Obviously, after we were done blowing ourselves up we realized that we were doomed and dedicated all of our few remaining natural resources to "Project Chrono-Restore," in which we were able to send a small group back in time to several different periods in an attempt to steer history down a different path. It makes perfect logical sense to me. ~SDC~

You can still play through it until the Draginol come if you just keep going back to PreviousAutoSave. You lose two turns every time, which I guess would be a real pain on a Gigantic galaxy, but you could still get through the game. The Draginol themselves are no big deal, just put a few good ships around the planet before they show up and evacuate the entire population. Just leave them sitting in Combat Transports surrounding the planet, ready to land as soon as the Draginol show up. <B

I doubt it takes all its starting picks with strategy in mind before the game starts, but I think it does know that +100% PQ is better than +20% Economics. It probably has a random factor thrown in to keep it from picking the same thing every time. ~SDC~

I think I saw the Alexians as good a few games back, and I know I've seen them as evil a few times. I'm not sure how the AIs choose their parties, but a while back I made a political party mod that doubled PQ. The AI picked that a lot, but there were always a few in every game who used a standard party (not the same few). So how much advantage they get is definately important, but not the only factor. ~SDC~

Hey, I can see it under the software tab labeled as Shareware. I thought the beta was a super-special Drengin.net only sneak peak. What gives? (I didn't try to download it. I like to have most of the bugs ironed out before I play a game.) ~SDC~
In the diplo screen, I started a bc slider proposal, but then exited the diplo screen without closing the bc slider popup. The popup remained on the screen with the diplo screen closed. I haven't had this happen in previous versions (the popup has always closed with the diplo screen).
It definately does happen in 1.13 with the Attack and Make Peace popups. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

I usually keep my military spending at zero when I'm not at war or building constructors. And if the game goes on long enough then eventually you get to the point where you've built everything you want to build, so in the late game you might even set social spending to zero. Basicly, don't spend money on stuff you don't need. ~SDC~

In the last version (1.12) I had a terror star sitting right between the Arcean's only two systems waiting for their offensive ships to move far enough away that they wouldn't be able to get back to the terror star in the time between when it could blow up the one system and when it could blow up the other. Built it right there, and it sat there for several turns with nary a peep from them. Maso level. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

It should be in a file called bonustechs.tech. The Excalibur ship itself should be in excalibur.ship. Looking through the .tech files is probably less of a hassle than researching the entire tech tree in game. Less likely to miss something, too, I'll bet. ~SDC~

The cultural-victory-o-meter in the options menu doesn't show you how much influence you have, it shows you how close you are to the victory condition. You control 96% of 90% of the galaxy. Count the blue sectors. (Drop some colonists on a low quality planet in the middle of your rival's empire to turn some of those squares blue.) I don't know what's up with the tech-victory-o-meter, but it's always been like that as far as I know. You've got one more tech to go--Final Frontier. (G

Maybe to keep people from avoiding the cost of building one when you have lots by buying one prebuilt? I think that resource starbases at least are something that the AI shouldn't give up. Human players are just too good at taking advantage of them. For the AI to give the human an influence resource when they ask for one is suicide, regardless of what they get in return. ~SDC~

The version on the website is 1.10, the version on Stardock Central is 1.13. There's probably a new version in the not too distant future, too. Everything is available on Stardock Central first. 1.10 hasn't been the most recent for weeks . ~SDC~

That isn't a bad policy, actually. Now that the invisible ship bug is being fixed I just know that one Saturday I'll glance at my clock and realize that I've been playing for six hours. There was a game for the Super Nintendo called Earthbound, and when you'd been playing it for a long time your character would get a call on his cell phone from his dad suggesting that he should take a break. I like that. :) That was a great game. ~SDC~
3. Be Paitent , VERY PAITENT only click the submission button ONCE to send, it will seem as though nothing is happening, honestly, go make a coffee, weed the garden or something, as long as you have followed points 1+2 correctly it will log your score, it just takes a while thats all. It will then drop you back to the main menu with a little window saying something about test send / errors 0, click done then go find your score on the Metaverse
Alt-tab out of the game, c
