I think the icons and animations are not skinned with the free version of windowblinds. Probably the easiest way to fix the rtl60.bpl problem is to install skinstudio.

I am definitely looking forward to dx3. It sounds like it's a bit of a quantum leap away from dx2. Will there be many scriptable plugins released with it? I like the idea of being able to interact with the plugins via scripting.
Tony - I'm not really sure about that, maybe the animations aren't skinned in the free version of windowblinds. I have had the paid version of windowblinds since before skinning those was even possible so I have absolutely no idea if it's a feature of the paid version or whether you are experiencing a glitch. I can tell you that it's nothing to do with desktopx tho
looks great wicked might have to steal the alpha start menu idea for a cabal wb update will try and email you re the permissions asap - been super busy and also away alot lately... (got some nice cabal drives thingamies in the works atm that you might like)
Actually we went the other way around. With DesktopX 3 you only need ONE script to manage the whole widget or application. that sounds like a great way of going about things, looking forward to trying out the new callbacks and centralized scripts
Okay Brad, I was just curious Personally, I imagine I will be saving up for DesktopX Pro and possibly submitting a widget or two to DesktopGadgets.com. I presume that widgets created with the pro version can also be submitted to the regular wc widget library?
ok, alot of the article sounds very exciting, however, I have a question. To be able to utilise objects, widgets and desktops created by other people costs $14.95... so far, so good. BUT, for the privilege of working on widgets for countless hours (sometimes weeks or even months) to provide the content for the people who are paying $14.95.... is going to cost $24.95? I can't help thinking that this can only slow down widget creation/i
I would like the ability to change the shortcut target of an object with script - this would be especially handy for folder objects. It is possible to make an object act like a shortcut with script already apart from missing out on the handy context menu of a native dx shortcut. Also, scripted access to the system clipboard would be nice. And scripted manipulation of font size and style would be great.
desktopx and objectbar, author - some guy.... I heard he likes tea or something...
I think it's a great idea also it would be great if there more inline autocomplete wizard thingies such as is found in the flash actionscript editor...
Alberto - I am finding 2.40f[a].002 mostly stable and am enjoying alot of the new features the only major problem I am encountering is that in some widgets I am making that have scripts in multiple objects, some of the scripts are not initialising properly. It is as though the Object_OnScriptEnter sub is not firing. In some cases they will initialise only after I interact with them - by clicking or dragging them for example. I imagine this is
another factor which may render the shellstyles invisible is if the top left pixel of the shellstyles image does not exactly match the colour of the background (this is for the large folder shellstyles images)
the only thing I'm doing in addition to the toolbar icons, are the buttons, radio buttons, and checkboxes I am doing a Firefox skin to go with a wb skin I am working on...wb seems to skin the buttons, radio buttons and checkboxes? I am basically skinning any icons I can find, that little red cl

I love dx, I am a staunch user and developer of widgets...or at least I have been until the last couple of months. The present build basically just doesn't work properly. I could roll back to an earlier non-alpha version but I would lose alot of ground on my current projects which rely on the newest version. My fault really for updating to the newest pre-release versions whenever they become available. Once the new version is finalised and sta
hold down shift when you double click the folder item in the list and it will open its config menu instead of the menu contents? not sure if that's what you mean, but anyway...I am currently playing around with ob and I have found that I can define icon sizes for any element type one way or the other another tip (which I discovered today by accident) - create a new multifunction item somewhere and set it to "show advanced theme edito
not sure why that wouldn't work but you can try this instead: Function Object_OnLButtonUp(x, y, Dragged) If dragged Then savesettings End If End Function
agreed, dx has such a huge variety of possible configurations that there must be one perfect setup for every single user I like the toggleable netcentric objects suggestion from essencay
List of hobbies: skinning windowblinds making dx objects making wallpapers skinning rainys ok, you can probably see where this is going... sometimes I take time out to walk the dog, watch movies, cook and eat food and of course...drink tea occasionally I sleep
I think one of the problems with the latest alpha version of dx is in the Object_OnScriptEnter phase of scripts. I am by no means certain as the problems I have been experiencing have been quite random and do not seem to occur every single time - but as far as I can tell this is where some of the problems lie. This means that any script which initialises variables and starts timers and so on from within the Object_OnScriptEnter subroutine will
I wish I could help but unfortunately I too am finding the latest builds of dx to be extremely problematic - so much so that I have sadly had to stop any widget development. With the wealth of new features that the dx team are adding I guess it's not really a surprise that there are teething troubles, but every new build seems to fix something, add something and break something.
SD - yes thanks on reflection my list should read: worst - pneumonia best - recovering
best - wacom tablet worst - pneumonia
on the last tab of any object's properties dialog you can hit the custom files button and attach any files you wish to be included, the path will be object.directory&filename
