I’m at home now (see #5 above) and my set-up is as follows: Political Party Populist = Morale +20 Diplomacy +20 Abilities Morale +20 Population Growth +20 Diplomacy +50 Soldiering +10 Map Settings Gigantic Galaxy Tight Clusters Common Habitable Planets Races Altarian Republic Alignment = Pure Good Intelligence = Incredible Arcean Empire Alignment = Neutra

I use Populist as well. As best as I can remember (I'm at work now) I use the +50 diplo, +20 morale, +10 soldiering, and +10 something else. At least that's been my settings for my last two maso games. I like the +10 to soldiering for those early attacks on races that are maybe too close to allow me to develop my empire. If I'm going to attack very early in the game, I launch an assault as soon as I can load a transport. I find the soldiering bonus quite beneficial as I am almost always successf

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. Tell everyone to stop by and share their experience. I’m hoping to get a large number of responses, thinking that if enough people comment, this thread and the survey will help Frogboy and the crew, formulate a marketing strategy for GalCiv II and …… er ……… uh …… oh (Bump) :HOT:

I'm playing a Maso/Gigantic map now and the only bug I've experienced is the occasional invisible ship. If it bothers me too much I just save, exit GalCiv and then load the save. When it starts up, the ships are visible again. ;) I find that when I'm playing gigantic maps if I save and re-load about every 2½ to 3 years everything goes much smoother and faster. Clears the ram (I guess :notsure: )hence less lock ups and CTDs. It only takes a minute and saves a lot of aggravation in the long run.

Then quest on my friend because there can be no doubt that for you the path to ”The Light” will be a long and arduous one. I'll continue to observe your journey for some time before coming to a conclusion regarding your subservience to the dark side. So as such, I'll continue to be wary of you until I'm convinced you've truly left the dark side behind. With that said, I wish you luck on your journey! :HOT: [Message Edited]

I just noticed that FotR has a 532,524 point lead on the quickly rising Special Forces Empire. I think this is pretty amazing since as best as I can recall, our lead was less than 200k just last week! Good job everyone! Keep up the good work and remember we must remain vigilant through these chaotic times in the Metaverse! It’s hard being first! Long live the Fellowship! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
When i try and click on the menu tab, my computer freezes up completely and i have to restart the machine manually.
That happened to me a couple of times. I went back to an earlier "save game" and that took care of the problem. In my case, the most recent "save game" seemed to be corrupted in both instances, thus reverting to an earlier save took care of it. :)
Greldon,Congrats on winning your first Maso games over the weekend!
Thanks Ray. I didn't think tiny map game would ever end. The UP outlawed terror stars before I had enough enfluence to swing the vote my way. On the other hand, the small map game ended quite unexpectedly before I could even get my moral up. I built a lot of SBs early in the game (a constructor is pretty cheap and the AI sees the SBs as military strength) to keep the hostiles off my back. As soon as I co
The point is that we keep complaining about the small details of the game, this game is not perfect and we will never be satisfied 100% with the game because each player has a different style of game, I like for the starbases to add more points not to add less influence points, specially in a game where my military is lower than the AIs, the AI's receive plenty of advantage from the beginning of the game, they know where the best planets are, 90% of the time they get the Wonders before yo
