Well you seem to have gotten your answer already, but to add my 25 cents ( damn inflation! ) I bought the Windows Ultimate retail vesion and you have the option of 32 or 64 bit. I installed 32 bit for now because of two big reasons - drivers and Object Desktop. Once they are availible and running in 64 bit versions, you can bet I'll be doing a fresh clean install again with 64bit.

Well for what it's worth, I took the jump to Windows Vista Ultimate a couple of days after release. I still miss Duke Nukem, but that hasn't run since Windows95. I am mostly happy with it, but there are the odd quirks here and there. My X-Fi sound card will quit working while playing EQ2, but I just downloaded (another) new driver for it today so we'll see how that goes. The transition from XP to Vista seems to have went much better than with other upgrades. Here's a refresher for those who migh

Before I get on my rant I just want to point out "Each day no WinCustomize, we reject..." I think it should read day at WinCustomize. (Sorry, couldn't help it.) Although I would love to see some cool WindowBlinds showing stuff from Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings, or other movies, I understand that there are copyright issues involved. Since the beginning o

hmm, thanks for the responses. I guess now is a good time for me to dust off some of my programming skills and try it. I'll let you know what I can dig up, or if anyone has more programming experience and wants to try it, let's see what we can come up with.

When I first subscribed to Object Desktop, I loved OE. As I used it more and more, I found more and more limitations, (many of which have been mentioned by thomassen earlier) and ended up switching to Notepad++. I have it on my USB key, my U3 drive (similar to USB key), my desktop and my laptop. Basically, I like it a lot. Not to knock your program, Dru, but take a look at Notepad ++ and see what can be done better, and what features you might like to add into OE. Looking at your post, you seem

I was just wondering a couple of things: is anyone else interested in seeing stateful icons in the system tray, and from Stardock - is this possbile to do? I have seen some other posts touching on this, but what I kind of miss/would like to see is a way of changing some of the icons on the system tray tab. Similar to a power indicator that I had seen a while back, it would be nice to change the ugly default icon for "On AC Power", or better yet, the other icons for the battery/power ind

Yeah besides Al Gore invented the internet and everything on it. Seriously though, thanks for sharing the laugh with us. I don't very seriously that anyone wants to try and narrow down who did what first. When it's a truly good, original idea, people will know it right a

One problem with this - if you can't access stardock, wincustomize or other Stardock affiliate sites, you might not be able to access this thread! See? The community spirit does live on at Wincustomize! One flaw though - will anyone else post before it gets close to 100? I figured I don't need the subscription so I would help eek it ever closer to 100. How about if it reaches 100, pulling the time stamp from the 100th posters post and giving it to that person?

This again? was anyone able to track down what is causing this? At least the last time I stumbled on one of these, I learned a little bit about Psych! But this time the link was in recent Tutorials, and I didn't learn anything!

The only problem that I have using the Wincustomize browser is that even when I force it to scan for updates, it still doesn't seem like the newest, latest and greatest skins show up in the list. When you update software, like WB5, or when DX3 came out, I like to see what authors are doing with the new features, so having the newest ones show up in the list becomes kind of important. So I find myself often just coming to the web-site. If there is somet

Congratulations Stardock - another fine application update. This newest addition adds to the value of my ObjectDesktop subscription! Now for the Pandora's box - now I am eagerly awaiting the WinFX, RightClick and ObjectBar updates so that they all play nicely again! Glad to hear that iseekserendipity. I hope you can find a way to help WC, and I'm sure Stardock does too! Just remember - don't get caught at work changing your whole desktop environment more than once per week (but the WB 5.0 was a good excuse this morning!)

Brad - Thanks for the evaluation and consideration of mine and others opinions. I value your opinions, and it's nice to get feedback from a site-admin. I'm sure that a solution will present itself in time, thank you for looking at all the possibilities before making a decision. Miss iseekserendipity - if you get stuck, and Stardock can't help you out with your purchases, get in touch with me and we can find out a way for you to get your mone

For the cost of WinCustomize, Stardock could purchase prime time TV spots for commercials Television? What's that? Oh yeah, my parents used to use it to get the news, and watch movies on, before the Internet allowed us to verify news stories, and subscription based movie rental places allowed us to watch as

hmm, as a ODNT subscriber, and a wincustomize subscriber I might be a little biased but here's a fairly long-time users take: I bought ODNT because of the software: great apps, don't need to worry about updates, I always have the coolest desktop functionality (IMNSHO of course! ) on the block. I originally purchased a WC subscription because of: 1

I think that Apple will try to get into the communications hardware next. With Intel supplying chips they might be able to push out a phone/internet browser/iPod/video conferencing/e-mail... okay, well you get the picture - an all in one, small communications device. Sure Motorola makes chips for phones as well, but Apple has had many issues with supply from them. (Not entirely Motorola's fault - Apple's ideas of what consumers will want has always bee

It's all about choice. Now can Stardock convince developers that theirs is the right choice? There were products of a similar on the Mac before Konfabulator, then Konfabulator, then Dashboard. I don't see Window Blinds going away just because of Vista, or XP even. Remember the promises about customization with XP? Stardock did it better IMHO, and I will continue to support them as long as they do so. Having close to 0 talent, I hadn't given
