Between impending Entrenchment and Demigod beta releases, I bet Impulse is burning up with refreshes. I know the forums are from me alone.

Very cool. Grats, Stardock, that has to feel good eh? :)
Actually, I believe you pay when you get the Beta, but that will be within the week if you pre-order now.
This is correct.
I'm pretty sure what we're going to see in Beta 3 is very close to final. I'm sure they'll patch up the release version with any glaring issues that are discovered or last-minute fixes that didn't make the B3 cutoff.
I think you should start a whole new thread instead of just changing the topic. It makes it easier to read for newcomers.
Starting a whole new thread every time there's an update? We'd have 7-8 threads of "Beta Tuesday?" "No beta today" "Beta today?" etc. That, IMO, is far more confusing... let alone spammy :) Keep updating your thread, Ke5trel, I've found it handy.</
Awesome, thank Yarlen! When will this Beta patch be available?
Quoting Ralsar, reply 5I work all weekend and can't play anyway. I think GPG knew this and have decided to wait on the patch until a time most convient for me. This is really considerate of them to go above and beyond just for me. Obviously you didn't get the memo that this is a _beta_. Its not supposed to be convinient. or fun. or anything.
Er... I think it was you who mi
These things happen, but would have been nice to see a dev post this on the forums advising of the changed date!
I like AI cheating. If you don't want the AI to cheat, play on a lower difficulty setting. It's as simple as that. Oh, and provide modding tools for Sorian to tweak the AI after release, if he plays this game too... :)
Please clarify if you're talking about lag (network latency) or performance/sim slowdown. The first can be gauged by checking the other players' pings, the latter is based on computer hardware.
Granted, player population will be higher at release but having a chat lobby to organize games in isn't a bad idea.
Is this right or are my eyes seriously damaged
This xD Honestly, to each their own and artwork is often a matter of taste, but I think the Demigod graphics are much better, much more detailed. One of my friends couldn't believe it's the same engine, because he hates the look of SupCom.
yeah but Regulu's can't hold ground and are forced t back down
This is a good point, especially given the increased importance of holding territory (flags) in the latest versions.
Regulus is very susceptible to stuns and movement reducing effects.
Ummm, wow. Why would you install it on the root folder?!?!? Windows Installer keeps track of files that were deployed as part of the installation, but it can't keep track of items that are created *after* installation. That's why sometimes you'll see things like log files and the like left behind after an uninstall. To force a "clean" uninstallation, it's not uncommon to issue a DeleteDir on [INSTALLDIR], which is the path that the game was installed
Thanks for the exlanation, Oracle, I hadn't heard about possible plans for microtransactions in Demigod, so I thought I'd ask :) If they do something similar to what Sins of a Solar Empire is doing, I'm all for it, but as a general rule I'm not big on microtransactions either.
Seems like it'd fall into what Stardock is wanting to do with Impulse, but I'm not aware if Impulse is ready and set up for all of that yet... so good question. :)
I Think that Deflagratio's Idea that cap ships give passive bonuse to near by firgites and curieres is a good one.
I disagree. Many of the support capships, especially Advent, already do this in some manner. That's one of the primary reason I've always been a fan of the Advent, their CapShips have bloody fantastic auras!
I believe that cap ships should have more health, and do more a damage. They are cap ships, and a lousy dipshit frigate flotilla shouldn't be able to take down even a level 1 cap ship. 10 cobalts have the firepower of a level 4 Kol Battleship.
Offhand, what is the resource cost of the 10 cobalts vs the capship ( I don't have the numbers on hand )? Also keep in mind that the group of 10 cobalts, you
The fact is, there's no point in us even testing this game if it's not reasonably playable by groups of people.
No point? They've developed new network code to get around the problem of requiring router config and port forwarding, but there's no point in a large group of people testing out their connections with a wide variety of network hardware and making the data available to Stardock in order for them to identify, isolate, and correc
To the OP, when you say you're not a fan of microtransactions, what are you referring to?
Hello all, I have a question regarding the release of the Entrenchment mini-xpac. Are there going to be any plans for a bundle package of Sins + Entrenchment via Impulse? I was just curious, as I have a friend who is looking to pick up the game once Entrenchment goes live. Not that it's a big deal or anything, what with Entrenchment being only $10, but I thought I would ask anyway :)
If I don't have an interesting post by Frogboy or one of the GPG/Stardock folk to read, the terrorists win! C'mon, guys, you can't let that happen! :)
Stardock has no problems pushing back release dates for games they publish. Look at Sins of a Solar Empire, both the original and it's expac Entrenchment. Entrenchment is coming out Feb 25th, having been pushed back months based on beta feedback. You say "the game is supposed to be released already", and you "expected it would be Beta 3", but you must realize that there are two choices to be made: 1. Push out a product that hasn't been tested/completed/bug fixed</p
Should still be open. Be advised that the current Beta is an actual beta, that is there are bugs and issues to be found and worked out. The current phase of Beta is 2D, which is focused on network connectivity. Beta 3 begins the gameplay stage of the beta, so if you're interested primarily in playtesting and not network related stuff, I might recommend waiting til Beta 3 before giving it a go.
