It's not turned off. You have to select Tech Trading "on" or "off" yourself. I knew this already skyjack, but thanks for telling me anyway! I recently beat a race that had double my economy, pentuple my milit

This was a WAY overblown "problem" that never really existed. Spot on! Bring back tech trading for those that like it I say! People who do not want it can always turn it off. Other overblown 'problems' that have resulted in the game being spoiled by stardock taking them out r, Random events, people complained they happe
plus their exploit of knowing where the habitable planets are before their scouts arrive I am 99% sure this is incorrect. The proof I have is a couple of times I have been heading towards a juciy planet to colonize and spotted a AI colony ship, checked out the spd stats and thought ahh.... its going to beat me to the planet. Most of the time
I am getting fed up of smart a**es claiming stardock are crap because they can beat the game easily. Are these guys just playing on the kiddie levels? Yes, alot of people r coming out with this, 'comment', u then find they r only playing on tough level or whatever level it is that the AI is not cheating at. Just increase the difficulty. Suici
Since 1.11 the game is 100% reliable, no crashes, before that it was a pain, but I had faith in stardock and it was not misplaced, which was nice.......
The simple way around this problem I find is to buy the buildings u need. Also its better to develope every tile on a planet before upgrading, u get more production, research, money, etc.... Never demolish, upgrade its cheaper, also it lets u upgrade any basic building to another type ie.... market to farm etc... I would however like the option of building the old tech buildings, it would be useful on the higher levels like suicidal, where u need every advantage
I'd like the ability to make useless planets productive I like to do the opposite, make productive planets, useless. Planetary bombardment, then destroy colony does the trick nicely! Any PQ 7 or lower gets this treatment. Roll
I think the Scots are pretty independant too. Independently English that is More English people live in Scotland then scots. How's that for cultural domination? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gi
Oh by the way I played AOW 1 and AOW:SM on the highest difficulty levels and won with every race. So have I, Age of Wonders 1 & 2 and shadowmagic. The AI is rubbish compared to GC 2 AI. Love those games, they r equal to Heros of Might and Magic series, not any better or worse. Went into game today, u can pre-order Heros of Might and Magic V,
there's no reward incentive for doing well other than "you get a slightly harder mission". The mission after apocalypse is lovely, very enjoyable, especially if u like money. The missions after apocalypse r a lot easier, not hard at all.
Very good, excellent read, good screenshots and a idea that had not occured to me.
I have come across PQ 3 and PQ 1 in games I have played. So yr wrong they do exist, just very rare. Try playing evil and create yr own by using mass driver etc.... invasion tactics.
Sounds good. Sacred had something like that I think, loved the number of kills I had racked up, hardest opponent I had defeated etc.....
You know some of these issues could have been avoided if Stardock would have put a warning label on the front of the box. Something like WARNING: FOR ANTI-PIRACY WE ONLY SUPPORT THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER WITH UPDATES. I agree with this. It should be noted a second hand games buyer is NOT a pirate. Indeed the original, 'Drengin', er....
Unfort., selling GalCiv2 used is a violation of the license agreement: Does not hold up in England, where I live, several big software companies tried to stop retailers selling second hand games out or renting them out. It failed miserably, the courts, the law of the land, decieded that games could be rented and sold second hand. I
U can have an economic base with all trade modules (60% increase in every trade route, 3 modules) and all resource bonus fairly easy. The 60% increase is not to be sniffed at, 10 routes coming from the same planet making 50 bcs, means a bonus of 300bcs per week, nice, thats 800bcs a week from trade, even better
They'd have to be toned down a bit though. Why? I like anomolies and think the benefits u get r well balanced.
don't think it's broken, I just think that by the time you get it, it's useless. It add them for free so you don't actually need to add the survey modules to the ships. I mensiond this as well. <
Sounds good, GC 2 could do with a better history, background. Something to make u identify with the individual races more.
Whew... I finally won Achilles Heel. Well done, wait to u get a load of apocalypse!
P.S. Anyway, I'm toying with new strategy so I'm asking to see will it work. -I'll have medium speed sensor ships with good sensor range. -very fast 1 laser interceptor ships to take out undefended transports -and very slow but hevily armed tiny ships, which I'll position in such way that they always attack first (sensor ships will help here) Could this
There r not any cut scenes. I wish there was, but there r none. Just a narrative. Stardock let us down here.
Stardock if your listening, my request is really, really simple can we have random events back please, pretty please, with sugar on top, I really miss them in 1.1. A.I. diplomacy/trading would be good too!
mean is there a mission when you really, really need to win against DL with pure force, and no retreat possible. apocalypse and after there is no alternative missions. In fact I think only 3 missions (early ones have alternative missions). Apocalypse is really the only hard, really hard one however to win after those. <TABLE cell
