I started there as Samwise Gamgee, remember? Thanks for this link. The thread is awesome! I have read through it twice and learned many finer points and tips/tricks. I started a game on challenging last night and used the colony ship method you started the SG with. Great move it turned out to be! I look forward to reading the rest of the posts as the game plays through. The thread would be an excellent resource for those new to the game and even those, like myself, that have a few games but want to get better. Thanks

You can just highlight from the metaverse empires screen copy and paste into forum. Just format it after the paste. :) It won't paste the empire icon but all the rest goes in. Just format and done!
Though I cannot respond specifically for maso, I would note that I've found that the +25 does not give me free rangers (maybe once) but using uni's and the other pick to crank it to +50% I get them quite often. Granted this is on normal, but I do notice the extra pick gives better results. And boy do those rangers come in handy, especially if you get them early. They trash corvettes quite well :)

I had a similar situation and the same two empires left. Did you try gifting ships/techs and trading with the Torians to get them to close? I had to give them ships and even a crumby system and then they flipped to close and I sealed the deal. Trading with them and gifting helps.
