Switching between the two can be a little less than ideal, I usually see it in the taskbar buttons - I think they sometimes get stuck on the Win10 default. Don't know that I've ever seen the two mix, but...? My routine is that I tend to stay in one or the other, and log out/in after switching between the two.

Now this is my kind of slab, yum:
Ouch. Whacking yourself with an axe is like whacking yourself with a hammer and a relatively dull knife at the same time, the best of both worlds. Glad everything held together for you.
Poking around on the internet with a browser that's logged into your MS account. Imagine the fun the hackers will have with that once they get it figured out. What could possibly go wrong. Thanks yet again for the heads-up.
Does anything return the ability of having toolbars on the taskbar?
I haven't seen anything mentioned. One thing you can do though is add a directory of shortcuts to the Start Menu an have it display as a menu, one extra click compared to a taskbar toolbar. This is where it is on the Win7 and Modern styles, on the Win10 and Win11 styles it's a little different layout but you're still adding a Quick Access s

On the Window frames/Per Pixel/Borders/Caption/[Painting] tab, set it to tile: I'm not sure that the "Tile" settings on the right side of the margins still work, the margins may stretch regardless. Anyway, you'll need to get the margins set precisely right to get a smooth tile.
I tried to get on board with this mentally, but I just can't. At this point the focus needs to be on Earth, all hands on deck.
Well that's the pits. How are you feeling?
Thanks for the heads-up. I won't have to worry about a re-install, not running 11, but it's nice to know what they're doing. Tracking, advertising, legitimate programs might not install or run. Hard to tell if I'm describing an operating system or malware.
Is Windows 11's current model really sustainable long term?
Sure it is. Not a lot of options out there for the mainstream pc user, Mac of course, but Linux etc. is a bit of a hobby. Besides, MS did their fair share of yanking around on Win10. What it will probably kill is the near-term adoption rate, the time period before Win10 support ends. Even if all my favorite software got updated for Win11 tomorrow, I'm still not going to run
Excellent, thanks for confirming.
Go into WB config / Settings and check this box: Then make a Chrome shortcut: This is the full text of the Target, a copy/paste: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -disable-wi
But we have had the update of being able to add images in the forums without needing a 3rd party hosting site. (To be clear, not the slightest hint of sarcasm in there. I think it's awesome.)
Neither Object Dock nor DesktopX is supported on Win10. You may or may not have luck running either program. I'm pretty sure that the Object Dock weather won't work anymore, I believe the information feed for it was cut off years ago. The same is true for a lot of DesktopX weather widgets and gadgets, but I think there are some in the gallery that will work all though I have completely lost track of which those might be. Also, widgets require that DesktopX be install
I did fool around for a couple of minutes with a good-sized image of the moon that I had around. This looked like it had some potential - I cropped the wallpaper down to a square around the moon, making a basically square image of a moon on a black background. Then I resized that image, resizing and distorting the round moon, to 1920x1080 and loaded it into the ball, and the ball basically reverses the distortion. If I used the "Periodic" motion setting in the Ball Effect
If I understand him correctly - and I may not be - he's referring to the DreamMaker.exe program that also ships with DeskScapes. It resides in C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes\DreamMaker and you can double-click it to run it. I don't believe there is a shortcut to it installed. It's more of a dream packaging tool than a creative tool. I haven't played with the Glass Ball effect a lot, but it's easy enough to play with. You might be able to come u
how do I shut that down?
Open up the DeskScapes configuration window. Click on "Settings" in the lower left. Select "Settings" from the popup menu. Click on the "Advanced" tab in the Settings window that pops up. Uncheck the third item down, "Show DeskScapes icon in the system tray".

What version of Windows are you running, Windows10 or Windows11? Curtains is not yet compatible with Windows11. Also, if you are on Windows10, you might try deleting the theme and re-installing it from your original download, in case you may have accidentally changed its shadow settings.
A example of what I am looking for is the windows 7 aeroglass curtains theme by UK58, or Cirrus,
There's a good chance they built them into the shadow images. Make a copy of one of them, then look at the shadow images and settings, including on the "Advanced" tab. I say to make a copy first because it's very easy to accidentally overwrite the custom shadow images and lose the settings, depending on how their image files were named.
