Sometimes I go puttering about in the old skins. Most of the Win7 skins work pretty well on Win10, even the Vista skins if you're a little forgiving. (I wouldn't pay for one unless I were prepared to do a little SkinStudio tweaking, but that's not really what we're talking about here.) Once you hit the "right arrow" in the gallery and the 2nd page comes up, you can just replace the ending "2" with a bigger number, say "50", in the address bar and jump back like a little ti
Well I'll post it on this one too, pardon my redundancy. Just in case you missed it, Vampothica recently very kindly made her premium skins free. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/search/vampothika
I have V8. Can I just upgrade or do I have to purchase any new version that comes out?
You would need to purchase the new version, at the significantly reduced upgrade price. See "Own DeskScapes 8?" at the bottom of this page: https://www.stardock.com/products/deskscapes/download edit- too slow on the keyboard again
Argh, not what any of us were hoping for. I've never been able to decide if advance notice of the journey would be a blessing or a curse, a little of both I suppose. Hang tough.
Be careful around those steps Starkers. That's the type of thing that might only happen once.
The only source for the new Premium skins/themes by me will be my site: https://www.adni18.com
Bookmarked [e digicons];)[/e]
Though, I will continue to send free skins to WinCustomize
Very happy to hear that.[e digicons]:)[/e] Thanks for letting us know. I was wondering why I wasn't seeing the 1903 update. I see it's in that "Check for updates" button state. I swore off the "Check for updates" button after our friend warned us that Microsoft considers anyone who clicks on that button to be a "seeker" who wants not-quite-ready-for-primetime updates (without really telling anyone that). Just in case anyone doesn't know or has forgotten. <a href="https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-window

The annual subscription refers to the 1 year period you are eligible for free upgrades, access to betas, and access your program files at Stardock to download them. If you download the .exe program installers from your account page and keep them archived and keep your product key (just as you would with any other downloaded software), you can continue to install them after your subscription expires. Any programs you have installed will also continue to work after the subscription
It's still not telling me it's out there, and I'm sure not going out to chase it.
With 2 reports on this short thread why would anyone want to update
and... Considering Microsoft ended up pulling the last one for awhile to fix it. I'm in no hurry. I'll install it when they throw it at me and hope for the best.
Quoting avis71, reply 4 it's not possible to have two difffent window background colors at the same time is that correct ? yes
I should clarify that, as Basj said, you can specify a different window background color for Windows Explorer. I get the impression that's not what you're trying to accomplish, but it can be done. I realized I created something of a contradiction while I was going in ano
it's not possible to have two difffent window background colors at the same time is that correct ?
yes
IF this is true then there is no point for exclusions except if for some other paramters the exception does work. But i am mostly after the windows background. There is no workaround for that even with skinstudio ?
There are "Presets" and there are "Substyles", the two are not the same. Presets are for the general adjustments you make in WB such as the general color shifts, the transparency adjustments, and the texture additions. They are changes made "on top of" a substyle (for lack of a better description). When you change a system color, even within WB, you are editing the actual substyle, which is why it persists every time you change it and create a new Preset. You would w
I have no idea
Initially on Win10 it was using the color set in Explorer Parts/..../Command bar/Folders bar [Extra settings]tab Background color. Can't say for sure you were using it, otherwise it was using Window Color, but it would be a good bet.
ObjectDock does have a trouble-shooting screen you can try if you like. See here for a screenshot (the page is on a different topic): https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/298/88/i-need-to-backuprestore-my-dock-settings A good place to start is to select "Temporarily disable all docklets", an incompatible or misbe

Not a "solution" but more of a "for now"- If you apply your regular wallpapers through deskscapes and leave deskscapes enabled, my guess is they will work as they should.
Don, I copy/pasted his line directly into a shortcut and it did work for me (on Win10). "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -disable-features=Windows10CustomTitlebar As he said though, it does only work for the specific shortcut you've edited, so if you have any shortcuts that go to websites directly it has no effect for them (they open Chrome without the switch). I dunno, I'm probably only slightly less tired of chasing Chrome's Attention Def
Is this what everyone is talking about?
Don't know about the 7 and 8. For the 10, yes that's the acrylic blur on the StartMenu. The taskbar is really "Normal Win10 blur", you'll notice it's not quite as heavy as the StartMenu.
I think I have missed something. How/where is this option available in Start10?
Pretty sure I heard about it from you [e digicons];)[/e] You have to apply the Default Skin in WB, then open Start10 config:
Dave, I have WinFX enabled for all skins, I do not alter blur settings in Start10. Yet start menu anims via the skinner work fine for me.
Pretty sure we haven't had any mention of Start10 blur settings regarding WinFX and start menu animations. There isn't any relationship that I know of, maybe you were talking about SKS blur settings? I think we're saying the same thing otherwise: SKS start menu
