You know, as I read the license agreement for the xml on Weather.com, I get the impression we're the type of people they're trying to shake off. Looks like they're just wanting it to be used as an advertising tool. Did anybody read the license agreement part 3 (Fees and Advertising) section (A)?

I'm having a go at hacking around here (that's the gassy sound you hear leaking into the atmosphere).
I mean not only is that inconvenient for the users, but it's gotta be draining on weather.com's servers.. does that make sense?
Makes perfect sense to me too. I'd imagine that traffic is what prompted them to go the signup/key route in the first place, trying to cut down on massive pings. Thanks to everyone who's looked into this, I was just now wondering what was going on with my widgets, and there it is, right here on the good ol' support foru

If you like you can try this. It takes care of most of my dark skin problems in my ancient version of Adobe Photoshop. It creates a new substyle for the skin and does however change the specified color system-wide, not just for Adobe. Back up your skin first in case you botch it up (it happens). Open up Windowblinds Configuration. Click on "Colours" in 2nd tab row. Click on "Change system colours" text link, about the middle of the window on the rig

cheers Farrah. When I've seen her in recent years she seemed exceptionally grounded for a person who could have easily adopted a princess attitude. Saw her on a recent Comedy Central Roast (I think it was William Shatner?) and I just wanted to reach into the tv and give her a big ol' hug. hugs from afar Farrah, hugs from afar.

If you had the free version installed before the Plus version, the free needs to be installed before installing the Plus. If you didn't do that, save and backup any themes (dock arrangements) you want to keep, backup any icon images you've downloaded and want to keep, uninstall the Plus, unininstall the free (if it still shows), reboot, reinstall the Plus. If you didn't have the free version installed before, or if doing the above doesn't fix it, you also might try clearing the
I must say, however it seems that the only themes that it can manage are those provided by Stardock: unless I've missed something
No you're not missing anything, that's exactly what MyColors is - a program which Stardock provides for free to decrypt and manage the themes they create for it. That's what it is, that's what it does. There are are 4 free ones here you can download if you like: <a href="https://www.stardock.com/products/mycolors/ga

I take it we're talking about Object Dock Plus. If you had the free version of Object Dock installed before the paid version, the free version needs to be uninstalled before installing the paid version. If you didn't do that, save and backup any themes and iicon images you have, uninstall the paid version, uninstall the free version (if it still shows), reboot, reinstall the paid version. Which windows version are you running - XP 32bit, XP 64bit, Vista 32bit, Vista 64bi

Probably within reason. A few thoughts on speeding it up: The tabbed docks take a little longer to load than the standard docks, so sticking just to standard docks will speed it up a little if you like. Not a huge deal though. (Don't forget to save your theme before you start deleting docks if you want to play with it.) Getting rid of the weather docklet might speed it up some, not sure, would cut out the communication to the weather site at boot.

I believe there was an update to MyColors posted to Impulse earlier this week which fixed this. I installed that update via Impulse, then checked for an update on MyColors and it reported none available. I had been having the same issue.

Regarding #3, I think you're looking for this: Go into the OD config window Click on "Positioning" in the left column Underneath "Interaction" towards the bottom of the right side, check "Keep on top" Then, on same window towards the top, underneath "Positioning", check "Reserve edge of screen". ("Reserve edge of screen is available for some but not all "Interaction" settings, you might play with the available combinations to see if you like something better th

I don't think so with the generic clock. I just now went to the Object Dock gallery here and typed in "Digital Clock" in the search bar and got 3 docklet hits. Haven't used any of them or other ones, don't know how well they might work. You might try poking around in there to see what you find.

Expanding on the MyColors: The MyColors application is free, period, there is only the one version. You pay for the themes. There are 3 or 4 free themes which you should see as "available" within impulse. Subscribing to Object Desktop gets you another 4 free themes a year, released over time. Subscribing also gets you a discount on themes you purchase, see here: https://forums.wincustomize.com/343524 &nb
Please keep in mind that your billing address can differ from the address to which your statement is mailed.
And here I thought that was the definition of "billing address". That's a new one on me, can't imagine how that could get people messed up. Darn banks, guess we better send them another billion or two to get that cleared up [e digicons]XD[/e]

Longshot: Check your WBConfig "Fonts" tab and make sure "Allow the skin to decide on the fonts" is selected, not a specific font. Ran into a similar problem with another MyColors theme, but it was "All or nothing" in terms of the systray icons displaying.

I think you're talking about Waterwold DX here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=4207&libid=31 If so, that is not a Windowblinds skin, it is a Desktop X theme. Desktop X would have to be installed to use it, that's a program different from Windowblinds. I see the download is a zip file which includes a .desktop file, neither of which should have prompted Windowblinds to t

Applies to XPHome, don't know about XPPro or Vista: No need for a program. Be warned, this technique directly executes the Shutdown, Restart, or Logoff without generating a confirmation message. So, don't click on them until you're prepared for them to execute. Create 3 shortcuts, 1 each for Shutdown, Restart, and Logoff. Shutdown: Link: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe Arguments: -s -t 00 (-t 00
if i explore it, it shows 3 different size jpg's.
If you've gotten that far you've probably had the zip file opened up at some point. From there you can probably just drag any or all of the included files over to whatever directory you like by opening that directory up in Windows Explorer and just dragging the files over to it. If you've been saving the zip files, you should be seeing a "Save As" window pop up (at least on XP). The directory wi
Is it not for XP?
As far as I can tell it's Logon Studio Vista which is just for Vista.
I guess those of us that use XP are left out in the cold
Sometimes Stardock surprises me, so who knows. On the other hand, the old Logon Studio even with its warts does get the logon screen skinned which is really the whole point. [shrugs]
