menu animation + minor corrections. So I should have it ready this weekend perhaps. Then next part are the icons. I've started those too, but there's a long way to go. I have to do the other stuff too like Pixtudio, otherwise I wouldn't stand a chance It all looks really great, however I don't have a specific theme fo

Well my Mail-Online.dk account have been bombed with the latest viruses about 10 each day, and that mail account is only public known here and on my own website. My two other mail accounts have gone free. I doubt heavily that Stardock has sold it, I believe that spammers/hackers/virus writers/Microsoft haters/linux morons etc. searched every corner of the web for e-mail adresses, and might have stumbled across this site too. How hard can it be to program a little app that looks for e-mail adress

Have that problem too. Another thing that bugs me is the shadow under the taskbar... If you change through various apps and click the taskbar, the shadow disappear for a short period of time - like a blink. And the shadow is also defined by the window shadow, which I think is a major boo boo, cause it'll look weird with every shadow applied. Therefore I suggest a seperate shadow for the taskbar. Making it look just as perfect as the one provided by Yz.

I went from an Athlon 1800 to a P4 3 GHz (overclocked by 5% at this time at 3.15 GHz), and it runs like a leopard. Of course there's an obvious difference in speed, but even with that in mind I think my P4 PC runs better than my previous Athlon, but perhaps that has something to do with the other hardware? I thought about getting the Athlon FX, but then I thought why now? There's no 64-bit version of Windows yet (I think 64-bit Windows XP is coming this year though), and why not wait until Longh

First you install the app ObjectDock (link given by Koasati). If you want to change the background and other settings click the "Configure Dock" icon. If you want to add an application to the dock, simply drag the *.exe to the dock. If you want to remove an app from the dock, then drag it off again. If you want to change the icon so it looks better, right-click one and click "Dock Item Properties" and "Set Image" or "Change Image". The icons you download from WinCustomize must be in the ObjectDo

PP was not aware. PP remembers the next time. However, it's still good to know how tga files work, and how they can be made. Other applications may not be as helpful as SkinStudio...
