No, this would open a whole series of boxes of Pandora. Modded MV games were partly responsible for taking the fun out of the GC1 Metaverse. I understand this could be a problem. Thats why I said let only 'sanctioned' mods score in the metaverse. Those sanctioned mods would be tested for game balance and only 1 allowed per metaverse game( so

This is one thing about the metaverse that I really do not like and if u r listening stardock could u please, please put on that long to do list u have... Allow modded GC games to be submitted to metaverse for scoring. How about letting a group of players who have been playing for some time test and sanction mods for metaverse game use. Alot of players beta test for the love of the game so there would be vounteers I am sure.
I think that they should make the ground combat a minigame. Yea the current system is a bit boring now, how many people just press skip now like me? I envisage a whole new tech path based on planetary invasion, giving u loads of lovely 'toys' to battle it out with over the planets surface. Obviously there would be a lot of defensiv
This area of the game needs to be worked on to give it more flavor, dimention, etc that is lacking in it now I agree that the alignments could do with further development, refining (suspect its not going to happen until expansion or GC 3) but I really like the basic alignment concept of the game. Dislike, when someone says scrap it or take it
You just reminded me why I stopped playing Galciv 2 Why visit the forum and not play the game? Strange...
Sure you can be a good race and take all the evil paths on events, doesn't matter when you get the tech you want you just choose good and your all set, no more evil events to turn you evil. It does cost u however to do this. Therefore u r penalised. I like the good/neutral/evil choice, it adds another dimension to the game. My only
but that was a gig galaxy and my system is not to good, so that having so many ships on the same spot was affecting perfomance a lot Yes, I have noticed this. Towards the end game the AI races just churn ships out, the only effect it has is to slow the game to a crawl. I play on suicidal so they can churn one hell of alot of ships out. I hav
It's not even clear which is the best if any. Disagree, neutral is by far the best alignment, life's wonderful being neutral PQ bonus, morale bonus, neutral learning centers, extra trade routes...top...great...no drawbacks.
Actually, I wouldn't be suprised if he was still messing around on version 1.0... Sounds like it to me. Update to v1.11. I have played over 20 games to completion and never had any problems loading a saved game. It did take ages to load before 1.1 but now loads in a fraction of a second! I mircromanage the sliders from t
AS in real life (not reel life) the good must wait for thier reward Played good a few times now and I am still waiting... Can't even be bothered reasearching ethics to officially become good anymore, just a waste of research, its that rubbish... Basically good really does suck big time in GC 2...
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Placing your fleet on top of the starbase, means the fleet has to be defeated before the starbase can be destroyed.
Blitzkrieg vital mining resources, planets to tip the balance in your favour, the AI does not seem to react to u putting your forces in position for a knock out blow.
Scoring was recalculated when 1.1 came out, lots of people experienced there overall scores dropping when they submitted a game or 2. Its effected all metaverse players the same.
eerrrmm... great...new idea for my next game, going to take the 8 pt quality bonus and play as neutral...lets see how many mega PQ planets I can end up with...
If your going for military conquest, this is the best resource to have, had one maxed out at 49% playing the Drath. Had defense of over 100%, my ships in combat rarely took a hp in damage. They were invincible in combat even though the other races were 3-4 steps ahead in the weapons tech tree. 30 missile defense was 60+ missile defense, great...
Information warfare is great for capturing a planet undamaged. 800 bc well spent to capture a fully intact planet. U can use it straight from the start as well.
Try playing a good race with evil races in the galaxy. They quickly drop to hostile and will declare war on u if they have a far bigger military rating than u.
I do not think they r aware. Been in a 5 strong alliance before now and an AI (in this case the Altarians) declared war on one of the members. Big mistake got ripped to bits in short order. The AI was doing its usual bullying tactics, Altarians had 3 x military rating of the Thalans, so it declared war. Did not consider the military rating of the other 4 alliance members as for as I can tell.
wont buy any Galactic civilization 3 is thoses are removed. I'm not buying this expansion if the Terrans get eliminated. Yea right. Pull the other
I take it u guys do not text much, then? As he was just typing as u text, saves time. U would'nt like the women around my way, all they do is text, text talk etc...
Have not tried 1.2 yet, will wait for the final version. Which I have no doubt will be excellent from the comments I have already read. The developers/stardock spoil us, with each patch, u expect to get alittle and get loads. Just been reading the journals, most of what is in the patches the programmers do in there own spare time. So a big thank u from me.
But it will contain a campaign and it will be dark. Very dark. Excellent, bring it on. Note:- Good gets it in the neck, again... Two of the major civilizations in GalCiv II will be wiped out. <
Yes, the number in brackets is how much foreign influence that planet is under. Example 2.50 would mean 2.5 X that planets influence rating from another race. f this number reachs value 4.0, then the planet will revolt. Eventually, could take 5, 10, 20+ turns.
I think fewer AI opponents may actually be more difficult. Having tried from 9 to 1 opponents, the fewer opponents u have the harder. I played me (Yor) vs Altarians, suicidal, 1.11, tech trading off, small galaxy and got beaten to a pulp, ouch... I personally liked the campaign but it does lack atmosphere, a cohesive storyline and i
