The solution to this is a icon u can click which will instantly bring up the best deal the AI will give u for the tech/trade offer u r making. I do not think this would unbalance the game in any way and it would save us time, mouse/finger fatigue, plus speed the game up.

Er...wow, is it a metaverse game yr playing, should be interesting to see how u score Presume u turned Tech victory off? Take this with a pinch of salt but my guess is that yr 314% research bonus is applied after yr base RP is given ie the 33K - 34K. I imagine u would still score for 150K RPs/turn. As for the tech rate of 158, I believe this means u have a tech rate 158% of your
The question I have is what possible strategy can counteract this kind of advantage? It's clear people are beating suicidal AI's. Sometimes they even complain about how easy it is. I'm just not seeing it. Any clues? Please? It's simple, as has already been said above, how can u compete with the AI's massive bonuses? Answer u can't! U need to fol
Bldy hell, Bob, you're *still* winning on suicidal? I thought they'd notched it up a bit further. But then I guess you were being massively outproduced and researched before and still winning, so that's not going to change anything. So now planet development is in decent shape, what are you finding to be the weak link? Diplomacy? Well ran
Back as well. Started a new job, and living in a hotel for now so i don't see much time in the near future for gc2... Oh well, real life sucks, good luck in yr new job. I am into my 2nd game with 1.3 beta 1 and the big, huge improvement that I have seen is AI planetary development. It's building 3xfactories on all of its worlds, plus 1
I have just completed a 1.3 beta 1, metaverse game vs the Terrans on suicidal (ultimate AI) and the biggest change I noticed was the AI planetary development by the AI's which has vastly improved. I completed the game by 22nd Dec in the 2nd yr (only shows as 1 yr in metaverse, ) and from this very early in the game, the Terrans had close to fully develeoped planets <img src="http://images.st
I agree, it is nearly impossible to win at suicidal without cheats. It's meant to be that way, though. Just look at the huge bonuses the AI gets at that level. No it isn't, I do it all the time, so do several other players. As for this new ULTIMATE level I can't comment as I have not tried it yet. Looking forward to the challenge. <
would love to see them too... since i never played galciv 1, im really curious to find out what these things do someone enlighten me please As far as I know, blow up planets, just like the death star in Star Wars.
Good on u Master U, ignore the older but less mature people above May u have many hrs of happy gaming. On forming The Empire . It's good to see the FORCE back in the universe. U will never disp
Stardock originally said terror stars (or something similar) would be in the expansion, but since have not mentioned them. Hopefully they r keeping alot of details up there sleeves, so they can surprise us... I have GC 1 but have never had terror stars, finished all my games well before that. Its abit like I have never completed the GC 2 tech tree yet and I have played over 30+ games. I need more time <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
Thanks for this helpful list. I like to read AAR's, shame there r not more. Perhaps everyone is too busy playing?
Suicidal gives 200% bonus to production, research and economy btw.
U will love the game when u get it, its 9.9/10 and I never give 10/10 I haven't got a story for u but there r a few on this board (try AAR's, after action reports and the journal I think), also real good news, the expansion (Dark Avatar) is going to have a epic story creator. So hopefully every game u play will have its own epic tale...cool...can't wait...
Master U the dark side of the force is strong with U... Now you can't expect us to believe you had 5 trillion population in just 0 years, even if the game ended in december.
Sounds good, but the screen can get cluttered as it is, especially on the bigger maps and of course any extra graphics on the screen will cause the game to slow down, even more than it does already. Also galactic travel is represented in the game by tourism between races and trade. So this would be unnecessary 'fluff', not such a good idea after all?
Human sucks, you get no free bonuses and have no stellar cartography. U r right I play a human every second, of every hour of every day and I NEVER got any free bonuses or a map to life. WTF? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smile
Ugh... it's been out for a few months...not really news. U missed the point, 1.3 Galactic Civilizations is news. all the developers at Stardock <i
I don't call the Arceans, Altarians and Torians boring, I DO call them *u%ki*$ b&*!!"s, especially just after they have taken one of my planets or wiped out my 16 eco starbases. Other favs r c*m%!!/e *w$t* and s**$ki*g *rr*!b$e a"$e*o%*$! U get the picture...
should you just destroy them and build something else? Don't destroy/demolish ever...upgrade them its better. I have usually won before I get into this situation, but if its an eco or tech or pop planet, I usually start to upgrade the factories to stock exchanges/NLC's (or highest research building)/farms+morale buildings. Your industr
Name another sci-fi game that has more depth then GC2? It has huge amounts of depth, starbases (4 different kinds) change each game considerably. Space ships, have any spacship out of any sci-fi program ever, just design it or download the design. Diplomacy u can trade with anyone including minor races, manipulate the galaxy by bribing others to do the dirty work, fighting. U can be the shadowy presence behind the scenes that rules the galaxy. A war breaks out u can
I voted for a 4x, turn based fantasy strategy game, if stardock can do with fantasy what u have done with sci-fi then wow, WOW... I think I would prefer to see a stardock original creation but I never played Master of Magic. Of the other options I would be personally interested in a roleplaying game and I am intrigued by this society game, wether it would be my cup of tea, I do not know, after find out more info. <table cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgcolor=#
95% fun. errrr.... should'nt that be 100% fun? After over 3 months of playing this game still rocks, best game I have ever bought, better than the mighty Master of Orion 2, was coming to think I would never, ever say that...
1. Let the AI cancel an alliance Only to be fair and add some surprise. I agree with this 100%, all the AI's should be able to mount a surprise attack, especially the evil races, no way would the Drengin, Yor or Dominion stick to an alliance, if they can gain by breaking it. Its also irritating when they warn u that they could attack u in t
GC 2 has no where near the micro management of the Civ series, u can have very fast paced games, can complete them in a couple of hours. Also can have games that take u weeks, all depends how u set the game options at the start. There r just 3 sliders to control for military/planetary/research, those effect your entire empire. No need to change every turn if u don't want too. Your machine should be fine to run GC2. It's a great game, true classic sci-fi game.
Hi there all B.C. Space Orcas, noticed last night u were just 30,000 - 40,0000 pts short of Overmind for 1st placed empire in the metaverse, so I thought I would jump ship from the Jedi Republic, which is a dieing empire and join u guys! Just in time because B.C Space Orcas r now 1st. I will keep submiting games at my usual pace and hopefully we will stay top whale, perhaps pull away from the competition. Thus claiming our rightful place as masters of the universe. Long
