just make your choice from your heart and brain and after that you will be satisfied. It is not what any book says. it is who wrote the book. it just doesnt make sense to accept that He created us, then argue aginst his ordered. that is not logical. you cant have it both ways. if you admit He exists, then you must accept his authority. His books explain what He wants and how He deals with us and what His authority is. I can believe in God without being C

Oh really? I actually had the same thought when I read this story. Also, Brad and I were watching a program about the Black Plague last night and in it they chronicled The Flagulents "claiming" to have performed miracles. Of course that was ridiculous but it was perfectly easy to accept that a virgin gave birth to the son of God and he was able to perform such miracles.

PS: I respect anyone who has religious faith that doesn't harm others. I don't claim to have answers for anyone but myself. I even encourage my children to pursue their own spiritual paths. So, happy Passover and Easter to all. Happy Spring to everyone else

Wow, EOIC, I don't agree with KFC's beliefs but I can't see what she did to earn such loathing and contempt. KFC, I appreciate where you're coming from, but you have nothing to offer that I haven't heard a million times. I simply can't base my life on what one book says. My heart and mind lead me as I feel my God intended. I lead a much more moral life than many of the christians I know. I think heaven and hell are right here for us. I'm not banking on the hereafter.

I'll believe there is a personal God when every person who follows his teachings is treated with an enjoyable life free of agony and every person who is horrible to others is not living an enjoyable life. For every instance you can give testimony to a "personal God" I can give an instance of why there must not be. Of course whenever you say, if God was watching out for us, no child would ever suffer, you will just give the "everything happens for a reason" excuse. I believe in God but

Wow TW, those kids keep testing you don't they. Sounds like one of those "what the hell were you thinking?!" moments that come all too often with little boys. My last one was a year ago (so we are on quite a streak!). We had just watched A Christmas Story and I discussed not sticking one's tongue on metal things when it's cold outside. Ryan, then 4, had to test it out himself I guess. We had even discussed that IF you did do it for some reason, call for help, don

I think there are two types of people, those who have to experience for themselves and those who can have things that happen to others hit home with them. I am the latter. I've never had to make the mistakes or experience the "pre-emptive" death myself to have the same effect. I have also always looked at life as a series of deaths and rebirths. The creature you are as an infant is gone when you are born into toddlerhood, then that person gives way to the preschooler, and so on and s

Great pics! I can't believe you managed to paint her piggies! Ashley's are moving constanly. I'd make a huge mess trying to paint them. I'm lucky to stop them long enough to trim them! Ashley has that same Bumbo but she fills it out a bit more I still need to get Ashley in the Hula outfit you sent and post a pic. I guess I've been waiting for it to stop snowing!

She did WHAT? Why would she attack Tom? Tom is a member of the NRA. He had a movie to promote at the time (can't remember what it was) and the agreement was that they would discuss the movie and stay clear of his political stance and his views on gun control. It was an ambush and Rosie jumped all over him about how dangerous guns are.&nbsp

I stopped watching her show the day she attacked Tom Selleck I did too! I used to like The View so I gave it a watch when she first started...hated it! Stopped by a couple of more times, most recently because Dennis Miller was on, and still hate her. I don't care about her being a lesbian. I love Ellen for instance, but Ellen is kind and fun. Ellen doesn't bring up sexual orientation all the time and rarely brings politics into anything w

What a nightmare! I am going to say yes, I could. I have been trained in all sorts of CPR and first aid. I haven't had to do CPR but have had opportunties to use my lifesaving training to pull someone off the bottom of the lake and had to heimlich (sp?) my dad. I can definitely relate to how you reacted afterward. I think you go into auto mode when you are in the moment but afterward the reality sets in and all of the "what ifs" hit you. After my dad ejected the piece of steak he was choki

Dear Rosie, Thank you for freeing me from the time wasting practice of watching The View. I used to spend some of my late morning watching Meredith spearhead interesting conversations. Now that you are there, I am no longer compelled to spend my time in front of the TV and instead am free to do things that are more interesting....like scrub my toilets. Your practice of spouting DU talking points, not listening to others and talking over Elizabeth without regard to

evil is driving drunk Wow! Don't get me wrong, I think driving drunk is one of the worst things you can do but I also think it is unintentional in most cases. Drinking impairs everything including your ability to make a reasonable judgement on whether you are okay to drive or not. Drunk driving deaths are horrible indeed, absolutely avoidable, but Evil? Evil is one of those subjectivie things. To me, Hitler=Evil. Terrorists=Evil. Anyone

Couldn't agree with you more MasonM! Pregnancy is normal, and is certainly not a disease. Death is "normal" too. So if your wife and child die during childbirth you just accept that as "God's plan"? I'm not judging, just asking. So if you can't interfere with God's plan as so many of you have said, then there shouldn't be any problem with IVF, abortions or stem cell research because those are all things that God gave us the ability to

I'm quaking at the thought of 3 newborns! You are made of some tough stuff my friend. I will send nothing but happy thoughts and good wishes your way. Wish I could send formula too. AShley is still on formula so I know what you're talking about. I don't know how you're doing it!

I'm so sorry Karen. At least, like you said, it didn't come to him biting someone outside your family which would be a death sentence for him. We had a dog when I was growing up that ended up having rage. The dog snapped on my dad and tore up his hand badly. My dad didn't want to go to the ER because he knew it would be reported what the dog did and the choices would be put the dog down or cage her u

Too bad this child will never know her mother (or her brother). Sad to say, she might actually better off without them as role models. Hopefully someone who isn't on drugs will get custody.

I've been enjoying reading the responses I've gotten about whether or not we create out children and it got me thinking. If people believe that God creates babies and gives them to us, do they believe that inductions and planned C-sections are interfering with God's plan? If it's all God's doing, shouldn't it happen naturally? I personally don't know anything more about God or Jesus after having had 3 babies and 2 miscarriages. I know a lot about the science beh

It was -21 with wind chill yesterday but our school still had classes. Both boys didn't have heat in their rooms so they ended up in the library and teacher's lounge. No school today for some reason Try not to die!
