From what I can tell this is immediately and consistently crashing my Windows Explorer. Win10Home64bit. Uninstalled the 1st beta, rebooted, ran the purge routine, rebooted, ran this install, rebooted, rebooted again see if it straightened out. Uninstalled this, rebooted, ran the purge routine, rebooted, reinstalled this, rebooted, same result. If nobody else is having a problem, could just be me.

Two ways you can easily watch it in action: 1- Watch how long it takes your systray icons to load 2- Add a program to your startup folder and watch how long it takes for it to load

I see this: If the dream is installed on your machine, the package is extracted when you preview it in Deskscapes. A directory is created C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData\[DreamName]{additional text}. The video should be in that directory with the usual appendage.

If you click on the SKS "Help" tab in the lower right of your screenshot there, it'll tell you what each of the 5 state are (normal, pressed, disabled, mouseover, focus/default).
It looks like you'd want to add about 50 pixels of transparency to the right side of each of the 5 frames of the start button image. It looks like the light brown area on the left side is actually part of the taskbar, not the start button. and the start button itself is maybe just the round graphic. Making the startbutton wider by adding transparency will cause the other buttons to land further right.

Well I do hope Stardock comes up with some kind of workable solution. Seriously, those Win10 window frames really do kind of make me want to gag. I ran Win10 for awhile before WB came out for it, and I found it to be ... unpleasant. Every once in awhile I run Win10 naked for a (very) little while for a quick change of pace, and I still find it unpleasant after about 10 minutes.

It looks like it could be the difference created by transparency, blur, and what is behind the caption. The window frame I'm showing here is actually black with transparency and blur. It's the SKS preview window sitting over a white background on the left side (the SKS preview also is using a white background) and a darker, about mid-range, background on the right side. I'll take a Win10 with WindowBlinds with some limitations over Win10 with no WindowBlinds at all. I've never even bothered to install Old New Explorer and probably never will. Windowblinds still does a lot for Win10.
