I'm still reading your post, but why do you say that Generals are rewarded for killing their minions? The example you use of the Siege Demolisher is that: -Cost is 10,000 -Therefore, in order to get the most units out of the cost, you must kill off your units so you can summon more This doesn't make much sense to me, since there is a unit cap. You can only have 4 out at a time, what reward or benefit are you actually getting by killing them o

I'm hoping the Favor system gets expanded from what we've seen in Beta 2. Some of the items are nice, but being only able to choose one item is such a... I don't know the right phrasing, but it's fairly insignificant in how your Demigod feels in the game and doesn't give me much of a sense of progression. A Rook is still just like the other Rook, it's just that he might have a cloak. Plus, getting enough favor for one item is pretty quick and easy. I w
No need to download a previous update when there's a new one, since it replaces it.
Wow, I just discovered this thread. Sorry to be late to the party, but soooo cool. Please, take my money!
I am excited, I didn't realize Beta 3 was so close around the corner. Good stuff is happening in the Demigod world!
Been playing this lately, brings back some old, old memories. I wish someone would do a true sequel to this and include multiplayer support. Back in the day, my friend and I would do ghetto hotseat multiplayer, each taking control of half the squad on missions. The only other game we did that with was the first Civilization, and they eventually wisened up and put Multiplayer support in sequels :P
Good morning, Frogboy! Thanks for the update, I am really eager to check out the changes!
I wonder once again if LUA has a global interperetor lock??? So far I have not seen multicore support in DG with my 4 cores only pegged to 25% max. Multicore is important especially for the game host who has their client + server calculations to do, and has 3 spare cores to work with the server stuff.
A GPG dev can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Demigod is client-server based, jus
Oh he's undeniably nasty but I feel he's a Demigod assassin and does that job well. From my (limited) experience playing him, he has a harder time with hordes of creeps than other Demigod's do. Yea, he has a few AE capabilities, but nothing that really shines. Against a demigod though, ouch. Yep, he's gonna hurt! If he is overpowered, it's not by a large degree, IMO.

You are informed of who is desynced. Of course, in a 3 player environment, if Perason A says Person B is desynced, Person B will show the same thing for A. You have to use Person C to, ah, triangulate where the desync actually is. I know the desyncs are (or at least can be) bigger than just a different stat value for stuff. I had a desync with a friend occur towards the end game, and the games ended very, very differently. As a matter of fact, one person won th
This is totally untrue. Taking down defenses while killing the creeps on the other side with mine when they arrive can be very lucrative and gives a nice amount of xp. This money can be used to upgrade your creeps and due to lack of defences start hitting the opponent's. In a recent game I played at the mid game, all both regulus' did on both side was attack defences because it was the best thing to do. No other warlord can do thi
Don't take this as gospel, but as far as I know you can still get into Beta 2. My friend pre-ordered last weekend and was still able to join. I haven't seen any announcements saying it's closed. Keep in mind that even if Beta 2 were closed, there's still Beta 3 coming up :)
Sure, Regulus can do this. But it takes quite a while to take down towers, especially at first, and focusing on knocking down defenses provides almost nothing as far as EXP goes. A regulus play who just runs around plinking defenses is going to get steamrolled by other demigods. I really don't see a problem with him being able to outrange towers, that's kind of the point.
Honestly, I can't see how the FTC can do much about this without either a Supreme Court ruling or federal legislation banning the licensing of software. As long as software companies (including Stardock, however differently they address DRM) can legally license software, they are free to put whatever limitations they feel like on that license. Even Stardock would be violating consumer rights right now if licenses didn't sidestep the first sa
How about the initial popup screen with the options Ke5strel suggests, but if you click "OK" to continue, it just has a red "The game has become desynced" message at the top, rather than a dialog box you have to continuously click away.
Hahaha, that was pretty good :)
You don't get "Support" in Beta. You send in bug reports and suck it up. Alternatively, just wait for release if you don't have the temperment to actual beta test a game.

Hi glasfod, I'm behind a router with no changes to ports or NAT entries or the like, but sounds like I'm having better luck than yourself. If it makes you feel any better, I know the reason they put in only Internet support this phase of Beta is so they can test issues exactly like this, so I think it'll be a lot better before release :)
Hi Agent, You sound like you're the same type of player as me, I was also frustrated with the lack of defensive measures or the ability to create chokepoints (although I still love the game). Entrenchment is right up my alley and it might be for you as well. Minefields, starbases, etc give a much stronger defensive presence. And yes, PJI's are now 700% slowdown, they can be quite effective. As Annatar pointed out, the beta is sti
I'm assuming this is DeadMG from SupCom? Cool to see you here too (No I never post on the SupCom boards, just lurk :P)
Here's our setup. 3 players on a LAN, two on Vista, one on XP. We can play the game just fine as long as only two of us are playing at once, regardless of OS. Add in the third, and problems start arising. Problem #1 is the desyncs. Playing with all 3 of us online, from the same internet connection, pretty much guarantees that the game will desync. It always seemed to be the last person to join the game that would desync, bu
I think the unclean beast is good, I think part of the issue right now is that some demigods are too good. Right now stuns are very powerful as well and can cripple the beast, but I know that's already slated to be reworked. The thing with the Beast is, IMO, he's not a front-line fighter and a lot of people try to play him as such. Get his movement speed up and he's fantastic as sticking and running, he just can't stand stand there and take a beating.
