There's no easy/automatic way to convert an XP skin to Win10. You'd need to use SkinStudio (which should be available for download in your Stardock account) to add or modify the various parts. Some basic image editing skills and software would be extremely helpful, perhaps "required", not necessarily "artistic" level. An XP skin will never look exactly the same on Win10, there are some parts on Win10 that just can't be skinned in the same man
And this for Anti virus
Thanks for the link Al. There's a handy little spreadsheet linked within there that summarizes antivirus status. It's about a third of the way down, a tiny link, and easy to miss so I'll link it here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/184wcDt9I9TUNFFbsAV
so I'm stumped as to how we've all been doing it wrong.
We all peel them down from the top stem. It's really easier to turn them upside down and peel them down from the bottom, especially if they're a little green, don't squish up the meat as much. Ya, I eat a lot of bananas...
so I'm just going to wait until the situation is better clarified for the average/general user.
Yep, either way nothing is going into the trash here. All I can do at this point is see how it washes out and live with it, so that's what I'll do. I'm betting it's not going to be a big deal. I'm reminded of a New Egg processor review I saw once. A guy had bought a say 2.8ghz processor and then abou
However, anything that relies heavily on the Kernel - such as file I/O - suffers a big impact, so this will have a massive effect mostly on data centers. For everything else the impact should be fairly minimal. My mistake. I see the thread took on a 2nd life later with people describing what you're describing, and it came to contacting Support: https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit I don't know if it ever got chased down, but that's what you'd need to do. You've probably seen the Stardock holiday notice at the tops of the pages, so it will be awhile. Don't send them additional em

That's as far as I can go with it. Stardock isn't open on the weekends, but a support person may drop in here during that time or later, or someone else may see something I'm missing. I'd start a support ticket here: https://esupport.stardock.com/ You'll get an automated response immediately, don't reply to that or send any additional emails until an actual person replies - each time you send an email it throws you to th

You should be able to log into your account here: https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products 1st line on the page should be "Object Desktop Manager". Underneath that is "View Individual Downloads" - click on that text and a list will drop down with download links for each program. Download and backup the downloads you want. Underneath those is "Object
Imagine building a machine and all it needs cable wise would be the main cable from the PSU to the motherboard.
That's the way they used to be (not counting drive power cords), "way back when". Then the processors started needing more power so they added the extra plug on the mb. Both the main plug and the auxiliary plug have evolved/expanded over the years, I don't really know what's running on each at this point. I believe the short ans
Just wondering
Hadn't heard that one for awhile, nice little trip down memory lane. Seems appropriate to me, I won't be filing any complaints. I see less "appropriate" - and less "interesting" - behavior during any prime-time televised music awards show...

I tried it on a few random skins before I replied Wednesday, couldn't really say which ones. I just now ran through the shipped skins, toggling the [F11] a half dozen times on each, they work fine for me. Acrylic 7, Corporate, Diamond, Echo, Eva, Ice, Lantana, Modern, Precision, The Captain, Win8, Win8 Metro. Do those work for you without Old New Explorer?

I know installing "Old New Explorer" somehow fixed it for you, but as I said earlier I'm not seeing it without "Old New Explorer". I would be curious to see if the problem remained "fixed" if you now uninstalled "Old New Explorer". I'm not really saying you should do that, but I myself would just out of sheer curiosity. It seems like something else is at play here. If you really want Support to look at it, uninstall "Old New Explorer", see if the problem returns, and if it
