Interesting. The Mid and End Game are pretty tough with the new Economy. Rember that pre 1.3 it was pretty easy to Update old ships to newer versions. In 1.3 now, its actually easier to just build new ones, and dump the old ones.

Anybody actually form an alliance with more then one race? I can usually get one to be ally. But after that it seems impossible. Giving everything under the son doesnt work at all. The problem is, lets say there are two races left in game. If you are allied with one race, and that race is also allied with the other race.. Makes it hard to beat the game with Diplomatic victory.

Its been around for awhile, along with a few others. They actually fixed one of the mistakes in another Defense tree in 1.3, but I guess they forgot the others.

Yup alliance is hard now. Its almost not worth it now because by the time you allie with someone that can actually help you, would be game over anyway. Think it might need just a little adjustment. Not much, because the easy dip wins pre 1.3 were just cheese.

Yes moral is tough now. I have had 4 of the Special projects for moral and still could not get my Universal moral above 81% mid game. Its crazy. And the economy is also a real killer now. If you don't do it right, and I have yet to do it right. You can't support any big fleets mid game. And the AI out does you there. The economy is a tough one to crack now. Hate to have to get the Econ bonus again and choose Federalist again. But its not looking good. I almost think that now for

I found that pretty much building Special Planets (Ie Only Research, or Ship building) does not work anymore. You pretty much have to build pretty even Planets. Keeping your home planet the Major Ship builder. This way when you need to build something quick IE ships. Instead of having 2 planets that only build ships in 4 turns. You can have 10 planets build ships in about 6-8 turns. You do the math, its better. When you rush colony, research Scanners and make 2 more Anomalie grabbing

The thing I have found out that in 1.3 things have changed drastically. I can no longer on Challenging use my old strat of Special Planets. So now I might have to try a few of the ones in this thread. The thing with special planets is that you are so limited in game. (IE building ships, along with the tough economy now) Played 2 games so far and by mid game I cannont keep up with AI military. And if I go to war its pretty much over for me. Guess now I will try to build Planets, with

If it was any different the ground battles would be to drawn out, and games last way too long. The key to defending planets is too not let the Enemy Troop ships attack in the first place.

This post is a Prime example of Why I never want Multiplayer. Someone does not like the way something works and stuff like this happens, and its not fair. Blah blah blah.

Had pirates in 1.2. Never saw anythough. I could only imagine they are twice as nasty as before, since now you can't kill them before they fire on you.

Funny thins is In every Game I have played, I have never once seen the Dregin last for more then half the game. Never! The Altarians, And Torians seem to be the best. My worst enemies seems to end up being the Altarians though most the time. Usually because of the Leader Killed Pop up.

Sometimes its easy to forget the other options in game, like Influence. Other times it gets annoying waiting for them to flip though, only to find out they never will. I have to put an Influence victory on my Metaverse character. Think its the only one im missing.

Holy crap is that Two Precursor mines you have... Good god you could beat the game with just that planet by itself. Enjoy it, don't diss it. Trust me I have not actually started with A Precursor mine yet.

Porcupine had it right. Bases are make thier own Influence based off the modules you add. It would be worthless to add them next to your planet since you already have influence next to them. Thier is one exception, when your planet under the influence of another race, a starbase can put a curtain of your own influence over your planet, protecting it.

Yes but that tactic only works if you win, in which case you now just lost billions of Soldiers for a now worthless planet. There is no real Bombing in game. When you attack use Mini Soldiers, you destroy structures but not the Value of planet.

Hmmm, hopefully the New Planet Colonization won't mess up empires to much. Be really weird if your neighbor can only colonize on type and you the other. Then having planets all over the place in your empire, only to be converted in few years by you. Sounds messy.

Can you explain the formula a little bit? Never really bothered with this before 1.2, but now its pretty ovious I need to Fill my fleet with these wild weasle ships. I lose way to many in my wars. Don't understand where your getting the numbers Like 1/(6+0) = 1/6 = 0.1667 where you get the 6+0 stuff. LOL.
