Excellent! Looking forward to trying it out again. It was great over the weekend. I have all my icons of my installed games sitting in a fence on my desktop, and everytime I went to play something else I would think "But I really want to play elemental...", and so I would load it up and play. It is great fun despite the minor bugs, etc. Quests in general have been too easy I think, and as has been menti

Sounds like you still have malware on your computer. Try to load up the computer in safe mode and disable all non-essential start up tasks. Then run anti-virus scan and spyware scan. Once that is done, boot up in normal mode and leave the internet disconnected (to prevent virus from downloading or uploading any information). At that point run hijack this to see what is runnin
That poor merchant has no mouth! LOL Looking forward to the beta, with or without mouths.
I like the idea of having more faction specific coloring on the armor. I know they don't want to do flags, but perhaps even a UI HUD strip over the unit would help.
I should mention that since this video was taken that the min distance between cities allowed was doubled to 10 tiles.
I have to admit, that even after seeing your responsiveness over the years on several games, it still amazes me. As a software developer though, I have to say that it must be painful for some of your employees to see you sift through the forums and then schedule a '
If I understand correctly, the auto combat will use your tactical spells, the actual combat is simulated (you can see the log and see who hit who with what), so it won't immediately make tactical spells useless, they'll be as good as the AI (whether that is a good thing is up to you I suppose).
Similar problem, although I am able to get past the intro if I close the program and restart. The audio during the "old school" intro is really messed up though. AMD Phenom II X6 1055T(2.8GHz) 4 GB RAM Win 7 64 bit Gigabyte MB (770 chipset) Onboard sound ATI HD5770 1 GB edit: Maybe the ati drivers? I'm using the latest set.
There are so many free website hosting companies out there (in fact most isps offer them) that I am surprised that people don't just upload it to their site and put a link to it here. Little more work to get it setup then dropbox, but afterwards you have a site. Just a thought.
Frogboy mentioned that we are only using 2 research trees out of the 10 that will be available at launch. Granted that won't change the categories you are refering to, but should provide a bit more diversification.
I'll also add that bad network cables are definitely a reality. They can cause a lot of downtime, especially since they tend to be intermittent problems, and hard to track in large systems. While it may not be the problem with your system, you shouldn't immediately jump all over people that have experience with that sort of problem. Hope you get it figured out.
One other thing about the tech tree: Because everyone is playing either the Kingdom: Amarian (Pariden) tech tree or the Empire: Trog tech tree it's easy to forget that the Empire: Kraxis tech tree and the Kingdom: Mancer (Altar) tech trees can favor other areas significantly.
I can't believe that I didn't know we only had 2 of the tech trees out of the 10 we'll have at launch.
I agree, I have a hard time knowing who belongs to what faction. In general, I dislike having to go to the cloth map, unless I want a big strategic view of things. A Hud box over each unit on the 3d map should help.
[e digicons]k1[/e] - Great idea. I think that we should also be able to insert our own images for crests. We'll see what we can do once the modding beta starts.
Scroll wheel or mouse button 3 should work for the "middle" mouse button. I don't know the keyboard equivalent, I'm sure there will be one though.
I would love to have an option to search for posts/replies from a certain user. I know I can find posts that were started by a user, but to find replies as well. Is there such an option on these forums. I haven't found it, if there is could someone enlighten me? Thanks!
Click & hold middle mouse button and move the mouse. should allow you to change the view in both 3d & cloth map view

Same Resolution. Same problem with the eject button. :)

It will be interesting to see how it works with not being able to produce food magically. I think this will be one of those issues that goes back and forth before we see the final result. Personally, I think food as is needs to be more intuitive/obvious to the user about what they have and what they need. (sort of the idea of income/expenses of gold). Looking forward to the update, and I am finding that I choose to play...er I mean test the
Awesome! I just can't wait to see how all of this is going to come together. Thanks for the updates, they are great.
Excellent idea. This was what I was trying to get across in this post: https://forums.elementalgame.com/385831 I like your proposed solution
There are several food producing resources. You will need to use some of them to get larger cities, or as was mentioned you can use magic. Remember the land was devestated, and now you are trying to revive it, food is the great limiter on population size and therefore city size. Personally, I like the scareness of food, provides an additional resource to fight over (a realistic one at that).
Vieuxchat, is there a ongoing discussion about this that I missed somewhere? I'd like to see what ideas are being thrown around.
