If you bought the game in a store the serial number is on the back of the case. If you bought it online from Stardock they should have emailed you the serial number. If you lost the email go to this website http://www.stardock.com/support.asp and put in the email address you used to order and they'll send it to you again.

PJ is just my first two initials. Peter James Weisberg. I just sent in the request to be added to the blog group, so I guess you'll have it soon. eradicus, I just submited my first mod to Megatron's site a few days ago. It's in the Improvements section. It's be nice if I could get some feedback from somebody who knows what they're doing. What do you think of it?

I really really agree with the idea that started this thread. You can destroy planetary improvements on the Details screen (button in the bottom left corner of the planet screen). Highlight it and click on "Cancel Project".

Ok, I'm in. I just joined up, moving the PanGaea Cooperative up to 14th place. (I also changed my nickname, in case anybody got confused.) I posted an origin story for myself on a joeuser blog http://pj.joeuser.com/channels.asp . And now it's 2:35am, and I have to go to bed. Goodnight. ~SDC~

PJ was born on Earth in the year 2155. His family was one of humble means, but still he was able to attend one of Earth's top universities on an academic scholarship. Though he excelled in most subjects, he never found the particular field that was right for him. Though he attended several PanGaeanist parties at university it wasn't until several years later that h

Should be right there in GalCiv's main directory. It was there automatically when I updated to the first version that used it. Make sure you did a clean install of the right version (1.13.080 is on Stardock Central right now). ~SDC~

One time I was allied with the Altarians, but was far ahead of them in military technology (Overlords vs. Dreadnaughts) and had 3 fully mined military resource bases, so I wanted to take them over for a military victory. They were allied with the Torians, who had a single planet over in the corner. I still wanted to be able to trade with the Torians, so I sent all 10 trade routs their way, got an alliance, and attacked the Altarians soon after. Torians sided with me. So they don't always sid

Why not just ally with the other one and win that way? There is a chance that if you go to war with the second AI then the first AI, your ally, will side with you against the second. I'm not sure what determines which way they'll go. I'd recomend making sure your military is stronger and you're doing more trade with the first AI than the second AI is, just in case one of those is the determining factor. The only other time I've seen an AI alliance break up is when they got t

You can only get the latest version. Believe me, it's better than the one before that. ;) Cari has already come up with a fix for it, though. Just follow the instructions in this post. http://www.galciv.com/browser/msgboard.asp?id=117859&BoardID=GF#117952 ~SDC~

GalCiv Writer can be used to make mods really easily. http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm The annoying thing is that it expects all the files to be in their standard locations (hasn't been updated since the mods folder was added) and it decides where it wants to save the mods it creates. You can just select what abilities you want from a drop down menu and enter an ammount. It also tells you the "value" of what the ability bonuses you give the parties are, though I don't know how it comes u

Whenever I notice my overall morale starting to dip I go through the planet list and set all the planets with morale below 90 or so to build another morale improvement. If there aren't any more to build I try to research one as soon as possible. I usually keep my taxes at 33% for pretty much the whole game. Also, I try to get my hands on all the trade goods that boost morale & pop. growth. I do pretty good on population. Does that help any? ~SDC~

To tell the truth, pretty much the only reason I joined Adventurers Inc. was because I was jealous of all these people with neat logos under their names. ;) And it was kinda neat to see it climb in the ranks when I submited scores. So what kinda stuff do you do in PanGaea, anyway? ~SDC~

I used MS Photo Editor to make them 8bit. http://www.cs.rit.edu/~pjw9720/logos.ZIP I think the small grapes logo stands out better on the election screen. The way the hedonists2 logo blends into the background just doesn't look right to me when it's that small (though it does look nice in the large version). ~SDC~

I had a Battleship and a Combat Transport in a fleet. I tried to move it into the next sector and it said it was out of range. But when I broke up the fleet I could move both ships into that sector. I had just researched Gravity Mastering that turn, so it was out of range last turn but shouldn't have been this turn. ~SDC~

If you ment that you want to see the whole tech tree in the game, just right click on a tech. It doesn't mention what the alignment requirements are, though. ~SDC~

Your population will grow as long as your morale is above 53 (and it will grow twice as fast if your morale is 100), so definitely build Entertainment Networks, Multimedia Centers, etc. when it starts to dip. The general consensus is that Virtual Reality Centers aren't worth the high maintenance, though. Morale is proportional to PQ, and there are caps on production and income based on PQ, so high PQ is definately important. Also, planets with PQ of 14 recieve no income, and planets
... should only be installed after you complete your current game.
It worked fine for me when I changed the file in the middle of a game. I only removed the HyperWarp prerequisite, since I didn't remember what the proper prerequisite was, but I see no reason why changing it instead would cause a proble. ~SDC~
