Mason, I echo the sentiments of those who have offered their support. Talking about your problems, connecting with others, and reaching out to God all can help. If you need someone else to talk to drop me a line at [email protected] and I will offer whatever I can. I know it sounds shallow, I know it sounds trite, but there really is a lot to live for, and perhaps you could use someone to help y

I won't deny it, I love driving big old SUVs. I love riding nice and high above the road, being able to see a little better. And I admit to liking the feeling of a big, spacious vehicle. Of course, I wouldn't want to drive one every day. For that I will stick to one of our normal sized cars. As far as the safety thing, I think part (not all) of the problem is that people feel too safe driving SUVs, so they don't drive as carefully

I love it! An psychoanalysis of some unknown person based on a blog in which she claims she chooses to drink alone. Brilliant. Abso-freaking-lutely brilliant.

Hah, I would love to read some of your comments without the "truth filter" dharma. Heck, I would even love to hear what the tact-removed dharmagrl has to say about my own stuff! For me it happens when I am tired. I just forget about tact then, and let it all hang out. Which is why I usually don't blog then!

You know, I have noticed a similar phenomenon in the arena of pharmaceutical sales. They dress incredibly well, just about as classy and in style as can be. And therein lies the disconnect. Instead of acting very professional and striving to maintain an appropriate level of distance between us (the medical professionals) and themselves, they try to buddy up to us, act like we are all old friends, and talk as if we were hanging out at

I enjoyed the first, and look forward to the next. Welcome and make yourself a home here. Good to have you here.

*Bangs glass on table* "Brad, oh Brad?!? Come on man, can't you fill this thing up? Grrr, dang lazy admins!" Thanks for commenting to everyone. I think it was just something I needed to say, get out, and then move on.

Thanks for the clarification JillUser (I am a little fuzzy on who fits the admin bill and not-other than Brad!). My point though is as stated above. I really don't think the constant reminders ever even phase those who are prone to nastiness. They just come across as conceited to those of us who both remember whose site this is and strive to respect that. Thanks again for your comment.

You know, you would think that, wouldn't you. But if that was so then why would they say things such as You can expect whatever you want from the admins but it really doesn't matter. You don't pay to be here. For the most part it doesn't matter to the admins if you leave. There are plenty of new people coming in all

I feel your pain Splateaux. I used to be one of those who was snoring by the time my head was an inch or two away from the pillow. Lately though I find myself staying awake for longer periods of time. And the thinking of nothing trick hasn't been much help. Hope you can find something that works for you.

This will probably make me unpopular with certain folks and factions here, but that is okay with me. I need to write this, if for no one else, then just for me. Just make sure you remember, none of us pay to be here. Okay? We aren't customers here, just free-loaders leeching off the generosity of Brad. As if we could possibly forget. Ma

As do I. I try to use it only in those instances in which it is really warranted, so I use it rather sparingly. And I honestly don't feel any regret when I do use it.

Or perhaps we should exercise self-control and not hit the "troll" button without going away from an article and coming back later to see if it really deserves it. However, there are also instances in which immediate use is warranted. Great article.

however, guys like BlueDev and Greywar have helped me realise, that I wil always be a troll here, because my particular opinion and stance is more often than not mis-alligned with the 'Community' and those that run it. Hmm, I would really like to know what my posts had to do with the idea of being misal

Wow, maybe I am glad I have two girls!!! But, having been through it with my brother I can speak from personal experience that sometimes you just have to let boys get it out. Often after we smacked each other around we would feel truly sorry for what we did. And it was always a far greater remorse than when mom or dad broke it up and grounded one or the other (or whatever the punishment was). Best of luck with them both dharma!

Go back when you aren't feeling so persecuted and read your own posts Muggaz. The first one just screams of playing the victim. You tell us all about how you stand up for your beliefs (which I applaud) and then bemoan how being a troll affected your status in the community. You then talk about your new definition of Troll and comment on how it has led others to abuse the system to get at you. I don't see how it can come of as anything else. I have

I wasn't really overwhelmed with the performances. They were both good, but some really unfortunate out of tune moments for Diana hurt the last song, which began okay and ended really well. I have said it before and I will say it again, I don't like Fantasia. Her voice is like nails on the chalkboard to me, way too nasally, and she just has way too much ego for me. Perhaps I am just trying to come up with some reason for my irrational dislike of he

Way to stand up for what you believe in Muggaz. Unfortunately, at least in this article, it really seems like you are trying to play the "victim card", and it seems below you to me. At the same time you talk about willingly losing points for what you believe in you bemoan the very point system and your apparent loss of points due to being labeled a "troll". So which matters more? Being victimized for losi

Excellent article Brad. Thanks for posting that as there are many important and useful tips in there. I especially appreciated the one about free speech. That one just raises my hackles. I have, in the past, had to take a break because I found myself feeling upset about some online interactions. It helped immensely. Thanks again for the tips.

dharma, I know I didn't realize how much that would mean to me, and I doubt she did either. It really means a lot to be allowed to take part of that. Jill, thanks for the kind words and thoughts. I know I will never forget the people who delivered out two girls.

Thanks dharma! It was very, very cool. A sort of rush that I really can't explain. It certainly wasn't the same as when my little girls were born, but I didn't catch either of them. I was up helping my wife. This was rewarding, just a different way. I hope you can have the experience, it is unforgettable. Dusk411-Thanks for your kind words. It was a blast!
