I want to let you know upfront that like most of the other posters here I don't work for Stardock - I don't want you to get annoyed with them for things that I don't know. It sounds like you bought Object Desktop after the themes were released, that's probably why you're not seeing them. You might try emailing Stardock at and asking about the Gloss themes, they may or may not fix you up, I don't know. Regard
All that will do is back up the themes and a few other files. Backing up the themes one way or another is of course a good idea, but it won't provide for a program re-install. I don't know of any way to do it. Somebody else might I suppose.
Jimehc - the themes are made available to OD subscribers who have subscriptions at the time the themes are released. They don't accumulate - someone who buys/subcribes to Object Desktop today doesn't get the themes that have already been released, they get the themes released aftwerwards while their subscription is still active. There are 4 free themes (the one you already have and 3 more) which you can get here: <a href="https://www.stardock.com/products/mycolors/g
and where did you get those .suite (including Gloss-Burgundy update ...) ?
Neophil click on the link in reply #9 of this thread. You should see a Wincustomize page with all your registrations on it. Scroll down to the "MyColors Gloss"s, click on the 2nd download link for each one. Those links are zip files which include the .suite files.
Are the new ones going to be available as unencrypted windowblinds like Gloss Burgundy was?
In WinCustomize, click on "Settings" in upper right (right below the search window). Click on "Registrations" tab in upper right. Find the three "MyColors Gloss" listings. Download and save zip from 2nd link in each listing. Those show up in theme manager as non-MyColors themes (at least Grey and Mint do, didn't do Burgundy that way).
How in the heck did you even find out about Gloss Grey and Gloss Mint?!
Got an email. Only place I'm seeing them so far is same as reply 9 above. Not sure if those are for MyColors versions or ThemeManager versions, if they're only doing one or the other, or if you can pick MyColors or ThemeManager version.
:HOT: Like the overall look, love the new expanded thumbnail previews, color tiles selection is handy, Corporate skin is sharp. Well worth the effort of updating. :CONGRAT:
If the HP is running any monitor management software you might try running Object Dock without the monitor software running. I'm talking about software that controls window placement, I think NVidia's NView, UltraMon, ATI's Hyperdesk. I might have the names wrong there but I think you get the idea. Don't know what HP might have branded like that. Also would want to double check that the video drivers are current. A re-install may or may not fix the problem, you
Kind of curious what "More Options" / "Tweak Drawing" might be. Seeing 55 pixels as "Medium Size" seems kind of small.

I had the same problem with Harley. It was caused by a setting I had made in Windowblinds. If you have the Windowblinds program installed as well as MyColors, go into Windowblinds configuration. Click on the "Fonts" tab in the second row at the top. Click on the "Reset" button towards the middle on the right side to set the font sizes to normal. Make sure the 2 checkbox items in the middle of the window are unchecked. In the scroll window underneath the s
Support is first come - first serve
And don't keep re-sending emails. As I understand it a new email will reset you in their order, kind of like hanging up and re-calling a phone support line.
A big plus to Wizard's method, which is what I use, is you can also copy the original wba file to an extra folder and keep a backup of it which comes in handy. If I do what you're doing (on XP here), the skin automatically installs to Windowblinds - it sounds like you might be having a problem installing the skins. Maybe UAC issues or such?
Stay out of the way
A good strategy for the vast majority of us all, me thinks.
Let's think about this.
Well I don't know, seems like new people would be downloading them and they wouldn't work, and they'd be posting in the forums and contacting support, and getting annoyed. Then they'd be saying "None of these work, why didn't somebody take them down, they shouldn't be here." From their perspective I can't say I'd blame them, it would be frustrating and disappointing, especially to someone who wasn't familiar with the story. I'
also trying to remove the names from my tabbed docks in the "tabs appearence" but everytime i restart they reappear. Is there anyway to make a nameless tab? I already have a symbol on my tab which indicates its use, i dont need the name.
Hadn't really tried that before, but messing with it now, it sticks color names in as tab labels like "Red" or "Orange". Anyway it seems like OD won't let it stay blank. You CAN have duplicate tab names, one of my docks is
If you're using paid OD Plus now, did you have the free version installed before? If so, did you uninstall the free version before installing the paid version? If not, save and backup any themes and icons you want to keep, uninstall the OD Plus (and the OD free if it's still showing out there), reboot, and try re-installing the Plus. Also, on XP the systray function will only work if you are logged in as a user
I have the SDK and have been over it numerous times.
Kudos. I think that pretty much addresses the question of whether or not anybody cares about such things. What's your take on who opens the account with Weather.com, the end user or the program / web page creator? I keep looking at the TOS and the signup sheet and I'm still not sure, kind of seems like it's geared to the creator. I can send them an email and just ask if you like, but I'd imag
well i knew about the widget but not the objects, i also just found that i can save my current desktop in themes, which may keep the objects there as well? doubling up or whatever. and thanks
Ya if you have any objects loaded up and save the desktop, it will save the objects within the desktop. A desktop is a collection of the objects. It won't save the widgets, the widgets are separate little program
I'm trying to work on a widget that complies with the TWC rules to date
[e digicons][/e] Now that seems like a really sensible thing to do. As I was looking at their signup page, I wasn't sure if they really wanted the end users to create the user account, or instead if they wanted the program creator to create the user account and point their programs to it (which seems like you'd want to limit these to gadgets instead of widgets). That mi
Don't hate me but I have to point out that none of the existing widgets comply the Weather.com's XOAP terms of use regarding advertising links and logo display. I'm not a lawyer and I don't want to be, just don't want Weather.com coming after WC/Stardock with a hammer. Not looking for a huge debate. I do appreciate the effort and intent of the post though.
And of course WinStep, at least the themes I've looked at. Clearly Weather.com was carrying a lot of us around for free for a long time, we really have no right to gripe.
Looks like they're just wanting it to be used as an advertising tool.Which makes good sense for them, yes?
Absolutely. I wasn't slamming them, I was thinking that creating an account and pointing my little widgets to it might be precisely the wrong thing to do. [e digicons]:)[/e]
