I liked the preview of WB5 too, thank! But what is up with the two different times in the bottom corner?

For those that have visited deviantArt, both recently and in the past, it is a shame that this situation has gotten to this point. I unfortunately see the people who will be hurt the most are the talented artists on the site. I'm not prejudiced against lawyers, I mistrust all of them, but I know of no situations in legal history where artists have benefitted from lawyers. I am not an artist, and do not claim to be, I am just an admir
I can see some practical uses for a "click-less" interface, more of a vertical market type thing (To use a catch-phrase). Presentation based software might be a good example. Have you ever tried to add different paths, each link requiring a click, while using one of those annoying wire-less trigger mice? I can't seem to get the hang of it no matter how many times I use one. A clickless interface might be usefull there. I can also see possibly coding a
Well for what it's worth, I have a "fully loaded" system running almost everything from Object Desktop, and Object Dock+ with 8 tabs. With all this running the grand total: 69,200 K. To contrast, the windows processes: 133, 540 K. Now before someone jumps all over the edited screen shot of these processes below, I do understand that some of the resources in svchost.exe ARE used up by the Object Desktop stuff I have running. But for me, having a new cus
Although I'd like to see a suite contest (most original, most complete, best new experience, etc.); I think it would make some good marketing sense to have a DX3 contest. I love trying out new themes and really appreciate all the hard work that goes into a complete suite; but a DX3 contest might encourage more development into the themes, widgets and objects. Also, by limiting it to just DX3, you still have some variety - best overall theme, best widge
Yep, I'd buy it.
Too bad there wasn't a way to record how hard and fast the keys were hit during the creation of a post (i.e. pounding on the keys), and adding that to the form! This way, it can be added to the database. Once a thread got to threat level burnt sienna (we will push the terror alert everywhere! ) the thread could stop accepting posts for a while, or be flagged requiring
Mike, I think there is some excellent advice here, asking artists whose work you admire, how they got a particular effect is probably the best way to go. Add to that your own creativity and you may come up with something unique and exciting. I myself do not have the talent like some of those artists do here, and in the case of Chadamus and Mormegil, I have either purchased their suites or donated for a theme that I have used. I realize that this isn't
I wonder how Longhorn will affect / help Stardocks applications? Will WindowBlinds become obsolete, or will it just evolve (similar to the evolution possible with XP) to extend the capabilities / features of Avalon? I'm sure the people at Stardock have already thought about this, but as an "outsider" I was just looking to see if they have some tidbits of information about the future for us. And of course they are going to market the fact that they enab
Yeah, I'd like a downloadable version too. chm or pdf, I'm not picky!
Nah, I'm not going 64-bit until all of Object Desktop is 64-bit!
Using IE, this message has garbled characters on the main page but looks fine from here (where I am adding the message). Just thought I might point that out. This is the first time I've seen that.
I am very sceptical about any mergers, but I can see where this might actually help developers. I personally use Macromedia's StudioMX and Adobe's Creative Studio on a daily basis. Having an option to have Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Flash all part of one package does sound somewhat intriguing; but I have always loved the support that Macromedia has had for their products. So I think the verdict is... sceptically intrigued optimis
Cute, but didn't you guys do the same April Fools joke LAST year?
Although I tend to try not to use a mouse at all, unless I have to; since OSX is based on BSD, I was wondering how long it would take Apple to come out with the hardware to support their OS. I mean, have you ever tried to use a GUI on top of a Unix/Linux or BSD based OS, and NOT use the third mouse button? It's a pain! Still it's all about marketing, and as has been shown: that is not Apples' forte. I mean MS can market ice-cubes to Inuits, an
Can't wait for the compatibility with RightClick and others! Seems to work great.
Well for what it's worth, I am having the same issues with the .ico icons showing up in all my dialogues. I am currently using Orion - Onyx, and have tried the restart, and repair suggestions from earlier in the thread. I am also now noticing, although they may not be related, that the icons have disappeared from the left side of my SD Central app! (Although since I just downloaded an update to it last night, it MAY be from that.) I just thought it a v
Hey, I'd love to see the same thing, along with other SysTray icons that can change state like the volume, Active-Sync, and other multi-state icons. (YIM, MSN, Bluetooth status) I am not talented enough to even try, but I hope that someone can figure it out!
Hmm, I would have to agree with Develper f0r3, C++, to my knowledge is still used quite a bit. Windows isn't the only OS that is out there, and .NET is very targeted towards Windows. Although it can be a little challenging, if you are interested in learning and using it, I doubt very much that any knowledge gained would be useless. (Although I would stay away from Pascal, Cobol and the likes!) M$oft would like everyone to switch to .NET, but I don't se
Is it any widget or certain ones. I have had poor to no success with weather widgets, but CPU and colour picker ones seem to work. I am not getting the same error, and have updated DX yet again today, so I am leaning toward the individual app itself. Can you try some generic, basic widgets, clocks, and the aforementioned CPU and colour pickers, and maybe we can narrow the problem a little? Just some thoughts.
For what it's worth, another point to add might be: If you have to add something to a post / forum / other comments - read it out loud before clicking submit. People may tend to think you're strange, but sometimes hearing how it sounds may give you an idea of how it may be mis-interpreted by someone else. (Okay, maybe they think I'm strange because I read them out loud in different voices; b
>> instead of something that looks like it came from a Saturday morning cartoon Um, what if I'm using ToonXP? Awesome suite btw! I wish I had the time to waste giving advice on things that I don't understand that will be promptly dismissed!
Hmm, I guess my answer would have to be depends... Mostly on file size, but also on whether or not you have put the effort into creating different resolutions of the wallpaper. I know for me, it can be frustrating to have to download a skin and a wallpaper, so I might prefer to download everything in one file. Some designers however, have developed multiple versions of their wallpaper to work well with different resolutions. I have a widescreen laptop,
hmm, for what it's worth, I miss the ability to skin the look of the site too. After all, this IS a skinning site.
Cool, thanks Tiggz, I had the same issue. Great suite of skinning. Love, and am using almost all the K-tek stuff!
