Thanks for the article. I am intrigued with this game, but have some hardware concerns. I am hoping they release a demo so I can check that out first.

XX - Yeah, I know it is handy for planning. This article was mainly a bit of a tongue-in-cheek effort at something that I find amusing, but admittedly mildly disturbing. As far as the objects, yes, there are many different styles and color schemes. I have downloaded most of them at one point or another, even if I still don't have them on my system. It is fun to use them to build my current theme, make it all match nicely and such. And the "Looking
I know, I know citahellion. I am a little old fashioned I suppose. I just can't help but feel the need at times though. I figure a few more years in front of my screen should beat it right out of my. I will get completely integrated into the techno-now. Then when my wife asks me what it is like outside my first instinct won't be to open the door and take a brief walk like it is no, but rather to check my Desktop X widget. Ah, the future! <img sr
Installed the first day it was released via automatic updates (been a few weeks now) and haven't had any issues. No problems with programs, no issues at all.
Weather widgets are all the rage. Just look around at the OS customization websites. Desktop X has just short of 100 objects (plus lots of widgets as well), Konfabulator has some, Samurize does as well. Avedesk has them as well. And then there are the stand alone programs that check the weather for you. Weatherbug, The Weather Channel's little toy, Netscape's new
No need to apologize at all. I was just mentioning places where I have had more luck getting help. Hope you can get the answers.
This isn't really a technical support site as far as I understand. There is a help board. Did you try there? Also I would suggest trying the Desktop X newsgroup (which gets pretty good community help), emailing Stardock support, and checking out the IRC channel. I don't have any help for your problem, but maybe one of these places could be a little more helpful. <img src="http://images.stardock.com
Skinnedpt, I just sent you one.
Thanks for the info. To be honest there weren't any there I wasn't aware of with the exception of Sunbird. But it is always nice to find more open source and free applications. A couple other great ones I use regularly are Audacity (audacity.sourceforge.net) which is a really great audio editor, and Irfanview (www.irfanview.com IIRC) which is a great, fast image viewer.
To be honest, I am not a big fan of Good Charlotte. And while I suppose I can appreciate their attempt at a song with a message, it just doesn't work for me. Teen suicide is a tragedy. But songs that deal with such a grave subject have a pretty hard meter to measure up to. Just go and read the lyrics to the Rush song "The Pass" that deals with teen suicide. I just don't think Good Charlotte can
Dharma, what a fabulous read! I think I can understand what you are talking about. I have been in places where I belonged (as I feel I am right now), and in places where I didn't belong. There is a certain feeling, an intangible sense of happiness and peace in being in the "right" place and time in life. So happy to hear you are in that position.
AmberEyes, I sent one your way.
Wow, you don't know how good it is to know I am not alone in this particular bizarre behavior. Thanks so much for confiding in me!
It looks to me like you are using a custom colored version of DogmaX? Is that right? If so you are going ot need to edit it in SkinStudio and toy around until you find something that is the background color. I apologize I can't help more, but it has been along time since I edited the background color like that. I know it can be done though, you will just have to play around with Skin Studio to get it done.
The preview has certainly piqued my interest! Looks nice.
Working fine over here. Has been all day.
I hate soup. I really do. I can't stand the thought of eating soup. But once I start eating it I don't really mind. Yeah, it is weird. I don't think I could ever actually want to eat soup. My wife loves it, so she makes it when she wants to or when we have the stuff for it. She knows I don't like it, and it has become a regular inside jok
Dusk411 - Thanks! I understand exactly what you mean. My problem is often I start to write something, can tell I am forcing it, and just scrap the whole thing. I just know it will not work for me. But tackling it from a different angle might work. The Crusaders - Thanks again. I actually did stop by and read some of the article last night. Interesting different philosophies of life and death going on in there. Some are very different fr
The Crusaders - Thanks for the invitation. I may check it out. But I will be honest. Simply mention Philosophy to me and I get all skeered inside. I'm just too dumb to deal with all that high falutin' thinkin' n stuff. Kinda dim upstairs if you get my meaning. I will pop in though. Can't guarantee I will be productive though. Thanks for the heads up.
"turd-burglers" little whip, I am sure glad I had finished my glass of ginger ale before I read that. I snorted as it was, just imagine the horrors of snorting with a mouth full of ginger ale. The horror, the horror!
Heh, thanks Tex and Karen. I make lots of mistakes with my girls, but hope that I don't repeat them too often and try to make up for them as well. We have a good time. It is really amazing how powerful an hour or two alone, just having fun, will do for our relationship. The benefits last far longer than the actual date itself. Case in point, today, while Aubrey was taking her nap and Elissa was at the studio teaching lessons, Jessica and I
Try Avant it seems to work great and it's freeeeeee... Somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that Avant was just basically a layer on top of IE. That is to say it is actually running IE underneath it all and is not, in fact, a different browser. IE is pretty fast for me. I like Firefox and Opera as well, but still use
Peter!! How the heck are you! And how's the gorgeous family of yours?! Just emailed you Karen. And to be honest I just wanted to talk about the squirrels because I love using the word scatology. Fun, fun word there. For some reason it brings up images of monkeys sitting in a big room throwi
Davey, Happy Birthday man! Karen, my wife gave birth to both of ours without anesthesia of any sort either. And while I don't know exactly what it was like, I was able to witness it. I have pretty strong feelings about the over-use of anesthesia with birth, but that is another blog. Congrats to you and felicitaciones to Davey!
For a while now (at least a year and a half or more) my oldest daughter Jessica and I have had monthly daddy/daughter dates. And they are truly amazing experiences. Last night we went to dinner. My wife isn't too fond of Chinese food (ever since being really sick after eating some Chinese food one night-not the fault of the food, just bad timing), but Jess
